More Simple Stories I Am by Fiona Johnstone

Hello everyone

Back again with another layout using the Simple Stories I Am Collection.
This is the perfect collection for scrapping about yourself, and this week
I have taken a selfie and utilized the I am words on the sticker sheet
 to create this page:

This is Me:

Love the big gold foil "I AM" on the base paper and its flowers and sequins, these
 inspired my additional embellishments.

There are lots of words on the sticker sheet you can choose from, and I chose the
ones I felt were applicable to me.

I want the words to be the main feature on my page, so I did some simple embellishing, with this flower cluster, using flowers in complimenting colours to the floral paper and the gorgeous feathers on the sticker sheet.

Thanks for stopping by, till next week
Fiona

7 Dots Studio "Destination Unknown" & Kaisercraft "On Stage" - By Linda Eggleton

Hi everyone :)

Today I am back to share another layout using the fabulous

It is predominantly a travel themed collection, but it would easily adapt to  other themes, especially masculine pages.  My page is travel themed, but not in the sense of travel as we know it today!
My hubby's G. G. G. G. Grandparents both came to Australia on the First Fleet....I'm sure, for them, it really was a case of "Destination Unknown"!  hehe

I have been wanting to do something on this subject for many years...and this 7 Dots collection was just the perfect choice to finally get it done :)

I also have to mention that the quality of these papers is amazing...I just love the thickness of them, which makes adding some mixed media to them a breeze...there is none of that buckling & warping that you usually get with thinner papers!!

"7 Years Beyond the Seas"
This is what they were both sentenced to - 7 years Transportation beyond the seas!

I chose the reverse side of the Walk The Plank paper with its lighter colours & subtle patterns for my background, giving me a large scope in choice of what to add for some background work.
I've gone for some stencil work using Memory Box Rings & Puddles stencil with some modelling paste, and then some small patches of random stamping using Kaisercraft Script & Tiny Dot stamps....plus there's a few small splashes of glimmermist on there too.

I've added a rustic little cluster of a few different pieces of 2Crafty chippies - Gears & Dotty Bits, a Petaloo Burlap sunflower that I have altered the colour, using a variety of different ink sprays & mists, a Flutterby Flair & a few smaller Petaloo Darjeeling mini blooms & pieces from the Destination Unknown Element diecut sheet.  I've left all the 2Crafty pieces raw, but have added a few swipes of light inking & gesso to them.

At the bottom right of the photo I've used one of the 2Crafty 6" clock face frames...and my title is a mix of different alpha stickers (see products list below)

Here's a close up of some of the background stamping & stenciling

For my paper layers, I started off by cutting out the 2 half circles from the reverse side of the Night Sky paper, and that was the base that I then added more pieces of varying sizes & shapes - some some of them were cut leftover pieces from my previous Destination Unknown layout.
I fiddled around with their placement until I was happy with the look.
I am a "do not stick anything down until happy" kinda gal...lol

I finished the page off by adding a variety of pieces from the Elements diecut sheet and placed them up on foam tape, such as the arrows, the star & the little tab piece...which helped to give a bit of dimension to the page.  I have also inked & distressed all the edges of each paper & diecut piece.

Again, I have a HEAP of journaling to add to the back of the page - there is lots to tell about these 2, including the information behind their crimes & sentences & then their life here in Australia.

Just a little side note:-  Obviously, I did not take the pic! lol
It was found online & downloaded :)

Next I have my DT work for Kaisercraft using the "On Stage" collection.
perfect for all those muscical/performing photos to get scrapped!

It is full of fabulous colours & patterns....and here is what I have created with it.

"You Rock"

I've used a variety of papers in behind the photo, plus some papers from the paper pad....and there's lots of collectables & Sticker pieces in there too :)

I've used the Encore piece for the background....I just love those musical circles going around the page!

Here's a few close ups....

There's so many fabulous music orientated pieces in this collection...and some really cool verses too!

Here is an example of some of the cool sayings from the sticker sheet

Also lots of star pieces in the Collectables pack & on the Sticker Sheet.
I have added a few wooden veneers from my stash as well.

