Always
by Tammy Klingner

Happy FriYay!!

I'm back with another layout using the gorgeous Pink Paislee Fancy Free Collection.

This is a simple layout.  The gorgeous background paper I used is the reason why.

I'm sure you've all been seeing the trend of painting with acrylic paint directly onto your background page (I used this technique last week).

For those of you who don't have the time to create your own backgrounds, or perhaps you don't have all the 'stuff' needed - this background paper is your answer!
It's painted for you!
I just wish it came in every colour!!

As the hard work was done, I simply did some layering with paper and
a few bits of 2Crafty Chipboard.
To finish I added a flair, some thread, and some of the gorgeous embellishments from the range.

Simple AND Easy!!

Find your Wings and Fly by Fiona Johnstone

Hello everyone

This week I'm sharing a boy style layout created using  Echo Parks Pinstripes and Petticoat collection. Lots of fab primary colours in this collection.

Find Your Wings & Fly

I've scraped some gesso across the background cardstock then added some stamping before layering up several of the patterned papers.

I love the look of wood veneer on kraft cardstock, and these Kaisercraft ones are the cutest. The Awesome title is from Cocoa Vanilla as are the journaling strips.

Thanks for stopping by

Hello Today and Dream Big layouts by Rachel Lowe:

How quick does a week end go!
So I won't show off and say I am currently in Florence, Italy!
Today I have two boy layouts for you.
I love a good boy collection and this new collection by Echo Park Pinstripes Boy is just awesome (petticoats is the girl version).
I love this photo of my baby boy (being the youngest of four he will ALWAYS be my baby!!) and rocket shops, stars and little boys just go together.
Firstly I have cut a circle at 8x8 inches in the navy blue paper. I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut various sized stars but you could use punches to create the same effect. I chose the yellow tan paper as I wanted a stark contrast.

I them went about creating layers to mat my photo and in keeping with my theme of stars I chose the rocket ship paper and the speciality foil stars paper which I broke up with hints of dark blue and red.
To add more texture and interest I have sewn around my layers.

I then chose the stickers to keep with my theme and foam taped these to add depth to my layout.

I hand cut out the 'NOTE' banner from a 4x6 journalling cards paper and once it has been show cased I will go back and add one hand written journalling to give my layout meaning.

With my left overs from this collection I created another layout for you.
Firstly I splattered my white bazzil with yellow spray in a random fashion.
I have hand stitched my over sized title 'Dream Big'. Hand stitching is a cheap (if somewhat time consuming) and effective way of adding a real 'wow' factor to your layouts.

I have made the star foiled speciality paper a feature behind my photo and then layered a strip of the yellow tan paper behind it.
I created an embellishment cluster to the right of the photo, a sticker at the top left of my photo and finished of with the zig zag border sticker under the photo.

Finally I added some small star stickers to the top, left of my page.
I love creating a minimalist layout as they are always so clean and fresh but still visualising striking.
You sometimes need very little product to make a great layout.
Thank you for stopping by today and see you next week and yes I will be back in Australia and back to reality.

Happy Dance
by Tammy Klingner

Hi everyone

It's my turn to share my latest layout.
I have again used Pink Paislee's Fancy Free range.
I love it!! Such great colours!

One of my favourite things about this range, is the 'painted' look on the papers.
So all the hard work is done for you!
For my background I used one of the watercolour papers (there's a coral and an aqua).
I love how it looks like I've created it!!
Because of this, I didn't do any mixed media!! WHAT!!!
I know, I know - no paint, no gesso!
But with paper this good, it's really not necessary.

The other paper that jumped out at me is the circle paper, with all the cool sayings in them.
The sayings made me laugh - they are very usable, very current.

A couple stood out straight away - 'crazy kids' and 'happy dance'
Immediately it reminded me of a hot summer day we had last summer  It began to drizzle, which is a rarity here in Clare in summer.
My kids were so excited - they ran outside and did a rain dance! They got soaked!!

I punched out various circles, in a couple of different sizes.
I then randomly placed them running down my layout, just to the right of the centre.
When using circles, always have some half circles coming out from your photo, and also from the top and bottom edge.  This creates a more natural feel.
I also added in some hand drawn circles, and some enamel dots to go with the fun 'feel' of the layout.

To finish off, I layered up my photos, added a title and some journaling.

So there you have it!
A layout without mixed media.
I even resisted the flicking of the paint!

Why don't you have a go?

See you next week!
Love Tam xx

Kaisercraft Boho Dreams - Hello Beautiful by Fiona Johnstone

Hello everyone

Continuing on with the colouring theme I had going last week, this week I am sharing another layout featuring colouring in, this time using Kaisercrafts Boho Dreams.

Hello Beautiful
I was in love when I saw this fabulous dreamcatcher just begging to be coloured in!
I will admit this took a fair bit of time, then I fussy cut the outside and some details in the middle too.
After all that colouring I wasn't going to hide the dreamcatcher, so I have used a small photo with a couple of paper layers, a doily and some simple embellishments; a flower, a cork heart and some enamel dots.
Thanks for stopping by
till next week

Destination Happy Layout by Rachel Lowe:

How fast does the week end go, happy Monday everyone!

