"Happy Birthday", featuring Simple Stories Emoji Love, by Amanda H.

Hello again,

My final page share for May!
I have used the fun and funky Simple Stories - Emoji Love Collection.
Who can't smile and feel happy when working with this collection?!
 Perfect for a birthday page!

Here is my page:

Starting with a base of White and Black Cardstock. I then layered up awesome papers from the collection: The pink hearts from Choose Happy, the Emoji and speech bubbles from I LOL, and the pink strip across the page from 2 Cool.

To the left of the photo, I created this main cluster and feature of the page.

I REALLY love the 4X6 Sticker Packs from Simple Stories - always so many varieties of stickers to use, all in one pack. I used an assortment behind the title, even using the pink alphabet letters to write part of the title.

To create the title, I used a 2Crafty word, which I inked black, and added dimensional magic. As it was drying I added super fine glitter and some super small sequins. It looks kind of blue in these photos, but my daughter said it looked "holographic"!

Also added are some Bella Blvd Puffy Hearts and 2Crafty Chipboard arrows (which also got the black ink and dimensional magic treatment) as well as sequins for some extra sparkle!

Meeting Pluto by Fiona Johnstone

Hello everyone

This weeks layout is a double page spread using Echo Park's Magic & Wonder collection. I had lots of photos to choose from to scrap for this layout, it was hard to narrow them down to even a double!

Meeting Pluto

The yellow, red and black colour combo works perfectly with these photos. I chose the yellow as my background paper and then layered several of the other papers, focusing on this colour combo and a touch of pale blue.

I've made a subtitle using this sticker from the Element Sticker Sheet, and mounted it onto black cardstock to make it stand out.

I've used element stickers and enamel dots from the Echo Park Magic and Wonder collection to embellish my page, as well as digging into my Disney stash.

Thanks for stopping by
Till next week

Sisters using Fancy Pants Family & Co by Kerryn

Morning Everyone.
I'm back with my next project today and this time I am sharing something a little different.
This page is actually about me! Oh and my big Sis.
See I do actually exist :)
But bet you can't guess where we were.
This page features the beautiful collection Fancy Pants Designs Family & Co

I had a ball creating the background for this page, a little mixed media.
Using the new Distress Oxide Inks Broken ChinaCracked Pistachio and Faded Jeans
I have swiped each ink onto a craft sheet and spritzed them with water.
Then dabbing the cardstock down onto the puddles of ink, lifting it and
then putting it down again to pick up more colour.
Lacking any creative patience, I have dried off the cardstock with a heat tool
and then flicked more water onto the background.
The excess water was sponged away with paper towel leaving some cool water stains.

I have randomly stamped the background with three different Kaisercraft Texture Stamps

The 2 Crafty title Sisters are attached @ the Heart was cut into two pieces to spread the words
across the page, I have covered it with Distress Paint and then stamped with gold ink.
The edges have been highlighted with Metallic Rub.
The 2 Crafty Doodled Heart was also painted with Distress Paint in three different colours.

Hopefully you have been a little inspired by my page today.
I am loving the new Distress Oxide Inks and will continue to play with them over the next few weeks.
Please drop back to the blog on Monday to see what Fiona has to show you.
Have a fabulous weekend!

"Friends", featuring Kaisercraft Bombay Sunset, by Amanda H.

Hi everyone!

Welcome to my Wednesday page share.
Today I have used the rich bright papers from the Kaisercraft Bombay Sunset collection.

Here is my page.... and some close ups...

I started with the Sundown paper in the collection.... How stunning is this as a background?
I used the Music paper and Daybreak paper to matte behind the photos and also to punch some shapes to tuck in the layers in the back.

I love it when paper companies make a pretty paper strip, so you can add it to a page rather than throwing it away when you trim the paper!!! I found the stripy paper strip with the quote "You brighten my days" on the Rosewood Paper, and it was lovely running along the bottom of the photos.

I embossed some 2Crafty pieces in gold and turquoise for this layout.
The "Friends" word for the title was perfect, especially layered on the Leafy Rounds.

I also added some Kaisercraft Paper Mini Blooms (in "Sea Breeze") and Bella Blvd Puffy Hearts (in "Ice Mix"), as well as metallic thread and sequins from my stash.

I also did some gold and turquoise splatters to the background, just a subtle touch.

I love the 2Crafty Delicate Swirl, which I ran down the side of the photos, layered amongst another paper punches, paper bloom, puffy heart, sequins and thread.

California Adventure with Echo Park and Simple Stories by Fiona Johnstone

Hello everyone

I've just come back from a fantastic holiday that included a trip to Disneyland so this week (and for the next few) I am creating with the new Disney themed releases by Simple Stories and Echo Park.

My layout for this week:
California Adventure

I've used both paper ranges for this layout and also some of the previously release SS Say Cheese collections to create lots of layers.

So many embellishments in these collections and they combine so well together.

I've used wood veneer and foam stickers for my title to make it stand out on the busy background paper.

If you have any theme park photos, then these collections are perfect!!

