Last layout with Cocoa Vanilla Studio's "Made of Awesome" - By Linda Eggleton

Hello everyone

I am back to share my last layout for August using the fabulous

As it's a male orientated collection, I've used photos of my son & his band, that were taken for a cover shoot for a CD they made, which tied in with the colours of the papers.  This has been a fun collection to work with, and is one of those collections that you'd want 2 of each page, because both sides of each page are so good that you'd want to get the benefit of using both sides!

"Cover Shoot"

I've used the woodgrain side of the Boys Rule paper for the background and have layered a few papers & 2Crafty & Ephemera diecut frames under the photos before embellishing.

This is one of the coolest pieces in the Ephemera pack - a viewfinder piece that I've backed with a piece of the grey side of the Directions paper, then topped it off with mmore Ephemera pieces - an arrow & the You Rock piece, which is up on foam tape.

The filmstrip piece is also from the Ephemera pack - this pack is so full of amazing pieces (I still have so many pieces left!), and the tickets are from the Accessory sticker sheet.

Here you can see one of the 2Crafty Polaroid Frames, that I've cut in half & used the other piece at the top of the page.  Title is using both sets of stickers on the alpha sticker sheet, and there's also one of the tickets poking out the side of the photo, and some of the vellum stars as well.

Another of the frames from the Ephemera pack, and the other half of the filmstrip.  The 100% Pure Awesome sticker is also up on foam tape for some added height.

Here is the other half of the 2Crafty polaroid frame that has been coated white in gesso, with one of the Made of Awesome flairs popped on top....surrounding that is another piece cut from one of the Ephemera frames.

And some more of the Vellum & Ephemera stars and another of the fab tickets.

Thanks so much for dropping by today & I hope you have been inspired by this
wonderful collection over the last 4 weeks :)

Simple Stories So Rad - You Rock my World by Fiona Johnstone

Hello everyone

My last share for this month, again using Simple Stories So Rad collection. I have loved working with this  collection, fabulous for layouts of my boy.

Today's layout is You Rock My World

I've used the newsprint paper as a background for this layout and added some Dylusions ink to the to add more pop to the colours in the patterned papers. I've used lots of the bluer papers in the collection with a bit of orange and the cork paper which creates an illusion of added texture.

The "You Rock My World" title is a 2Crafty piece which I have inked in two colours drawn from the papers - the lighter teal and a little more orange.

This cute guitar is from the Sticker sheet as are the stars, the enamel dots are also part of the So Rad collection.

I've added a 3 piece banner to the top left corner of the layout and finished off with some extra stickers and a cool Flutterby Designs Flair button.

Thanks for stopping by
Till next week

Cocoa Vanilla Studio "Made of Awesome" & Kaisercraft "Time Machine" - By Linda Eggleton

Hello everyone & welcome to another Friday post.

I am still playing with the amazing "Made of Awesome" collection from Cocoa Vanilla Studios, and have my 3rd layout with this collection to share.  This time I've used some older photos ......

"Front Yard Cricket"
My layout is based on Stuck Sketches mid month sketch.

I have used the grey side of the Directions paper for the background...which as this really cool, subtle pattern all over it.  I've also used a small piece of the orange side of the Lucky Star paper at the top of the page.

Here I've clustered up a few embellishments - Pieces from the Ephemera pack, tickets, stickers, vellum stars & one of the fab flairs.

The little skull & crossbone piece was cut from the Mixed Up paper, and you can also see one of the tickets that I've cut in half lengthways poking out from under one of the
border pieces in the Ephemera pack.

I've used another of the 2Crafty smiley faces...they are so cute!
I have coated it in gesso & then painted it with Kaisercraft Orange MIST.
There's also some more Ephemera pieces here across the top of the paper layers...and the other half of the ticket mentioned earlier :)

Photos are my brother & cousin from around 1970/71 playing cricket in the front yard....a great find recently going through my mums old photos.

The title is using the Made of Awesome alpha stickers.

Next I have a layout using another amazing collection - Kaisercraft's Time Machine.
This collection is just WOW...so many fantastic patterns & colours which are well suited to vintage style pages.....

"Time is a Great Storyteller"

I have used the reverse side of both the Steam Engine & Gadget papers for the background...joining them with one of the border stickers from the sticker sheet & the
cut off strip from the bottom of the Gadget paper.  The photo has been layered up on a 2 pieces of both sides of the Coggler paper....with the edges being inked & distressed.

I've used a variety of flowers & collectables pieces for my cluster, as well as some
2Crafty gears & Flutterby flair.

The flourish scroll is Maggie's Swirls & has been inked straight onto the raw chipboard.
I've added a few small Petaloo blooms on & around the swirl.

The larger rectangle piece is a lovely verse from the Collectables pack & the smaller pieces are from the sticker sheet.

I've added quite a few of the clock & cog collectables pieces around my photo area...cutting the ones that are only partially showing in half & using elsewhere on the page.

The 2Crafty gear has been inked with distress ink, and there's a small flower cluster
of Green Tara & Petaloo blooms.

Another of the 2Crafty Gears with a Kaisercraft Mini paper bloom on top....and some more beautiful pieces from the Collectables pack.

Here's a close up of the main area of the page.
I've used one of the Collectables pieces, "Time is a Great Storyteller" as my title.

The photo is of my Granny & her first 3 children - taken in 1931 <3

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by & see my work...I do hope you have been inspired by both of these wonderful collections :) xx

Kaisercraft A Touch of Gold by Fiona Johnstone

Hello everyone

This week I am playing with one of the new Kaisercraft releases - A Touch of Gold. Love the black, gold and white colour combo, it is so striking.

