The Best of Friends with Simple Stories 'Dad' by Kerryn Fry

Hello everyone!
The weeks are flying past so quickly.
Today I am sharing another layout using the fabulous Simple Stories Simple Set, 'Dad'
I've gone back into the archives to find a fun photo of my two favourite males.
Here they are having a laugh on Father's Day 2012.

I've started with Kraft cardstock as my base.
Most of the cardstock is covered, but I have added a sky effect to the top third,
it's a little hard to see in the photo.
The effect has been created using two different Crafters Workshop Templates
Clouds 6x6 and Tiny Circles 6x6 with some ink.
The clouds have been outlined with metallic gold pen.
The 2 Crafty Harlequin piece has been painted black as a contrast to the primary colours.

I have used a star die to cut three different sizes from the patterened papers.
I've added some punched gold cardstock stars to each cluster.
The stars have been layered using foam tape for dimension.

Once dry, I've swiped the edges of the title with white ink.
I have placed the title in the white space of the photo.

The ray part of the 2 Crafty Sun has been covered with Distress Paint.
The finish is a thick coat of Glossy Accents.
The centre piece of the 2 Crafty Sun has been covered with Stickles.

That's all from me today.
Thank you for visiting the blog, I hope you have enjoyed the page.
Please pop back on Monday to see Fiona's next project

"Me", by Amanda H

Hello AAS fans!

Today I am sharing a fun photo of myself - I always loved this photo! I had saved this floral sheet of paper from the Prima St Tropez collection, and I decided that this photo was a perfect match for it!

Here is my page and some close ups.

The main paper for this page is the Sainte Maxime from the Prima range. I picked up the pink tones by backing the floral (and the photo), with pink background Flower Patch paper from the CVS Hello Lovely range.
I found an old Pink Paislee paper from my scraps pile, to add another layer of mint behind the photo, which I cut into a banner.
In the close ups you will see how I used embellishments to finish the page.

Running across the page, I used a 2Crafty Flowery Lace Border, which I inked with a Prima ink and added a coat of Dimensional Magic.
Then I layered Prima - St. Tropez Flowers - Isla Marina and Kaisercraft - Mini Paper Blooms - Sage, with some Cocoa Vanilla Studio word stickers from the CV - Wild At Heart Accessory Sticker Sheet.

For my title I used the word "me" from the Pink Paislee Thickers set.

I also added the cute pink flair "Dream Big" from CV - Wild At Heart Flair Buttons.

So glad I got this photo scrapbooked! :)

You are Here with Simple Stories
Summer Days by Fiona Johnstone

Hello everyone

Finishing off the month with one final summery page, walking the boardwalk at Venice Beach, using Simple Stories Summer Days.

You are Here

To start my layout I have used some Dylusions Ink Spray and applied using the plastic bag technique - spray some colour onto your plastic, add some water then turn it over and press it down on your page.  I've added some subtle stamping in a similarly toned blue.

I have added lots of paper layers under my photo, so many fun summery colours in this collection.

I've use a large wood veneer for my title and embellished with some
co-ordinating wood veneer, stickers and flair.

Loved this little sun from my stash, so cute with the journaling stickers to
add a subtitle to my page.

Thanks for stopping by,
till next week
Fiona

#1 Dad using Simple Stories Dad by Kerryn Fry

Morning All!
It's another fabulous Friday and I'm here to share my next project.
My page today features one of the awesome Simple Sets from Simple Stories, Dad.
The photo is my amazing Dad.
I love using these simple sets from Simple Stories
they have everything you need to create a few pages and are great value for money.
I have cut out the center from the patterned paper to create a frame for the cardstock base,
I will use the centre piece for another page.
Using the frame I've created, I have stuck down a piece of kraft cardstock cut to 11"x11".
The Kraft has been decorated using Distress Inks, stencil and a Kaisercraft stamp to create interest.

The chevrons have been cut off the 2 Crafty12x12 Chevron border that was used at the base of the page.
They've been painted and popped on foam tape.
The 2 Crafty Handrawn Stars have been covered with black ink.
I've then added stars from the sticker sheet to give each star another layer.
I have used more of the sticker sheet and black cardstock to build the embellishment clusters
at the base of the page and each side of the photo.