Thanks for stopping by
Till next week

Bring it on using Bella Blvd Let's Go! by Kerryn

Hi there everyone.
Another fabulous Friday so I am back to share my latest project.
I've gone back to the versatile Bella Blvd Collection Let's Go.
The primary colours make it so easy to use for a masculine page.
The photos are of a much younger Mr now 13, but thought the colours were perfect.

The background has been created using 2 different 6x6 Crafter's Workshop Templates
a random splotches stencil and 3 different Distress Inks.
I've tried to highlight certain features in the photos when putting the background together.
The arrows for direction, the fine design used with green ink for the grass and
the splotches just finish off an active boy page.

The 2 Crafty Chevron Bits and Splat Puddles have been painted with a
thick coat of Distress Paint to pop the two main colours.
Notice there is no glossy or shiny finish this week, kept the finish plain,
macho to match Mr now 13 hard sweaty work LOL!
I have added some foam tape for dimension under some pieces.
I have added a few embellishments for the Crate Paper Cool Kid Collection

Hope you find my page inspirational.
I think it is a good example of not using a collection for it's intended purpose.
Try not to stereotype a collection by it's name or general theme,
look more at the patterns and colours themselves.
Thanks for visiting the blog today, have a fabulous weekend.

"Happy chef" featuring Fancy Pants Family & co., by Amanda H

Hi everyone!

It's Wednesday again, so it is up to me to share some more inspiration!

Here is today's page, featuring the new collection from Fancy Pants "Family & co.".

With so many bright and happy papers in the range, I layered them and stuck them behind the photo, but also along the top and bottom. For many, I tried to use both sides of the papers!

I kept my embellishments simple for this page, by using a mix of the Chipboard stickers and Puffy stickers from the collection.

Here are some banners and hearts from the packs, and you can also see I used the chipboard frame around the photo. I used the puffy sticker "Happy" from the set for the title, which is too easy!

The chipboard and puffy elements combine well in the clusters.
Hand journaling on a strip of the patterned paper is also an important part of the page!

I small amount of messy black thread amongst the clusters adds a simple touch.

You Shine

Hello everyone

Hope you all had a wonderful Mothers Day yesterday. I attended our monthly crop day this weekend where I taught this page created using CVS Wild at Heart paper and Dylusions & Distress Spray inks.

For this page I created a watercolour effect with the dylusions inks, dabbing a little onto some plastic and a lot of water before spreading it onto the background then drying off with paper towel to create a more subtle colour.  I finished the background off with some ink splatters.

I've utilised the patterns on the Patchwork Paper:

and cut out some of the different prints to which creates the look of lots of different patterned paper layers on my page.

Naturally the butterflies in this collection call for fussy cutting, and I created a flowing affect with them, as they flow diagonally across the page. I have used mounting tape on one side of each butterfly to create the illusion of fluttering.

Thanks for stopping by
Till next week

Just Be Happy with Fancy Pants "Family and Co" by Kerryn Fry

Good morning Crafters!
Welcome to the AAS Blog on this lovely Friday morning.
Today I have created my page using Fancy Pants Family & Co
Such a gorgeous collection with colours that will work for all sorts of photos.
I've gone bright and girly this week to match the smiles of my beautiful great niece.
She is having so much fun on Master 12's old tricycle.

The background was created with a Heidi Swapp template and Distress Ink.
I have outlined the sun bursts using a black gel pen and faux stitching.
How cool does the 2 Crafty Flower Cluster look!
A few shades of green Distress Paint for the leaves using the darker colours around the edge.
The flower has a combination of yellow, pinks and reds Distress Paint, the center was decorated with a black pen and then finished with a layer of Dimensional Magic.

The Fancy Pants Family & Co Ephemera pack is an awesome addition to this collection.
I've created a cluster with a few different pieces, layering some of them with foam tape.

Thanks for visiting the blog today.
Have a fabulous weekend and I hope you will drop by again on
Monday to see what Fiona has been doing.

"Lovely" by Amanda H

Hi everyone,

It's Wednesday again, so it's my turn to share.
I am loving being an aunt again and this is a page of me getting some baby cuddles.
 I do love this!

Here is my page.:

I started with some white cardstock and the bright spotty yellow paper from the Fancy Pants Joy Parade range.

The rest of the papers are Cocoa Vanilla Studio strips and scraps from the Love Always range. I cut a variety of strips, some with a banner cut in the bottoms and layered them under the photo. I went with the grey/black sides of the papers rather than the pinks!

For one of the panels of paper from the Love Always range, I wanted to add some colour. To do this, I simply used some watercolours (I used a childrens paint set from Officeworks), painting some yellows and greys to match the colour scheme.

You can see this panel looks great, layered amongst the other papers and embellishments.

Another feature of the layout, are the 2Crafty Dandelion flowers. Here is how I created them:

I used Prima chalk ink on the chipboard, and then added Dimensional magic. While the dimensional magic was still wet, I added the Prima mica flakes (something I found in my stash!). You could also sprinkle in glitter, or sequins for a similar effect.

Other embellishments added to the page include bits &pieces and stickers from the Cocoa Vanilla Love Actually collection.

And the title "lovely" is a Thickers word, from the Take me Away pack.
