100% Boy using My Minds Eye Happy Days by Kerryn Fry

Hi everyone!
A new collection for me this week.
Today I'm sharing my first layout created with
My Minds Eye Happy Days.
It has gorgeous bright colours and I love the touch of pink.
The photo is another one from the archives,
Harrison age 5, riding his bike with rollerblades on.
What can I say!

A simple design this week.
The page was started with my usual favourite, Kraft cardstock.
I've added some interest to the background.

The 2 Crafty Zig Zag border is actually the centre piece.
This piece has become my sun,
I've painted it with Mustard Seed Distress Paint
and then swiped with gold metallic ink.
Once dry, I've applied a thick coat of Dimensional Magic

The house  and clouds have been hand cut from Ice Cream Dreams paper
and the cactus cut from Cheery Disposition.
I have added a faux stitched border to the clouds with a black pen
and all of the elements have been mounted on foam tape.
For something a little different, I have journalled around the pattern papers.

The 2 Crafty title 100% Boy has been given the same effect as the sun.
Painted with Distress Paint and then swiped with gold ink,
finishing with a thick coat of Dimensional Magic.
I love the sparkle of the gold ink in the light
and how the gold highlights the yellow on the bike.

That's all for this week.
Thanks for dropping by today.
and I hope you have a great weekend.

Hugs & Kisses, by Amanda Hartmann

Hi AAS fans!

Some paper purchases are so spontaneous... I loved the bright colours and adorable designs of the Doodlebug Designs French Kiss collection - I bought the papers with NO idea what to scrapbook with them! Then I found this photo of the kids, and with plenty of pink and blue and loads of love, it seemed perfect!

I started with the blue background paper -Just Rosey - because blue is always my go to colour in a range!

I cut two triangles for two corners, using the super fun French Café paper - oh those hearts!

The photo was mounted on various papers, and behind it is the City of Love paper.

I used lots of stickers to finish, as you can see in the close ups. I put them in a diagonal design and included longer stickers across the page under the photo.
I used stickers from the This & That Cardstock Stickers sheet and the Icons Cardstock Stickers sheet.

How cute is that pink poodle? Almost as cute as these kids!
Thanks for looking!

Happy Times with Cocoa Vanilla Studio Happiness collection by Fiona Johnstone

Hello everyone

Very excited this week to have had the chance to create with the beautiful new Cocoa Vanilla Studio collection Happiness.  The colours are divine and always love the fabulous range of embellishments.

Happy Times

For this layout, I wanted to use the heart die-cut. This comes with a backing sheet, but I decided to use that for something else and just use the heart. To make it stand out I chose a plain patterned paper so it didn't get lost in the pattern.

Next I layered up some papers to suit my photo and centred this onto the heart background before digging into those fab embellishments.

Love the flowers clusters in the ephemera pack, it is always my first choice of CVS embellishments and I've used it with a few other select pieces.

I've finished off the page with a fun flair button - these are always super cute!! The title is from the ephemera pack, but be sure to check out the die-cut titles pack for more title ideas here

My Boy using Kaisercraft Scrap Studio by Kerryn Fry

Morning all & happy Friday!
Today I'm sharing the first page I've created using the collection
Kaisercraft Scrap Studio.
I used the papers with green/blue tones and natural colours
to work with the photo.
The photo is of a very young, then Mr 3 in 2007.
A time when he didn't mind the camera,
being very photogenic and super cute.

The page was started with my favourite Kraft Cardstock base.
It worked perfectly with the colours used from this collection.
I've used a Crafters Workshop 6x6 Template with a few different Distress Oxides
on the bottom half of the page for a background effect.
The patterned papers have been layered in the top half of the page.
I've used a few strips from Splatter paper under the photo to blend
the join between the cardstock and the Tarnished paper.

There is plenty of 2 Crafty Chipboard on this page.
The 2 Crafty Chained Circle Frame and Chain length have been painted
with Tarnished Brass Distress Paint.
I swiped them both with a Gold Ink pad to add a second layer
and then finished with some gold glitter glue for extra highlights.

The 2 Crafty #Handsome has been covered with gold ink
and then finished with Dimensional Magic.

I have used the negative part of the 2 Crafty Heart Silhouettes.
They have been covered with Faded Jeans Distress Paint
and then I have painted the edges with Chipped Sapphire.
I have randomly stamped with gold ink and script stamp
and then added a few touches of gold glitter glue.

The 2 Crafty Indian feathers have been painted with
two different Distress Paint, Faded Jeans and Evergreen Bough.
I've then added the random gold stamping and more glitter glue.
The Collectables pack was fantastic to add some embellishments to the page.
The butterflies, small doily and bingo card.
The quote was hand cut from the bottom strip of the patterned paper.
I've added some foam tape to a few elements to give the page some dimension.

The 2 Crafty title My Boy has been painted with Evergreen Bough Distress Paint.
Th second layer is small amounts of Tarnished Brass Distress Paint.
Once everything was dry, I have used a script stamp and gold ink.
The final layer is touches of gold glitter glue.

"Relax", by Amanda Hartmann

Hello again AAS fans!
Here is my page today using one of the new collections from Kaisercraft: Paradise Found
With a beach photos of Abby, this range was perfect.
And I shouted myself the stamp and diecut set this time, and they were so fun to create and use.

