Discover with Cocoa Vanilla Studio Legendary by Fiona Johnstone

Hello everyone

As you may have noticed, I'm a huge fan of Cocoa Vanilla Studio's collection, and this latest one is no exception. I love it !
The new Legendary collection is the perfect range for travel photos.

Discover

I'm always a sucker for a woodgrain background, and the colours in this one are fab! I've teamed this up with the map paper and some co-ordinating blue to match the photos and some orange for the pops of colour.

I've gone with some circles to add embellishment clusters to my layout - the frames and compass are from the ephemera pack.

My favourite part of my layout is my title: I have added a little scene background to the frame - the mountain/sun background is cut from the Epic Tales paper.

I'm always a fan of the Flairs to finish off a page:

Love That Smile using Vicki Boutin Let's Wander by Kerryn Fry

Hello everyone!
This week I have continued to create with the beautiful range,
Vicki Boutin's Let's Wander
I was scrolling through my photo archives on the weekend
and discovered this beauty, a young and totally cheeky Mr 15.
From memory, I think he was hiding in a rolled up fitness mat,
he thought it was hilarious!
The colours in the papers were spot on for the photo.
The page started with a simple, clean piece of Kraft cardstock.
I've let the bright colours in the papers stand out on the page.
The paper Day Tripping is the star piece,
absolutely love the rainbow of colours.
I've back the paper with black cardstock
and used a gold gel pen to add faux stitching between each colour.

The photo has also been backed with black cardstock
and then outlined with the gold gel pen.
The second paper under the photo Around Here
has given the photo a pop and definition from the colours in the base paper.
It has been added to the page with foam tape to add another layer.
I used a sticker from Cocoa Vanilla Studio Legendary,
to add a sub-title to the page.

The large camera was hand cut from Wish You Were Here.
It has been stuck down with foam tape
and decorated with hand cut stars from Chasing Stars

Another piece was cut from Wish You Were Here was used as a journal card.
The lower part of the photo and journal card have been decorated
with hand cut stars from both Chasing Stars and the Specialty Vellum.

The lower strips of paper are across the base of the page are
Sunshine & Smiles and Around here.
I've used another word sticker from Cocoa Vanilla Studio Legendary
and added a few more of the hand cut stars

The 2 Crafty title Love That Smile said it all for this page.
With the gold accents on the vellum stars,
I've inked the chipboard title with gold ink
and stuck it down on the raised stars.

A bright & cheery page to finish off the week.
Thanks for dropping by the blog today,
we hope you have a fabulous weekend.

The Good Stuff with Photoplay Paper A Day at the Park by Fiona Johnstone

Hello everyone

Another fun, theme park page this week. This time I have created my page using the Photoplay Paper collection - A Day at the Park. While technically a Disney themed range, with its red, yellow and black colour pallete it can work for much more.

The Good Stuff

With this layout I wanted to convey the feeling of being at the top of the ride so I designed my page around this idea and placing the photo in the top right corner of the page. I love the fireworks patterned paper I've used, teamed up with the more neutral checks and spots.

For my journaling I have fussy cut some of the words from the reverse of the Fireworks paper - perfect for theme park pics but also with a few more neutral phrases.

Next I've had a little dig through my stash to find some co-ordinating embellishments - including a few bits and pieces from the Simple Stories Say Cheese collections that I have a few of!

My title is old Fancy Pants I found in amongst my stash of black and white embellishments along with the large stars. I've created the little flutter of stars to add a little detail to the white space

Killin' it using Vicki Boutin Let's Wander by Kerryn Fry

Hi everyone!
This week I dived into the new collection,
Vicki Boutin Let's Wander.
Not travel photos, but the colours in this range are gorgeous
and they suited the action photos perfectly.
Mr 15 playing baseball for Men's Division Two team
and I manage to capture a great catch.

The base is my favourite Kraft Cardstock.
I've used a stencil from Let's Wander Stencils - Star Struck
and a number of Distress Inks to create the background effect.
Wild Honey, Twisted Citron and Chipped Sapphire worked well with the papers
Then using a white gel pen, I have highlighted sections of the stencilled pattern.

The stars on the page have been hand-cut from the paper Chasing Stars,
I've kept to the main colours in the papers used
and stuck them down with foam tape to create the dimension.

