"Cherish", by Amanda H, using More Than Words

Hi everyone!

Today I am sharing my page using the new collection from Cocoa Vanilla Studio - More Than Words. There are lovely pinks and pastels, but today for my page, I went with the blues and greys. Perfect for this black and white photo of my husband and I.

I started with two papers - Collage for the background and Radiant for the panel. I used some black machine stitching around the panel. I also used an extra piece of Collage to matte the photo.

Then with some stickers and diecuts I finished the page.

For the title, I used the word "cherish" from the chipboard titles pack. Layered above and below is a combination of stickers and diecuts from the collection.
You can also see here that I splattered some subtle touches of white ink.
I continued the same on the other side of the title.
And in the top left corner of the photo.
I do love this range. I love that I could do the blues and greys and next time I will probably come up with something completely different!

Thanks for looking!
Amanda

Good Boy by Fiona Johnstone

Hello everyone

Happy Monday! This week I'm finishing off the month with a layout to share that I have created using some Pink Paislee Wild Child and Fancy Pants Take Note paper:

Good Boy
I love this cool geometric design of paper 7 in the Pink Paislee Wild Child collection and wanted it to feature on my page, so I simply cut the triangles at staggered intervals to create interest and placed it over a neutral background - the Fancy Pants Take Note Composition paper.

For my photo, I mounted the pic onto blue cardstock to match the Wild Child paper then added a piece of vellum, to give an extra layer & texture without adding the busyness of patterned paper.

Cocoa Vanilla Studios You Rock collection were the perfect embellishments to compliment the page. I love the rubber charms and the ephemera piece continues the geometric design.

The flower & leaves add the perfect touch of nature to the outdoor photo and then I finished off with these cool wood veneer thickers for my title.

Thanks for stopping by
Till next week

You Rock My World using Simple Stories Beautiful by Kerryn Fry

Good morning all!
Today I have my second project that features the gorgeous collection
from Simple Stories, Beautiful
I got a little sentimental with this page,
I decided to gather a few photos of both Mr 13 and myself, shocking I know!
They are from different years and show how we've grown together.

Starting with a Kraft Cardstock base, I have used Distress Inks Bundled Sage and Spun Sugar
with two Crafters Workshop 6x6 Templates to decorate the background.

I have fussy cut a few elements from different papers
to create the clusters on each side of the photos.
The 4x6 Sticker sheets were fantastic to build the clusters.
Some stickers have been backed with black cardstock to define the layer better.
I've added some words from the Cardstock Sticker Sheet.

The journal spot was cut from the 4x4 Elements paper.
I've then layered more stickers using foam tape and cardstock.

I have die-cut a frame to highlight the photo of us now
and a ticket with a heart cut out at the top of the page.

The 2 Crafty title You Rock My World has been given a base coat of Gesso
and then covered with Spun Sugar Distress Paint.
Once dry, I have stamped with black ink using Kaisercraft script stamp.
The chipboard star from the title has been covered with gold ink
and added to the frame.

A rare glimpse of my boy and I.
Thanks for visiting the blog today.
I hope you have a crafty weekend
and remember to pop back on Monday.

"Friends", by Amanda H

Hello AAS fans!

I love a good red and blue colour scheme - and I find it can be hard to get papers in these colours. That's why I loved the new Carta Bella range - Flora No. 2 Collection.

And today I combined the lovely papers and embellishments with some simple mixed media techniques. I went for the solid colour background papers, and brought back in the florals with some stickers from the range.

To start I used white cardstock and mounted it onto the navy blue Magnolia Wreath paper.

Then the photo was layered on white cardstock, more of the navy blue Magnolia Wreath paper, as well as the red Garden Rose Spray paper and pale blue Blossom Bunch paper.

Before I stuck the photo down and embellished, I decided to add some mixed media.

Using the Kaisercraft stencil, I swiped White Heavy Gesso onto the page. I focused on putting this diagonally across the layout.

I also added some splatters of Colour Blast Shimmer Sprays: in Fire Engine, Just Blue and Singing the Blues.

I think this subtle mixed media adds some interest to the layout.

Next I add some stickers from the collection. I layered a long strip sticker, some floral bunches, word stickers and some circle stickers on the page. These sticker sheets are such great value - with many designs and shapes!

I repeated more stickers in the top right corner of the photo.

