The Magic of Snow using Echo Park Paper Celebrate Winter by Kerryn Fry

Hi everyone!
The project I am sharing today has been created with
Echo Park Paper Celebrate Winter
I'm sure you are all aware how much I love snow!
Every year we head over to Victoria for a week of fun.
The photo is from last year,
Mr then 13, having a wonderful time throwing snow around.

The page started with a 12x12 sheet of White cardstock.
I have used an Echo Park snowflake stencil and texture paste
to create the texture in the background.
Once dried, I have used Distress Oxide Inks,
Broken China, Stormy Sky and Chipped Sapphire with plenty of water.
I have sprayed plenty of water to allow the inks to drip.
When I was happy with the effect, I have used a heat gun to dry the cardstock.

As a second effect on the background,
I have flicked more water onto the ink,
after letting it sit for a short time,
I have used paper towel to absorb any remaining water.
The textured snowflakes in the background have been highlighted
with Stickles glitter for a little sparkle.
The different cardstock snowflakes have been cut using a variety of dies and punches.
The 12x12 Sticker Sheet was great for adding the extra touches
and Kaisercraft gems were added to the centres.

The 2 Crafty title The Magic of Snow has been inked with
layers of the blues in Distress Oxides Inks.
I have highlighted different sections of the title with more Stickles.
Some snowflakes have also been given touches of sparkle.

The 2 Crafty Polaroid Frame was painted Candied Apple Distress Paint.
The second layer is a thick coat of Dimensional Magic
and set aside to dry.
I have used foam tape to lift different parts of the page.

That's my page for this week.
Thank you for visiting the blog today, I hope you have enjoyed the process
and have a fabulous weekend.
Please join us again on Monday
for Fiona's next project.

Hip Hip Hooray, by Amanda Hartmann

Hi all,
A big week of birthdays here at All About Scrapbooks, with Vanessa and I both celebrating birthdays! Happy Birthday Vanessa!
What better way to celebrate, but with a birthday page!?! And I have done a double page, because I had lots of papers and lots of photos of my daughter's 13th birthday! I have used Bella Bvld: using supplies from both the Wish Big Boy collection and Wish Big Girl collection.
Here is my page and all the details:

I started with two sheets of white cardstock as the base. Then I used a combination of papers in the Bella Blvd collections - I chose the bright solid colours sides of the papers and combined them in panels, strips and behind the photos. All the papers I used, are listed in the product list below.
On the left page, I used the cool acrylic word "Hip Hip Hooray" for the title.

Throughout the page, I used the Bella Blvd - Wish Big Girl Ephemera - Words pieces as a feature. On either side of the pages, I layered and stacked the fun birthday words.
There were some shapes and call-outs, which I also combined to hold some journaling.
Throughout the page, I scattered some pink and blue puffy hearts - I love these Pinkfresh studio stickers - perfect to finish any page!
Then, given it was a unicorn party, I could not resist one little unicorn sticker I had left from my Simple Stories Dream Big Sticker Sheet. Another perfect finishing touch! I was so pleased when the colours matched!

Thanks for looking! And I hope you enjoy the count down of days as we head towards Christmas, as we say goodbye to November and hello to Christmas.

Beautiful You with Cocoa Vanilla Studio Midnight by Fiona Johnstone

Hello everyone

Another page created with the beautiful Midnight collection by Cocoa Vanilla Studio. Focused on the blue for this page of my eldest at her dance concert this year:

Beautiful You

I wanted the blue to tie in with my photo , adding it as a large strip down the side of the page achieves this. Then I wanted to soften the layout by adding the softer elements of the pinks, flowers and doilies to the layout.

Cute clusters with some ephemera, flowers and flair buttons and a touch of journaling using the sticker sheet.

The chipboard title was chosen to add some dimension and I add a touch of glam with the gold thicker word you.

Thanks for stopping by
Head over to the store to grab this collection before it's all gone!

Till next week

Trick or Treat using Echo Park Paper Hocus Pocus by Kerryn Fry

Good morning All!
Today I am sharing my second page created with
Echo Park Paper Hocus Pocus.
I adore the colors of Halloween and
always have loads of fun with these collections.

So now that Mr 14 and a half is apparently 'too old' to celebrate Halloween,
I have gone back to the year 2012 for some photos and to reminisce.
I was lucky that my big sister was always willing to join in.

The page started with a Kraft Cardstock base.
Ripe Persimmon and Black Soot for the background.
Diamond Stickles was used to highlight the stencil

Once the Stickles had dried, I have used charcoal ink
and a Tim Holtz foam spider stamp.
The body of the spider has been highlighted with a metallic Kaisercraft Gel Pen.

The 2 Crafty title Trick or Treat was given a white gesso basecoat.
I have used two shades of purple to create the colour
and finished the title with Dimensional Magic.

The 2 Crafty Ghosts were painted with white paint.
After they had dried, I have swiped the edges with charcoal ink
and used a black gel pen for the eyes.
The ghosts have been finished with Dimensional Magic,
but I have left the eyes plain.