I used a single panel of By the Sea paper (the spots) down the page, on a sheet of Kraft cardstock as the base. I did some subtle stencil work on the background, which you will see in the close ups.

I mounted the photos on some neutral paper (Salt Water) and layered this on the soft peach-pink of Tropic Vibes and then the reverse of By the Sea. Love a good stack of photos and papers!

As mentioned, I used the stamp and die set to stamp and then cut some of the tropical leaves, a flower and the word Relax. I also used the larger decorative die  to cut some tropical leaves. I used neutral side of the By the Sea paper for all of this. For colour, I coloured the diecuts with some Distress Oxide Ink Pads (mixed with water) in Candied ApplePeeled Paint.

Looking at the stencil work - I used a sponge with Distress Oxide Ink Pad - Peeled Paint to add soft leaves, using the Tropical Leaves 6x6 stencil, onto the Kraft background.

By adding splatters of Colour Blast Shimmer Spray in Envy, it created a wonderful oxidized effect with the leaf patterns.
The final touches to mention, is the use of the lovely glass top Paradise Found Curios - I loved the effect of these on the page. And as I often do, I saved one of the paper strips from the 12x12 papers and used it on the page. In this instance I used the quote: "All I need is a palm tree and an ocean breeze" - a simple and easy element to add to any page!

I love this paper range and I am even more excited about all my tropical stamps, diecuts and stencils - I know I will use these so many more times!

Thanks for looking,

Sweetness with CVS Midnight by Fiona Johnstone

Hello everyone

This week I am using up some of my leftovers from Cocoa Vanilla Studios Midnight Collection while I finish off some pages with the new Happiness collection.

For my papers - the pretty pink stripe makes a lovely backdrop for my photos against white cardstock, then I've cut up some banners and tucked them under the stripe.
To add some extra layers to my page, I have added some of the frames from the ephemera pack, and a doily!

Then I've used embellishments from the chipboard, sticker and ephemera packets from the Midnight Collection. Then I added some sploshes of watered down Dylusions Paint to finish off my page.
Thanks for stopping by
Till next week

Day at the Beach using Kaisercraft Deep Sea by Kerryn Fry

Hi Everyone!
I'm back today with my second page
created with the collection Kaisercraft Deep Sea
The shades of blue and green in this collection are fabulous.
The photos are Mr then 7, attempting to fly a kite with Dad.

The page started with the gorgeous Mermaid Scales Specialty paper as the base.
A few layers of patterned paper and some fussy cutting.
I've hand cut some shells, pebbles and foliage from the Tide paper,
then combined them with a few elements from the Collectables pack.

Plenty of focus on my favourite thing this week, 2 Crafty chipboard.
The octopus, seahorse and crab are all from the 2 Crafty Sea Creatures pack
I've base coated each piece with gesso and set them aside to dry.
The 2 Crafty Sea Grass has been sponged with a combination
of Distress Paints Scattered Straw,  Brushed Corduroy and Frayed Burlap.
The seahorse was also sponged using Distress Paints Tumbled Glass,
Stormy Sky and Chipped Sapphire.

The chipboard title Day at the Beach has been given a
layer of Charcoal Ink and let dry.
Once dry, I have given the title a finishing coat

The chipboard Octopus has been covered with a two-tone finish
of Distress Paints Evergreen Bough and Broken China.
The starfish was sponged with multiple Distress Paints
Once dry, I covered them with Dimensional Magic
and have used foam tape to lift each piece.

I have used similar colours on all of the chipboard pieces
to tone in with the colours of the collection.
Using the hand-cut elements, I have embellished across the base of the page.
The 2 Crafty Kites were the perfect final pieces.
They were hand painted with a brush using Distress Paint
and scribbled some borders on them with a black pen.
I have also framed the photo with black pen.

That's my page for this week.
I hope you have enjoyed the project
and have a very happy, scrappy weekend.
Please join us again on Monday for Fiona's next page.

Adventure, by Amanda Hartmann

Hi all,

Welcome to March!
Today I am sharing a page created with the new My Minds Eye collection - Gingham Farm
I love the mix of patterns and the black and neutral colour palette.
After looking at my photo, I decided the gold tones were perfect to add to the page.

I started with a sheet of black cardstock and then layered papers: Madi & Molly.
I combined these with some black machine stitching.

A feature of my page is the 2Crafty Harlequin Clumps chipboard. I embossed this in gold.
I placed it in three locations on the page as the base of my clusters.

To the right of the photo, I placed the chipboard with some stickers from Gingham Farm Accessory Cardstock Stickers.

In the top right corner, I layered the chipboard with some messy threads, muslin and more stickers.

You can also see the gold Splatters made on the page in these close ups. I used Colour Blast Shimmer Spray in Bling to do this.

For the title below the photo, I used more of the gold harlequin chipboard and layered more messy thread and muslin, before placing the 2Crafty chipboard quote on top. The chipboard "Let the adventure begin" has been embossed in black. I also tucked some more stickers in there.

And then a few more word strip stickers on the edge of the photo.

I love how the gold worked out with the colour tones of this paper collection.

Thanks for looking.