The 2 Crafty Light-Bulb has been painted with Distress Ink and
given a little sparkle with Diamond Stickles.
The 3x4 quote has been cut from one of the patterned papers.

The first layer in the main cluster at the bottom of the page has started with the
Foam tape has worked perfectly to add dimension to the sticker.
A multitude of stickers have been layer to form the cluster.

That's all for today.
I hope you have found the page interesting and fun.
Have a great weekend and
check back Monday for Fiona's next amazing project.

'Sunshine' by Amanda H.

Hello and welcome to my Wednesday share!

With all my recent beach photos, I decided to stock up on the Bella Blvd Secrets of the Sea Collection, which was the perfect match to this sand mermaid photo!

Here is my page and some close ups.

I used a number of the patterned papers in the collection to create vertical panels on my page. The papers are bright, so I added a layer of vellum with some machine stitching. Then I layered my photo with some extra mounting and a doily.
In the next photos, you will see the close up of my embellishment clusters.

For the title, I used the word "sunshine" from the Pink Paislee Thickers set.

In this cluster, I used one of the Bella Blvd Designer clips - I love that little whale!
And added to this cluster:

Another Bella Blvd Designer clip, with more flowers, enamel shapes and some
Puffy Stickers from the Prima St Tropez range.

And finally in the top corner, I had to use these two cute Mermaid Bella Blvd Designer clips, repeating more of the same sweet embellishments.

Adventure with Pink Paislee Summer Lights by Fiona Johnstone

Hello everyone

Continuing on this month with some summery pages, using Pink Paislee
Summer Lights for this layout

Adventure

This water themed background was just perfect for my photo and I wanted it
to be a visible so went with a linear design. I've used some simple paper
layers of the Summer Lights papers.

I've used lots of embellishments to frame my photo - the majority being from
the Summer Lights sticker sheet but also adding a few stickers from other
ranges, especially the puffy ones that add some dimension.

I've finished the layout with a simple title from a Thickers pack!

Thanks for stopping

My favourite person using Kaisercraft Factory 42 by Kerryn Fry

Hi All!
Kerryn here for another Friday share.
Today's project features the fabulous collection Kaisercraft Factory 42.
The photo of my two gorgeous males was taken last year at a family wedding.

I decided to go with a patterned paper background for this page,
choosing the subtle pattern of 'Plan'.
I have kept the background clean and simple.
I have used Bazzill Raven to frame the page.

The 2 Crafty Gears have been decorated with a mixture of metallic paints,
Dusty Concord Distress Paint and Metallic Rub.
The 12x12 Chain Length was covered with metallic paint
and then randomly swiped with purple metallic rub.
I've used a similar effect with the Pointing Finger, using Evergreen Bough Distress Paint
and finished with a swipe of silver metallic rub.

The 2 Crafty Star Circular Frame was the perfect embellishment
to frame these two handsome faces.
I have backed the largest star with patterned paper to add the word from the Sticker Sheet.
It has been covered with black ink and then I have used the silver metallic rub
to highlight the stars.

The Collectables Pack was just perfect to add a few clusters to the page,
I have fussy cut a few more pieces from the patterned paper.
Foam tape helped to add layers and dimension to the project.

I loved the sayings at the bottom of the page, I have backed it
with black cardstock to help it stand out.
A black pen was used to doodled some of the edges.

I hope you have been inspired by the layout.
Enjoy your weekend and may there plenty of happy creating.
Please join us again on Monday to see Fiona's next project.
Thanks for the visit.

"Be Yourself", by Amanda H

Hi again,

Welcome to another Wednesday!

Here is my page for today!

I started with All About Scrapbooks, but did raid my stash and Colour Blast goodies for this page!

My two key AAS ingredients were a Kaisercraft Bombay Sunset Paper
(what an amazing background paper!) and an awesome 2 Crafty chipboard word title.

Here is my page:

I borrowed a Mandala stencil from my friend for this page, although I notice that AAS has a Kaisercraft Mandala Stencil in store, I may need to add to my next order!
I used Colour Blast Paste in Bling through this stencil.
I also splattered Colour Shimmer Cubes in Bling and Sienna, and I do love the gold
 and copper finishes!

I have embossed in gold to tie in with the overall layout.