I am yet to add my journaling (story of my life lately!!! lol)
I created a little pocket at the side of my paper layers & have used one of the pieces cut from the Arts paper as my journal card.  The pic is of my son when his band played their first ever gig at a club in Canberra.  This pic was not taken by me either....it was taken by one of my son's friends - Angus Mok Photography :)

"Good Times"

I have used one of the Collectables note pieces together with a few flowers to create a cluster, and have finished it off with a few leaves cut from the new Kaisercraft Leaves decorative die....which comes with dies for a few different sized & shaped leaves!!

The little verse is from the Sticker sheet that I cut into smaller pieces to fit the card :)

Simple Stories I Am by Fiona Johnstone

Hello everyone

I have the gorgeous Simple Stories "I Am" collection to share with you over the remaining two Tuesdays of this month. This is a stunning collection, very much suited to more feminine photos, especially created for us to scrap ourselves!!

My layout for today is titled: I am so Lucky

Love these two more than anything else and very lucky to have them in my life!! They are the most important people to me, so only fitting that they are the main thing I am.

I've used this beautiful wall background paper that comes with this smattering of circle hearts on it. I have just added a little bit of brickwork stamping, in teal, followed by some tiny dots in black.

I've continued the heart theme with one of my papers and some of the stickers from the collection. I love the teal and black in this range and these dominate my colour scheme. I've used some pops of gold to complete my design.

As I did a few weeks ago, I used my AC Amy Tan Lucky Accent words and painted them gold to match my layout:

My layout is complete with this cute little cluster of flowers and hearts.

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you have been inspired to try out this gorgeous range. I will be back with another in this range next week!

7 Dots Studio "Thoughts Keeper" & Kaisercraft "Furry Friend" - by Linda Eggleton

Good morning everyone :)

Today I am back to share another layout using the gorgeous Thoughts Keeper range from 7 Dots.
Oh my, this is such a super pretty collection!

"Enduring Love"

I couldn't go past using the pretty paper No. 1 for my background - it has some gorgeous subtle patterns of text print & some tiny soft floral/leafy bits in white as well.  It's one of those papers that you can get by without adding anything to the background.

Having said that, I have added a bit of background work - I first added the runs/drips of mists/sprays, using Glimmermist & Distress Stains.  Using an eyedropper, I added a good sized "drop" & then held the page upright so that it would run down the page.  I repeated this with a few different colours until I was happy with the look.  I then added some stencil work with 2 different Crafters Workshop templates - Tile Texture & Tiny Circle with some modelling paste.....and finished off with some stamping using Kaisercraft Crackle & Tiny Dot stamp in a downward flowing motion to tie in with the mist runs.

I've also used LOTS of yummy 2Crafty chippie pieces as well <3

Here's a few close ups...

I absolutely LOVE these new Petaloo burlap flowers, the one I've used here is Ivory Wild Sunflower, and I've mixed it in with a few Green Tara Cherry Blossoms & Gardenias, and another new Petaloo favourite, the Kraft Wild Butterflies...they are simply divine!
The diecut leaves are using one of Kaisercraft's new decorative dies, Berry Vine...and I've cut them using a few different coloured papers.

Here you can see some of the background work....and the really trendy 2Crafty Dotty Bits!
These have been coated in Gesso & then coloured by painting on a few different coloured mists until I was happy with the colour.  There is also a few stickers from the Elements Sticker sheet,  that I've placed vertically in amongst the Dotty Bits & diecut leaves.

The heart frame around the photo is another 2Crafty piece - Hand drawn Heart Frame....and I've also used the negative heart piece that separates the 2 frames that comes in the pack.  The hand drawn piece is simply painted in white using Gesso, and the negative piece at the back is coated in Gesso then coloured using a variety of mists.  I have tilted the frames at a slight angle so that they didn't chop off anyone in the gorgeous photo!

There's also another cluster of flowers....again the gorgeous Petaloo Burlap Teal Pointsettia & Kraft Wild Butterflies.....and more Green Tara Cherry Blossoms & Gardenias.

These sweet little Flying Birds are one of my favourite 2Crafty pieces....I absolutely LOVE them, & they can be used on just about any themed layout.  I have coated them in Gesso & then coloured again with mists.

The title is using one of the 2Crafty Line Words - Love
I have trimmed down the line section of this piece so that it fit nicely on the page where I wanted the title to go.  Again coated in Gesso & then coloured by painting on a variety of mists.

