Chill with Photoplay Monterey Bay & Echo Park All Boy by Fiona Johnstone

Hello everyone

I have another layout to share using Photoplays Monterey Bay and Echo Park All Boy collections. The colours in these two collections really compliment each other.

Chill

When I saw the cute little beach house paper I knew it would be perfect for this photo I had of the girls relaxing on the giant Beach chairs at Dreamworld after a busy day! So I decided to do a big strip of the beach house paper , then fussy cut one to mount as an added embellishment.

I teamed the paper with colours from the beach houses - dark and light blues and red.  Kraft is always the perfect cardstock for a beachy background.  I added a little banner from the paper to add a little interest to the top left corner of my page before adding my embellishment clusters

My title is an older Thicker words set - Chill sums it up pretty well!

A cute litte tag from some Christmas paper, a flair and some enamel dots to finish off the simple embellishments.

Thanks for stopping by
Till next week

Sweet Cheeks using Pebbles Peek-A-Boo You by Kerryn Fry

Happy Friday everyone.
Today I'm sharing a page that was created with
Pebbles Peek-A-Boo You
A sweet collection with a soft colours.
Another photo from the archives,
a very young Master H, such a cutie!

Back to my favourite this week, Kraft Cardstock to start the page.
Some very simple & subtle stamping in the background,
using Kaisercraft Textured Stamp Gritty and gold ink.
The patterned paper Adventure Awaits is the main paper on the page.

The 2 Crafty Kite has been given a base coat with gesso,
then painted with Bundled Sage and Fossilized Amber Distress Paint.
I've used a black pen to outline the kite.
The Cardstock Ephemera  had the perfect embellishments for the page.
The banner was adhered to the page with foam tape
and then I'v added some faux stitching.
Love the cloud and sun,
I've outlined the cloud with faux stitching as well.
The strips at the bottom of the patterned papers
were also a fantastic addition to the page.

No hand cutting required this week.
All of the embellishments can be found in the Cardstock Ephemera pack.
Lots of foam tape used to add layers to the page
and more outlining with black pen.

I've added a patterned paper matte to the photo
and then outlined the photo.
The cardstock elephant was used to frame the photo.

The heart at the bottom of the page has been add with foam tape
and the cardstock branches added a little foliage to the page.
I've used patterned paper to base the heart.

The 2 Crafty title Sweet Cheeks has been covered with gesso first
and once dry, it has been inked with Gold Ink.

A simple, clean page to showcase a beautiful photo.
Thank for visiting the blog today,
have a wonderful weekend and keep busy.

Happy Birthday with Vicki Boutin Let's Wander by Fiona Johnstone

Hello everyone

My layout today is created using the super popular Vicki Boutin Let's Wander collection.

Happy Birthday

For my base I was inspired by one of Vicki's techniques over on her Mixed Media FB page, be sure to go and check it out! I've used inks to create my background on a piece of thick plastic - technique is the same as the plastic bag technique but you swipe the ink rather than splosh it on. Then I've added some sploshes and stamped a butterfly.

I've chosen the flowers as they match my Mums dress and the page is about her birthday!  I've fussy cut the flowers and then arranged them in clusters:

I've hit the ephemera packs for embellishments and finished off with a title from some thickers I have that are all birthday/party themed words - they are pretty cool!

Together using Simple Stories I am by Kerryn Fry

Hi everyone!
Today I am sharing my first page created with
the collection Simple Stories I am
This is such a pretty collection,
the combination of rich colours is divine.
The photo is three of my beautiful nieces.

I've started the page with Vanilla Cardstock.
The background effect has been created with the plastic packaging technique.
Using Distress Inks Fossilized Amber, Abandoned Coral and Picked Raspberry.
I have added layers of the colours to the page with water and plastic.

I've layered papers and torn edges under the photo
and top left corner.
The small hearts are from the Cardstock Stickers
and the word Blessed is from the Journal Bits.
They have been added to the page with foam tape.

The butterflies were hand cut from the 2x2 Elements page
and the tags created from the patterned papers.
I've added some string bows for the finishing touches.
The Crushin It Ribbon is from the Cardstock Stickers

The flowers, envelope and words
have been hand cut from the 4x4 Elements paper.
I've used foam tape to create more layers
and balance the page.

The 2 Crafty word Together is from the 6x6 Summertime pack.
I have covered it with Gold Brillliance Ink.
The same ink has been used to stamp the background of the cardstock
Thank you for visiting the blog today
and I hope you have a creative & relaxing weekend.

Happy Heart with Pinkfresh Studio Noteworthy by Fiona Johnstone

Hello everyone

This week I have created a layout using the fantastic Noteworthy collection by Pinkfresh Studio. Stunning colours in the this collection.

