Always follow your Dreams using Echo Park Back to School by Kerryn Fry

Happy Friday everyone!
It's a great one for us, school holiday are just starting
and it's a long weekend here.
My page today features the fabulous collection,
Echo Park - Back to School.
This versatile collection was perfect for some soccer photos showing
Mr 14 and a quarter, doing what he loves.

The page started with a very crisp and clean piece of white cardstock,
very unusual for me, but I have kept it simple and let the colours pop.
I've layered the papers that coordinated well with the photos
and outlined a few pieces with a black or white gel pen.
The photos and embellishment have been lifted with foam tape
and some string added for the tag.

The 2 Crafty chipboard is the perfect addition to this simple design.
with Black Soot Distress Paint

The 2 Crafty Barbed Chicken Wire has been painted with
Weathered Wood Distress Paint.
I've have cut two corners pieces to add to the photo,
pretending to be goal nets.
They were originally painted white, but didn't quite stand out.
I chose the lighter blue from the striped paper.

I have used a border punch to create the pop of red under the photo
and across the top right corner.

That's my page for today,
the perfect colours for the photos.
Thanks for dropping by the blog, hope you have a great weekend
and please check back on Monday for Fiona's next page.

"Me" by Amanda

Welcome to another Wednesday!
If you have hung around AAS enough, you know I love stickers.
Especially the word stickers with special words and messages.
Today I combined them for a sticker filled page!
I started with a sheet of Kraft cardstock for the base. Using an old credit card,
I swiped some white gesso onto the background.
I added some stamping to this, using an old harlequin stamp and some gold ink.

There were some key words I used stickers for on this page.
For "Mum", I used some black Cocoa Vanilla Studio stickers.
For "Speechie", I used gold PinkFresh Studios puffy stickers.
For "Jujitsuan" and "Scrapbooker", I used PinkFresh alphabets from a sticker pack.

The other key element on this page was sticker phrases and sticker hearts. I took phrases from Pinkfresh "Let Your Heart Decide" Sticker pack and Simple Stories "I am" Sticker pack.

I hope you enjoy this page, all about me! Amazing what some stickers can do!

Thanks for looking,
Amanda

Book Week with Pebbles - My Bright Life by Fiona Johnstone

Hello everyone

Welcome to the start of another week and I've got a new collection to play with. I'm using the Pebbles My Bright Life paper pad - lots of fun papers in this pack! So to start off I have created a fun page:

Book Week
Lily went as Al the Alpaca to Book Week this year, based on the book Alpacas with Maracas. It was her last chance to dress up for book week being in Year 6!

It's not too hard to find alpaca/llama themed paper at the moment and this collection is no exception - love these cute ones. My base paper was chosed due to it's find a word, I think that ties in pretty well with the Book Week theme!

This cute guy is from another collection - Jillibean Soup - Souper Celebration. He was too cute to pass up as an embellishment! As he was quite large, I have left him on his own!

For alphas I have used the new Pinkfresh Studio The Mix No. 2 puffy stickers. Lots of colours, perfect for sub-ttiles! And of course the Awesome puffy sticker from Crate Paper. I've finished off with a little twine to add a pop more colour to the background.

Thanks for stopping by
Have a great week!

Inseparable using Simple Stories Lil' Dude by Kerryn Fry

Good morning all!
Today's share is a page created using
Simple Stories Lil' Dude collection.
I think this is page number 4! and still loving it.
The photo is from 3 years ago,
Mr now 14 and one of his cousins walking near the River Torrens.
Back to what I love this week,
a Kraft cardstock base with stencilling and ink.
Using a Tim Holtz layering stencil and a Prima stencil with
Broken China Distress Paint
and Candied Apple Distress Ink.
I also add some text stamping with black ink.
The solid 2 Crafty Stars have been painted with Twisted Citron
and given a coat of Dimensional Magic.
The frames of the Stars have been backed with patterned paper
and then covered with Black Soot paint.
They have been given a coat of Dimensional Magic.
Some randomly placed wood veneer stars have been added to the page.

I have used foam tape to lift different elements.
Added hand cut arrows from the patterned paper.
The black gel pen has added some borders to the circles
and side strip of the page.

The 2 Crafty title Inseparable has been covered with 3 different colors of paint
Using Tumbled Glass, Broken China and Blueprint Sketch Distress Paint,
I have graduated the colour from light to dark

Once the paint had dried, I have applied a thick coat of
Dimensional Magic to give it a nice finish.
Kaisercraft Wood Veener stars left natural have been added.