I am actually not in Australia currently and in fact today I am in Rome, Italy, I know
 I am showing off right!!!

Today I have a layout created using the lovely collection by Photo Play, Happy Glamper.

It is a travel/adventure themed collection but as you can see from this layout it can be
 themed to suite any photo.

I love the dark blue and red floral paper, red gingham and floral stickers and I created a
 very pretty layout from this.

I chose a white background as to have a stark contrast with the red and navy papers.

I just love clouds (I am sure you have noticed!) and here I have foam taped them
to the top left of my page.

I have used the red sticker border strip under my photo, I then attached the sticker sheet
flower vases and 'destination' ribbon to create an embellishment cluster. I added smaller
flower stickers to create a more full floral bunch (I have also foam taped some of them to
create a 3D effect) and to finish added some enamel dots.

At the top of my photo I foam taped a heart sticker and finished off with a sticker sequin.

All of this has framed the photo beautifully.

I added in a small font 'happy' to create my title 'destination happy'.

I then created another feature at the bottom of the page by again using the red and floral blue paper. I then foam taped the 'hello beautiful banner sticker and finished with adding some small flower stickers (with the top one foam taped).

I love this photo of my daughter with this colour combination and floral features.
Any themed collection can be used which ever way you choose with a little imagination and 'word play' as I have done here.

Thank you for stopping by and see you next week, did I mention I will be in Italy!

You love to draw
by Tammy Klingner

Good morning everyone
Can you believe it's Friday already?

This week I've been playing with the gorgeous Fancy Free Collection by Pink Paislee.
I adore it!
It's full of great colours, and it has a lovely hand painted/watercolour look.

For this layout, I spread white gesso onto white cardstock.
I then randomly swiped some bright paint around.
I was hoping it would look a bit artsy, as my layout is about my daughter's love of drawing.

I then added some texture over this using texture paste and a stencil.
Once I positioned my photo, I then began adding embellishments around it.
I love the ephemera pack!! So much in there, and so many of them suited this particular story.

I added some painted 2Crafty chipboard.
I used the clustered hearts along with the mini hearts.  They are perfect together.

To finish off my layout, and give it a 'frame', I trimmed 2 of the edges down a little, and placed
onto a 12x12 paper from the range.  I love this look.

This layout has been inspired by the lovely Wilna Furstenberg
I was lucky enough to attend 2 classes with her recently at a scrapbooking retreat.
I still can't believe she hung out with us for 3 days!!
Since taking her classes, I've been WAY more adventurous with paint!!
I'm still a little out of my comfort zone, but I love where it is taking me.

Cocoa Vanilla Studio Colour Me Happy - You are My Sun by Fiona Johnstone

Hello everyone

Sharing my class page from last weeks crop day, using the super fun Cocoa Vanilla Studio Colour Me Happy collection. This collection is perfect for anyone who enjoys colouring in or putting their own spin on a page.

You are my Sun, my Moon and all of my Stars

The first technique we did was to use ink sprays and water to paint the colour onto the leaf pattern, then fussy cutting out the leaves. The second technique was some relaxing colouring with pencils.

To embellish the layout we have used some of the fantastic variety of embellishments that CVS are well known for! The Colour Me Happy Snip-Its were perfect for journaling, embellishing and even the title.

The Colour Me Happy Blossoms were the perfect finishing touch.

Thanks for stopping by
till next week

Today...dream big layout by Rachel Lowe:

This is my last share using Jillbean Soup Mushroom Medley.

This layout I have steered away from 'cute' and used a photo of my three boys which is
 more 'cool' than cute!

I loved the grey wood grain paper but knew it needed a bright contrast to make it work. The multi coloured triangles was just perfect!

I have created an embellishment cluster to the left of my photo (ok I had to use one cute fox), you will see I have sewn on the arrow and foam taped the clouds.

I have sewn a border around my photo and added a tab at the top of my photo to help draw the eye to the photo which is important when you are using patterned backgrounds.

I have then created a diagonal title and again added some more sewing for added interest.

Although this layout is simple in design it is visually striking due to colour choices and clean design.
You could use a landscape photo with the same effect.

So from this one collection you can create so many different styles of layouts.
I have so enjoyed creating with it.

Thank you for stopping by and see you next week.

Forever & Ever....

Hi everyone

This weeks layout was created using Cocoa Vanilla's Free Spirit Collection.
I love this range.....yes I love every Cocoa Vanilla Range!
Just so easy to work with, and so many cute embellishments that co-ordinate so well.

For this layout, I focused on the gorgeous navy's, teals and pale pinks.
I love how these ranges always have some sort of 'word' paper.
I kept my layering towards the bottom of the page, adding a small cluster of embellishments at the top.

Some of the embellishments are attached using foam tape, to give some depth to the layout.

I cut the title out of a 12x 12 paper. I've been doing this a lot lately!

This photo was taken just prior to our beautiful boy Slinko's passing last year.
Oh how we miss him.
He was just one of those absolutely beautiful cats who was so faithful, so cuddly. So special.
Cats like him don't come along very often.
We were so lucky to know him, and to be his humans.

He was my daughter's cat, and they were inseperable.
They had a very special relationship.
This photo was taken when we knew a goodbye was going to happen.
The two of them laid like this for a very long time.
Precious memories.