In under the photo & Heart Frames, I've added a few layers of Thoughts Keeper papers,
Paper No's 3, 6 & 2.  There's also a few stickers from the Element's Sticker sheet
here & there on the page.

I am really happy with how this layout came out :)))
I think being inspired by these gorgeous papers & also the photo is what made it all come together so well.  The pic is another that I've recently been given....my Great Aunt & Uncle who were married in the 1920's.  Again, I have a heap of journaling to add to the back of the page - their story is just beautiful & amazing...and it needs to be told for future generations to know - the reason why I love to journal on my pages :)

Next I have some of my Kaisercraft DT work, using the very cute "Furry Friends" collection

"Mr Oscar"

I've used a variety of papers cut into different sized squares & rectangles...then I just played around with their positioning until I was happy with the look.

I have added some stamping on the background using both stamp sets that come with this collection - Dogs, which is cute little paw prints.... & Cats, which is a heap of cat/pet related words & meanings.

Here I've created a small cluster of blooms, Collectables & Sticker pieces, as well as some die cut leaves using the gorgeous new  Kaisercraft "Berry Vine" die.  This is one of my new fav's :)

Some of the paper layers....and you can also see a bit of the background stamping.

Mr Oscar title is Kaisercraft alpha stickers - I really love the size of these alpha's...
not too big & not too small!

I've used a few of the cut off strips, stickers & collectables pieces added to the top of the page.

And here's a close up of the main area of the page.
Pic is a selfie of Mr Oscar & myself <3

Furry Friends – Best Friend P1781,  Fur-Baby P1782,  Loyal P1787,  Pet P1783,  Four Legged P1785,  Companion P1780,  Dog Sticker Sheet SS277,  Dog Clear Stamp Set CS210,  Cat Clear Stamp Set CS209,  Berry Vine Decorative Die DD522,  Natural Alpha Stickers AS254,  Honey Paper Blooms F628,  Terracotta Paper Blooms F635,  Honey Mini Paper Blooms F645,  Foam Tape T303
Other – Distress & Archival Ink

Next up is a canvas....

"Mr Bruno"

I've added some fabulous texture to the background of the canvas using Kaisercraft Triangles template & some modelling paste....then coloured it with some mists & finished it off with some dabbing of more mists & some random stamping using Kaisercraft Triangles stamp.

I've used some of the stickers & collectables pieces to embellish the canvas...and the title is KC alpha stickers that I have made a darker brown using Faber-Castell Big Brush Pen in brown.

I've used a variety of papers to layer in under the photo & also added some
wood veneer arrows from my stash.

Here's a close up view of the textured background.

The chevron pieces across the canvas are from both sticker sheets - cat & dog.

Furry Friends – Pet P1783,  Loyal P1787,  Four-Legged P1785,  Dog Sticker Sheet SS277,  Cat Sticker Sheet SS276,  Triangles Template T615,  Triangles Texture Stamp CS150,  Natural Alpha Stickers AS254
Other – Wood Veneers, Glimmermist,  Distress Ink, Modelling Paste, Canvas

Kaisercraft On Stage by Fiona Johnstone

Hello

This week I am sharing the third of the Kaisercraft releases for this month, On Stage. A great collection for scrapping anyone with a love of music, dance or the stage!!!

My first share for this week: I Love Music

I love this musical note paper, it is VERY busy so I left it as is, but framed it with the plainer curtain paper. I've taken some chipboard and inked it in an off white, then used my music notes stamp to blend it with the paper while giving some subtle texture.

I've layered some of the darker coloured papers under my black and white photo and added some of the collectibles and sticker sheets as usual as they are such a great addition to the collections.

My title is from one of the Collectibles too, and then I've added a musical symbol from the pack too:

And a final shot of this layout:

Of course, there is always the B sides to the paper that you can create anything with. I have been waiting for this colour combo to scrap some Halloween photos. I've gotten out the Dylusions and Distress stain sprays to create my background, before adding some stamping and paint splatters.

I've torn all the edges of my papers and layered some gauze between the layers to create lots of texture. I've added flowers in the form of chipboard flower medallions and the white resin flower.

I've used some random stickers and just a couple of the plainer pieces from the Collectables collection.

And finishing off the page with the 2Crafty title Bewitched, I've painted in black ink and coated with some crackle paint. More detail of the gauze under the paper layers too.

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you've been inspired to try out this collection, in store now.