Happy Heart
I made a light waterground background for this layout using some Distress Oxide Inks. I stamped onto plastic, added some water and used the bag technique. I then added some sploshes of ink.

Lots of pretty patterns in this paper collection, I have layered up a couple for my page then went to work embellishing.

I've used the ephemera, mixed embellishments and enamel dots for this layout and teamed them up with some wood veneer by Cocoa Vanilla Studio. I've added a little cotton thread for some added texture.

You can see I have done three matching clusters to my layout

My title was created with the Cocoa Vanilla Studio wood veneer alphas. I love these natural!

#Awesome using Cocoa Vanilla Studio Legendary by Kerryn Fry

Hello AAS friends!
The page I'm sharing today was created using the collection,
Cocoa Vanilla Legendary
The B&W photo is from 2009, first year of school for Mr H
and his very first walk-a-thon.

No cardstock background this week,
I couldn't resist using the wood panel paper Outdoors Type .
I've layered the patterned papers under the photo
and matted the photo with patterned paper and black cardstock

The words are from the Accessory Stickers,
they have been backed with black cardstock
and added to the page with foam tape.
I've doodled around the edges of some paper layers with black pen.

Most of the stars have been hand cut from the All Stars paper.
I've also added some from the Ephemera pack
and created two clusters of stars on the page,
layering them with foam tape.

The second cluster of stars stretch to the top of the page,
and are embellished with Ephemera pieces.

The 'Legend' badge is a die-cut from the Ephemera pack
and I've added two strips of patterned paper underneath to pop the orange.

The 'Hey Good Lookin' is from the Ephemera pack,
it has been added to the page with foam tape
and outlined with black pen.

The 2 Crafty title #Awesome has been covered with Ripe Persimmon Distress Paint
once it had dried, it was stamped with black ink.
The final coat is Glossy Accents.

Just love the colours against the wood panel paper.
Thanks for visiting the Blog today,
we hope you have a chance to be creative over the weekend.
Join us again on Monday for Fiona's next page.

Good Times Together with Simple Stories by Fiona Johnstone

Hi everyone

This weeks layout is created with a mix of Simple Stories papers and the
stunning Prima Capri flowers:

Good Times Together

The floral paper in the Simple Stories Going Places range was perfect for this photo of my daughter and her cousin, it was the base for my design, I've teamed it up with another paper in the collection and then another Simple Stories range - Hip Hop Hooray!

Once I had these in place, I've added a light background - some Distress Oxide Ink in Peacock Feathers along the base used as a water colour, then added some splatters in the same colour, along with some yellow and blue.

I adore these Prima Capri flowers, the perfect colours for my photo and team well with the patterned paper too. I added some Matt Board leaf pieces and used some copper embossing powder on them to finish off my cluster.

My title is Celebr8 Matt Board which I have inked in Indigo ink so it stands out nicely on the patterned background paper.  Finished with a little heart sticker!

Because being Together using Vicki Boutin Let's Wander by Kerryn Fry

Good morning everyone!
Today I am sharing another page created with the colourful range,
Vicki Boutin Let's Wander.
You've probably guessed by now that I am loving this collection!
How can you not smile when you look at the papers.
The black & white photo is Mr 15 and his 2nd cousin,
taken back in 2015 at Bonython Park.

Starting with Bazzill Kraft cardstock, no surprise there.
and a white ink pad, I have created the background effect.
I've randomly applied both Distress Inks with a sponge
and then softened the colurs with the white ink.
I've used a gold pen to outline a few of the hearts.

At the top of the page, I've made use of the bottom strips of two patterned papers
and then hand punched chevrons from Around Here.
The 'Date' sticker is from Cocoa Vanilla Legendary Accessory Stickers
and then stars hand cut from Chasing Stars.
Just under the title, you can see a glimpse of the backing cardboard

The journal card is from Wish You Were Here,
I've highlighted the black stars with a gold pen
and added an embellishment with foam tape from the Ephemera Icon Pack

The two  embellishment clusters on the page have been created
with a mixture of embellishments from the Ephemera Icon Pack
and hand cut flowers from Sunshine & Smiles.
The variety of leaves have been cut down from the larger leaf pieces.

The larger embellishment cluster has been created with the similar pieces
and then I have hand cut the banners from Fly Away with Me.
I have decorated the centre of the large flowers with Ranger Stickles Glitter Glue

The same Glitter Glue has been used to highlight features on the butterflies.
The embellishment cluster has been built up using foam tape.

has been cut into two pieces and placed above and below the photo.
The title has been covered with black ink
and then I have highlight random parts with a gold pen.