The Ephemera pack was great for the extra embellishments,
I've used foam tape to create layers between each piece
The smaller stars are also hand-cut from Chasing Stars

The tag is from the Ephemera Pack,
it has been stuck down with foam tape
and will used as a journal spot.
I've added some string for a little extra.

The chevrons were hand punched from the paper Fly Away with Me
and have been added to the page with more foam tape.
A close up of the background highlights the combination of colours
used through the stencil.

The page was finished with the 2 Crafty title Killin' It and 2 Crafty 2020,
both were covered with black ink and added to the page.

Thanks for visiting the blog today,
hopefully you have enjoyed the process.
Have a creative weekend
and join us again on Monday for Fiona's next project.

Shark Tales with Echo Park by Fiona Johnstone

Hey everyone

I've got a fun little layout today, inspired by the shark paper in the new Echo Park All Boy paper. It was just perfect for this photo taken at Dreamworld on our last Qld trip:

Shark Tales

I chose to focus on the shark paper with a nice long strip along the side of my page, teamed up with co-ordinating papers in blue and adding a pop of red.

For behind my photo I've created a small watercolour background using some dylusions paint. I've then dug into my stash to add some embellishments.

I've focused on the blue and red colours for embellishing and added some woodgrain & chipboard pieces to complete the page.

Rock Star using Cocoa Vanilla Studio Legendary by Kerryn Fry

Good morning everyone!
Today I'm sharing my first page created with the very cool collection,
Cocoa Vanilla Studio Legendary
I've gone BIG this week and started with a double page spread.
It captures a very proud moment with Mr 15
and his first band appearance.
There are lots of photos, plenty of embellishments
and a small amount of paper.

This page started with inspiration from Pinterest,
a sketch by sketchsupport.blogspot.com.
I've changed a few photo sizes
and added a few more embellishments.
The base for the page is my fav Bazzill Kraft cardstock
and then the photos were all stuck down.

The Ephemera pack is filled with the perfect embellishments,
some of the stars, journal spot and arrows were great additions
I've used a lot of foam tape to give dimension to the page.
The 2 Crafty Wire Stars have been covered with Wild Honey Distress Paint.
The 2 Crafty Mini Camera was covered with
Walnut Stain and Ground Expresso

The 2 Crafty Grass Clumps were painted in layers,
first layer is Twisted Citron and finished with Peeled Paint Distress Paint.
I've used a white gel pen to add a faux stitch line to the bottom of the grass.

The wood panel frame from the Ephemera pack
was great to highlight Mr 15 in a photo.
I have embellished the frame with more ephemera pieces
and some hand cut stars from All Star paper.

The Die Cut titles added some great words to the page,
they have been lifted with foam tape
and surrounded with more hand -cut stars.
A black gel pen was used to add faux stitch lines
to the vertical strips on either side of the photos.

The Accessory Stickers provided the journal spot
 and some inspirational words.
I have backed the words with patterned paper to give them a lift.

The words have been covered with Chipped Sapphire Distress Paint,
once dry I've doodled the letters with a white gel pen
and then finished of with a coat of Glossy Accents.
The guitar part has been covered with
Walnut Stain Distress Paint.

Thanks for dropping in to the blog today.
Please join us again on Monday for Fiona's next page.
Hope you have a fun and creative weekend.

Hello Sunshine
with Pinkfresh Studio My Favourite Story
by Fiona Johnstone

Hello everyone

Another layout with this stunning collection, it is just so beautiful!
I've saved that gorgeous rainbow paper for this layout:

Hello Sunshine

I've fussy cut one of the gorgeous rainbows from the Joyful Heart paper and made it a feature of my page. I've added some blue and green watercolour to some white cardstock to make my bcakground and mounted the cardstock onto the Best Chapter paper.

From these two close-ups you can see my watercolour background and my embellishments to my photo - two corner clusters with the floral ephemera some journaling words and a puffy heart.

My clouds I made by tracing around some chipboard clouds and fussy cutting, I was initially going to paint the chipboard, then decided to cut then out of paper to add a little more patterned paper print to the design. I edged the clouds with some white paint and the central cloud I mounted with tape then added a heart and some journaling.

My favourite part of the page is my title, I have used a mix of word/phrase stickers and some puffy hearts to decorate the title, co-ordinating the colours of my words with the colours in the rainbow.
