Best Day Ever using Simple Stories Hey, Crafty Girl by Kerryn Fry

Good morning Crafters!
Today I've managed to squeeze a third page from the collection,
Simple Stories Hey, Crafty Girl
This range was really easy to use, considering its theme,
I loved the colours, bright and happy and the reverse patterns were simple.
The photo is from a few years ago, a rare snap snuggling with my boy.
A great day at the park, spent with my sister and her grand-daughters.

I've used the reverse side of the paper
Makers Gonna Make as the base page.
I thought the green was a great match for the photo
and it had a simple, clean background pattern to work with the page.

The layers of patterns and colours have been balanced to work with each other,
trying to alternate the white background papers onto the coloured ones.
The floral paper DIY Queen was used on the page
and then the flowers were hand-cut from the remainder of the paper.

I've cut a circle from the reverse of Made With Love
and used it as a journal spot for the page.
The hand-cut flowers have been used to frame the circle.
All of the flowers have been lifted with foam spots for some dimension.

The small hearts have been hand-cut from the paper Made With Love,
they were placed on the page with foam spots
and formed a decorative edge across the base of the photo.
The small alphas have been backed with patterned paper and added with foam spots.

The 2 Crafty Lattice Leaves were covered with Peeled Paint Distress Paint
and added to embellish the circle frame.

The 2 Crafty title Best Day Ever was covered with Black Soot Distress Paint
to highlight the black touches in the patterned papers
and black matt used to define the photo edges.

That's a wrap from me today.
I hope you have enjoyed the steps
and get a chance to create over the weekend.

Happy Day with Pinkfresh Studio My Favourite by Fiona Johnstone

Hello everyone

Today I have a share with the gorgeous new Pinkfresh Studio collection: My Favourite.
This one has been popular so be sure to get in quick!

Happy Day

So many pretty colours and patterns in this collection I decided to layer a few up under my photo, then decided to use cardstock with a light mixed media background to add a little colour without taking away to much white space.  I've used watered down Dylusions paint the plastic bag technique then added a couple of splatters.

I've used the beautiful floral ephemera pack to embellish my page alongside some fussy cut quotes from the Good Life patterned paper. I've inked and added some paint dabs to the leaves from the Celebr8 matte board flowers & leaves set. These add a little dimension to the flower clusters.

I've repeated this on the opposite side then added my title using birthday themed Thickers. Little hearts from the Pinkfresh My Favourite puffy word stickers.

I've finished with a little cluster at the base of my page to finish the visual triangle.

Till next week

Cherished Family Memories using Kaisercraft Oh Happy Day! by Kerryn

Good morning everyone.
Today I've created a second page with the collection
Oh Happy Day! by Kaisercraft.
The collection is really versatile,
this page is more masculine than last week, but still has the party vibe.
This is Mr then 12 celebrating his sister's 15th birthday.

I've started with Bazzill Raven Cardstock.
Then I've layered the papers to one side of the page.
All of the embellishments have been hand-cut from the patterned papers.
The speech bubbles and flag were cut from Time to Party
and mounted with foam tape.

I love the touches of gold foil throughout the collection.
I've tied in the gold with the title and gel pen border.

The remainder of the candle border used on last week's page.
was hand-cut from Party Popper paper
and the banner cut from Time to Party.
More foam tape was used to lift different elements
to create different layers.

I've hand -cut the presents from Wrapped Up
and the Birthday card from 100's & 100's.
The journaling was added with white grid scrap

The 2 Crafty title Cherished Family Memories has been covered with gold ink.
I've added the dot border with a gold gel pen.

That's my page this week,
hopefully you've enjoyed it.
Have a fabulous weekend
and please join us again on Monday

Happy Day with Simple Stories Hey, Crafty Girl by Fiona Johnstone

Hello everyone

This week I'm creating with the pretty Crafty Girl collection by Simple Stories
 to create my page.

Happy Day

Again you can see I have used a few of the B sides to create my page, taking the focus away from the "craft" theme of the paper and focusing on the gorgeous colour combo that is fab for outdoor photos, with the blue and yellows.

I've fussy cut one of the little quotes from the paper as a sub heading and then added some flowers from the Celebr8 Matt Board - I just love leaving these natural though they can be easily inked or painted to suit.