I could not resist buying some of the Green Tara flower packs last month, and this blue flower from the Bright blue pack was perfect in this cluster for my page.

Finally my title to finish - 2Crafty "friends" chipboard word. Inked red and a coat of dimensional magic to finish!

Home using Carta Bella Welcome Home by Fiona Johnstone

Hello everyone

Happy Monday! This weeks layout is created using Carta Bella Welcome Home to scrap some photos of our house.

Home
I love the colours in this collection, the black floral is so pretty! The other patterned papers tie in nicely and a doily to soften the background behind the photo. I went with a linear design so I could fit my two photos across and add some embellishments.

Loved this little quote that I cut from the border strips paper that ties it all together.
The gorgeous flowers are from Green Tara, they go perfectly with this collection, love having some nice yellow flowers!

The chipboard house is super cute! And I finished off with a wood veneer title to create some balance.

The Magic of You using Simple Stories Beautiful by Kerryn Fry

Good morning everyone.
Today I've had my first chance to create with
the gorgeous collection Beautiful from Simple Stories.
This collection really is divine and love the gold accents.
Obviously, I've had to go back to being a little bit girlie this week.
The photo is of one of my gorgeous nieces heading off to her formal.

I've started with my normal Kraft cardstock as the base.
The small section of kraft that can be seen has been lightly stamped with
Gold Brilliance Ink and a 49 & Market stamp.
There are lots of layering under the photo using patterned papers and some acetate.

You can see in some of the close ups,
I have highlighted certain features of the papers with a gold pen.
There is Faux stitching around the small circles and dots along the scalloped edge.
The Sticker sheets make decorating this page so simple.
I love the gold foil that pops up throughout the stickers, it helps to pull all the elements together.

The 2 Crafty Butterflies were the perfect embellishment for this pretty page.
With some Distress Paint and touches of Brilliance Ink around the wings,
the butterflies have tied the page together nicely.

The 2 Crafty title The Magic of You has been given a two tone finish.
The main word has been painted with Bundled Sage Distress Paint.
The remaining words were covered with Brilliance Ink, then using the same stamp and ink,
from decorating the background, I've added some detail to the paint.
Left to dry for a few hours, I have then applied a good layer of Dimensional Magic.

Thanks for visiting today.
Have a fab weekend and hopefully to get to have some time to create.
Remember to check back on Monday for Fiona's next project.

4 shaker cards, by Amanda H

Hi everyone,

I am not really a card maker, but recently I tried a very simple shaker card technique and now I am hooked. Combine this with my love of using up all those paper scraps I diligently save, that's how I came up with today's project. I have so many beautiful paper scraps and stickers left over from some awesome ranges in store; they were perfect for these 4 cards.

For all 4 cards, I started with a white cardstock base. Then I cut a square of patterned paper and layered a square of vellum on top. I machine stitched these squares together, leaving the top open. Then I loaded sequins into the pocket and stitched the top up. Lastly I embellished with some strips of patterned paper and some stickers. I love shaking these cards around, the noise and seeing the shiny sequins; it really does add a simple touch to a card.

Below is all the details for the 4 cards I created.

Card 1: Thinking of you

So many perfect sentiments and colours for card making in this range. I love that the vellum overlay softens the patterned paper I had chosen. And the stickers in the range were ideal to finish this card. I went with yellow, orange and green sequins in the shaker pocket.

Card 2: "Hey"

I combined a pink patterned paper from the range with some brights and blues. I added puffy stickers, chipboard stickers and a CVS word sticker. And how cool does the Jillibean Soup felt flower look? I went with pink, blue and cream sequins in the shaker pocket.

Card 3: "Happy Together"

I love the patterned paper square I started with from the range and a collection of layered stickers was a simple and easy way to finish the card. I went with black, white and pink sequins in the shaker pocket.

Card 4: "Live in the moment"

This range is great for a more masculine card and I combined papers and stickers in the range for a simple card. I went with blue, green and orange sequins in the shaker pocket.

Papers used: Pinkfresh - Escape the Ordinary Paper - Observe;
Pinkfresh - Escape the Ordinary Paper - Dare
Stickers used: Pinkfresh - Escape the Ordinary Puffy Stickers;
CV - Bohemian Dream Accessory Sticker Sheet

That's all from me today! I hope it inspires you to pull out some paper scraps from your stash and make some shaker cards!