To finish off the page, a 2 Crafty Heart Silhouette to frame their hands.
It has been painted with Candied Apple Distress Paint
and then sealed with Dimensional Magic.

"Imagination" by Amanda

Hi AAS fans!

Today I am sharing a page of a school photo created with ModaScrap - Back to School collection. Combined with some fun stickers and this page was completed!

I used Papers 2 and 12 from the ModaScraps range to create this page. I combined these with some red, blue and black cardstock. I used these to mount multiple layers behind the photo.

Then I used some stickers to finish this page. The stickers were from these ranges:
For the title, I used a combination of stickers. I used "Play" and "Imagination" from the  Echo Park 'Imagine That' stickers and then finished the title with some Pinkfresh stickers.
In the top right corner, different stickers were combined. The shapes (plane, star, cloud and lightning) were from the Echo Park 'Imagine That' stickers set. A Pinkfresh Studio - Heart Puffy Stickers in blue also was added.
I used a number of word phrases "Lesson learned", "Choose your adventure" and "Make your mark" were taken from the Pinkfresh - Let Your Heart Decide Cardstock Stickers pack.
Amazing what a combination of cool school papers and some funky stickers can do!
Thanks for looking,
Amanda

Dream Little One with Simple Stories Dream Big by Fiona Johnstone

Hello everyone

Back with another Simple Stories Dream Big layout to start the week. For this layout I had the idea to do a dream like page featuring the Dream Big chipboard shapes:

Dream Little One

The chipboard shapes determined my layout, but first I had to start with some patterned paper. The rainbows seemed perfect and I teamed it up with the more neutral pink check and added a few more pieces of patterned paper to my page. Also love a doily to create a soft effect on a layout.

The close ups of the cute chipboard pieces - I softened them with some flowers, and a cute cloud behind the fairy.

For my title I used the large DREAM letters and then some smaller alpha stickers by PinkFresh Studio - these are the perfect size for adding a subtitle to your layouts.

Of course the giant unicorn is a big feature sitting over the title and dominating the lower section of the page. He is super cute!

Thanks for stopping by
Till next week

My {Heart} belongs to Nanny using Echo Park Back to School by Kerryn Fry

Good morning All!
Today's project is the second page I have created using
Echo Park Paper Back to School.
This week I've used this collection for the colours rather than the theme.
The photo is of my big sister and her youngest granddaughter.
The base is Kraft cardstock, but not much of it is visible.
I've used School House fun to cover most of the base,
the blue symbolizing the sky.
The 2 Crafty Sun has three parts, I've painted two parts with Distress Paint,
both Mustard Seed and Wild Honey
and covered the centre piece with patterned paper.
The clouds are wood veneer, painted white
and hand cut clouds from a 3x4 journal card.
The 2 Crafty Berry Branch has been painted with Mowed Lawn
and Peeled Paint Distress Paint.
The berries have been covered with the White Sharpie Pen.
The 2 Crafty Fine Word Precious has also been painted with the White Sharpie Pen.
I've layered them with the Ephemera piece and foam tape.
The 2 Crafty title My {heart} belongs to Nanny was the perfect title.
It has been painted with Black Soot Distress Paint
and the heart covered with Lucky Clover Distress Paint.
I have finished off the heart with a coat of Dimensional Magic.
The page has been finished off with splashes from the White Sharpie Pen.

That's all from me today.
Hopefully you have been inspired to do a little crafting this weekend.
Thanks for visiting, please check back on Monday
for Fiona's next project.

Brave, by Amanda H

Hello to our AAS fans!

I was away last weekend, scrapbooking with friends. I had some new photos of my girls, and I had the time and freedom to find the perfect papers and bits and pieces.

I used lots from my stash, but the winners on this page are the perfect patterned papers, that I chose for their design and colours.

The page started with a panel of "Lemon Lush" from the Pinkfresh Studio - Simple and Sweet collection. This piece of patterned paper has intricate fruit, berry and leaf designs and is black and white. I wanted to colour it to match the colours in my daughters t-shirt. So I used a red pen to colour the berries and some simple water colour paint to paint the flowers.

Once I had completed this panel, I was able to chose other papers to match.

For the background, I chose the perfect blue "No Limits" paper from the Simple Stories - L'il Dude collection. I layered this on white cardstock.

I also mounted the photo on white cardstock and more of the blue "No Limits" paper.

Here I combined some lovely word stickers with a few flowers, leaves and sparkles from my stash!

A simple page, but I was so happy that I could get the right colours to match my photo! Sometimes all you need is the perfect patterned paper!

Thanks for looking,
Amanda