Adding a few word quotes and finishing with some Cocoa Vanilla butterflies I still had left over from fussycutting a while back.
Then this fun big title from a thickers pack to finish off the page.

till next week

Amazing Day using Kaisercraft Oh Happy Day! by Kerryn Fry

Hi everyone!
This week I've created a page using the gorgeous collection,
Kaisercraft Oh Happy Day!
The star of my page is my great-niece on her first birthday,
a few years ago now, but the colours were perfect.

I've let the papers and hand-cut elements shine this week.
The base paper is Bazzill White Cardstock, kept fresh and clean.
I've layered a few of the patterned papers down
and then I started on the hand cut pieces.

The birthday candles have been cut from the Party Popper paper.
I've used foam tape to give the page some dimension
and then added Diamond Stickles to highlight the flame.

The celebrate garland has been cut from Garlands paper,
then used foam tape again to pop it off the page.
I've added Diamond Stickles to parts of the garland for a little sparkle.
The stars were cut from the Time to Party paper

The birthday presents have been cut from the Wrapped Up paper,
I've used foam tape to add them to the page and create two embellishment clusters.
The Make a Wish ticket was cut from the Party Popper paper.
A little more sparkle with some Diamond Stickles

The birthday banner was cut from Time to Party paper
and added with foam tape.

The 2 Crafty title Amazing Day has been covered with white ink,
once dry, I've added a thick coat of Diamond Stickles for some sparkle.

A pretty sparkling page that I love!

Family Forever and Always
with Simple Stories Holly Jolly
by Fiona Johnstone

hello

Today I show how you can use up that Christmas scrapbook paper to create a
 non Christmassy layout.
I have used Simple Stories Holly Jolly to create this family page of my kids and their cousins:

Family Forever & Always
Always check those B sides of the patterned paper, especially themed papers as you will see they are very often plain prints like stripes, spots and florals. There is a tiny bit of holly berries on this floral but the bigger flowers dominate the paper.

I then use non Christmas themed embellishments - I grabbed some blue flowers to tie in the small amount of blue in the patterned papers - on the spot and stripe paper, then some wood veneers before finishing off with a 2Crafty chipboard title.
I've inked my title with Burgundy ink to match my paper, then finished off the page with some burgundy enamel dots.

Till next week

A Moment to Treasure using Simple Stories Crusin' by Kerryn Fry

Hi everyone!

Today's page is the second one created with the collection
Simple Stories Cruisin
A younger Mr 15, spending some time with his cousins
during the school holidays in January 2015.
This week I have used the wood panel patterned paper,
Man Overboard as the base for my page.
The hearts in the background have been done with
the 6x6 Micro Hearts Crafters Workshop and Distress Paint.
Once the paint was dry, I have outlined the hearts with a white gel pen.

The 2 Crafty Small Filmstrip was covered with Black Soot Distress Paint.
I've added patterned paper to the back of the filmstrip
and then hand-punched out some chevrons from patterned paper for another layer.
The 2 Crafty Mini Camera has been covered with Fired Brick Distress Paint,
added to the filmstrip with foam tape to finish the embellishment cluster.

I've hand-punch some strips from the 2x2 Elements patterned paper
and added a faux stitch line with black pen.
The 2x2 Element had the perfect sentiment for the page
and has been lifted with foam tape for dimension.
The star and banner added are from the Bits & Pieces Ephemera

The 2 Crafty title A Moment to Treasure has been covered with black paint.
Once dry, I've stamped it using Kaisercraft Grid Textured Stamp
and white Brilliance Ink.

Thank you for visiting the blog today.
Have a fabulous weekend and join us again on Monday
for Fiona's next page.

Hello with Cocoa Vanilla Studio Unforgettable By Fiona Johnstone

Hello everyone

Using up some of my beautiful CVS Unforgettable collection before the new collection arrives later this month. I think this Unforgettable collection could be my favourite Cocoa Vanilla Studio collection to date!

Hello

This page I put together in record time, I love it when it all comes together so easily. I've used the Garland paper which makes the most perfect background ready to go!

I've flipped this on it's side so I could add a photo to the bottom left corner and then have balanced out the florals in the top corner with some on the diagonal lower corner.

I used up a lot of my remaining flowers and stems from the ephemera pack here and then added some butterflies from the clear stickers, a flair button and some enamel dots.

The lower half of the cluster:

One of my favourite things on this page are the clear stickers! I haven't really used these before, turns out I love them! Particularly the little sploshes of watercolour that I have used top and bottom under my photo - no mess and quick and easy giving the same effect.
I've finished off my layout with some more ephemera and the cool foam stickers for my title and a little journaling to complete it.

Thanks for stopping by
Till next week