My layout today is: A Moment Captured

Managed to catch this shot while taking a few photos of our pup Harry earlier this year. It was taken in the evening so I have a nice black background which takes up a lot of the photo space.

To continue the black, white and gold theme, I have created my background using gelatos and some masking, before adding a selection of papers from the Touch of Gold range.

I have used 2Craftys A Moment Captured title and their new Aidans Arrows as features on my layout. The title has been coloured with a gold gelato and the Arrows with black ink, then some white gesso before finishing off with some of the gold gelato.

A close-up of my stickers and banner  that adorn the bottom corner of my photo - the words are from the Touch of Gold Collectibles pack and the stars sticker from Bella Boulevard.

A final close-up, more detail of the masking and gelato misted background, another of the Aidans arrows, Harry's name in a Collectibles piece with a little paw print to finish off.

Thanks for stopping by
Till next week

Cocoa Vanilla Studio "Made of Awesome" by Linda Eggleton

Hi everyone & welcome.

I am back to share another layout created with Cocoa Vanilla Studio's Made of Awesome collection.
This time I've created a bit of a travel/holiday layout of my son & his girlfriend.

"Go See Do"

I have used the Awesome paper for the background, and have left it with no background work as I really love the design of the paper :)  I've used one of the pieces cut from the Mixed Up paper for the title .... Go - See - Do

I've added a cluster of Green Tara flowers, Made of Awesome flair & vellum stars, and a few diecut leaves using the grey side of the Directions paper.  There's also a few stickers here & there as well.

Lots more stickers used here

The cute little sun is one of the 2Crafty Dancing suns that I've coloured orange with my big brush pens, and I've also added a few stars - both from the Vellum stars pack & the diecut Ephemera pack.

I have cut a few of the frame pieces in half from the Ephemera pack, and placed them at opposite sides of the photo area...purposely staggering them so that everything wasn't so uniform.

I've made a couple of little tags using patterned papers & an old tag in my stash as a template
& then added some adhesive ring eyelets.  I also included a few coloured paper clips & one of the 2Crafty geotags - again coloured orange with my big brush pens.

I've also used more of the fabulous tickets from this collection - they come in a pack with 5 different coloured tickets & 5 different designs....they are awesome!

That is all from me for another week.
I hope you have been inspired by this AMAZING collection :)

Thanks for dropping by....xx

Simple Stories So Rad - Silly Faces by Fiona Johnstone

Hello everyone

Back again today with another layout created using the super cool Simple Stories So Rad collection. Todays layout is Silly Faces:

I snapped these pics of Zane when I asked for a quick photo. He decided instead to be a little silly and pull a bunch of faces and flip his head from side to side.

For this page, I have layered a few rows of patterned papers onto a neutral kraft background. I've added some stars and enamel dots both from the So Rad collection, before adding some mixed embellishments.

A couple of close ups:

I've dug into my stash to find these multi coloured alphabet stickers from October Afternoons Midway collection that worked well with my papers and I think suited the title!

This Flutterby designs flair button "Just be You" works perfectly top convey the message with the photos and is teamed up with an arrow from the sticker sheet and a little wood veneer heart.

My little subtitle - Hey There Smile, using a sticker from the So Rad collection and a Studio Calico Wood Veneer word.

Thanks for stopping by
Till next week

Cocoa Vanilla "Made of Awesome" - by Linda Eggleton

Hi everyone

Welcome to August!
A new month means new goodies to play with & this month I will be working with the amazing
Cocoa Vanilla Studio is a brand new Aussie designed & owned scrapbook company - by Zoe Pearn

Although I've only created one layout with the collection so far, I think it's going to be one of those collections that can be used for little boys, big boys & all those in between,
and perhaps even non male layouts?  We shall see what the coming weeks will produce :)

"Totally Awesome"
Based on sketch #144 at Sketchabilities

I have used the orange side of the Lucky Star paper for the background & added some random stencil work & stamping, with some mists splashed around as well.  I added all the background work after I had completed the layout - which is the opposite of how I normally add this to my backgrounds....usually I add it first.

There are SO many fabulous embellishments with this collection....you definitely will not be stuck for choice that's for sure!  I have used a variety of the embellies as shown below in some close ups....

Here I've used a variety of pieces from the Diecut Ephemera...all the circle pieces & the Awesome diecut that I've used as part of my title, plus the solid stars.  The other stars are vellum from the Vellum Stars pack - which come in a variety of patterns & colours :)

There's also one of the really cool flair buttons....and I've used some of the alpha stickers for the rest of my title.  The alpha sheet comes with these black alphas plus some
smaller woodgrain patterned square alphas.

Tickets....who doesn't love some good tickets?!?  I know I do :)
I've used a couple here tucked into the sides of the photos....the Blue one was cut in half & the other side used on the opposite side of the photos.

And there's also some more vellum stars & one of the stars from the diecut Ephemera pack.

The arrows are also from the Diecut Ephemera....and I've put the small singular arrow up on foam tape.
The smiley (or not so smiley...lol) face is from the 2Crafty Smiley Faces pack...I've coated it in gesso & then coloured with some watered down KaiserMIST - Turquoise.

And a close up of the main area of the page.
Photos are of my boy at one of his motocross races....photos were not taken by me, but by one of the professional photographers who were there on the day.

I hope you have been inspired by this fabulous collection....it really is one of those MUST HAVES!!

Until next time....happy scrapping!  xx