I have hand cut embellishments from the patterned papers,
the date, ghost and a few bats.
Some pieces have been given a black base to pop on the page.
The Sticker Sheet was perfect to add some finishing touches
and there was plenty of foam tape used to add dimension to different elements.

The final cluster on the page was created with the 2 Crafty Gravestone Set.
The headstone was painted with Hickory Smoke Distress Paint.
The edges of the chipboard have been inked with charcoal ink.
The pumpkins were hand painted with Distress Paint,
using Ripe Persimmon, Black Soot and Picket Fence.
The chipboard has been backed with patterned paper
and then given a finishing coat of Dimensional Magic.

That's my page for today, thank you for dropping in.
Have a fabulous weekend!
Please check back on Monday for Fiona's next project.

Embrace, by Amanda Hartmann

Hi everyone!

"Abrazo".... it's Spanish for "embrace" and seemed like the perfect title for this photo of my daughter hugging our friend Paty from Argentina.

I started with the striped background - it was the lovely Meadow paper in the range. The stripes seemed perfect to match my daughter's striped shirt.

Then I placed a lace doily in the centre of the page. On top of this, I layered a few papers in the range, with some black cardstock, to create the photo mount. Some distressed edges to the paper layers adds a little texture!

Now let's look at the cluster and details.

I used the 2 Crafty chipboard flourish along the bottom of the photo. Amongst the flourish I added a white leaf spray from Green Tara.

Also in the cluster, I added some 2Crafty Hearts - I inked them black and then coated them in dimensional magic.

I added a handmade felt heart from my friend Charmane of Charm's Creations. The "embrace" word sticker on this, is from the accessory sticker pack from Cocoa Vanilla Studio Midnight collection.

From my stash I added sequins and flower stamen. I cut some of the white leaf spray to tuck on this left side. The flower is from a prima pack and I gave it a spray of Steel grey to suit the colours I needed.

Here is the title, made with stickers.  I LOVE these mini puffy stickers from the Indigo Hills collection. I can see them on lots of my future pages!

And hopefully you can see the technique I used on the 2 Crafty chipboard flourish. I inked it black to start. Then I gave it a coat of crackle medium (I got a cheap bottle from Aldi!). Then I painted the flourish with Lilac paint. As the paint dried, the cracks formed to show the black underneath. Looks really cool! Then I finished the flourish with a coat of dimensional magic.

Well that's it for today! Thanks for looking!

Amanda

Shine Bright with Cocoa Vanilla Studio Midnight by Fiona Johnstone

Hello everyone

Back again with another page created with the beautiful Midnight collection
by Cocoa Vanilla Studio.
Love these pinks with the navy combo.

Shine Bright
Love this paper for the base with it's gorgeous colour blend and splashes of blue. I layered my photo with a mix of the blue and floral papers and a soft pretty doily before layering the ephemera flowers & leaves to create a feature on my page.  A flair button is the perfect piece to finish off the cluster.

I've balanced out the other side of my photo with another ephemera flower, some other pieces and a chipboard flower arrangement.

I finished off my visual triangle with a small cluster of ephemera and stickers. To finalise my layout I dug into my stash to find some co-ordinating enamel dots to scatter around the page.

Thanks for stopping by
Till next week

Ho Ho Ho using Bella Blvd Merry Christmas by Kerryn Fry

Hi Everyone!
Today I have joined Amanda on the Christmas band wagon,
creating  my first page using the gorgeous collection Bella Blvd Merry Christmas.
I love the inclusion of blue and grey in this collection and the gold highlights.
The photos were taken way back in 2011,
this beautiful boy was only 7 and cheeky as ever.

A Kraft cardstock base is perfect for the bright festive colours,
most of it has been covered with patterned paper,
but love the frame of Kraft cardstock around the outside.
I've added a few layers of paper, with the pop of gold foil shining through.

I continued the gold theme onto the 2 Crafty chipboard.
The 2 Crafty Xmas Polaroid Frame has been given a base coat of white gesso.
Once completely dry, I have covered the frame with Gold Brilliance Ink
and given the frame three good coats.
The words 'Santa's Helper' has been highlighted with Diamond Stickles.

The 2 Crafty Funky Stars were painted with acrylic paint,
using a roughly blended mixture of blue, turquoise and white.
After drying time, I have stamped the stars with white ink
The finishing touch is a coat of Dimensional Magic

I have done a little fussy cutting from the Borders paper and Daily Details paper.
The holly leaves, present and heart have been used as embellishments for the page.
The 2 Crafty Deer was painted with Navy acrylic paint
and the horns covered with gold ink.
Dimensional Magic used as a final coat.
Some of the elements have been elevated on foam tape.

The title of the page has been cut from the 2 Crafty border HoHoHo.
After a layer of white gesso, the top half of the words have been covered with gold ink,
then using scrap paper as a mask, I have painted the bottom part with red paint.
Then adding a finishing coat of Dimensional Magic.

I love creating Christmas pages!
Thanks from dropping by the blog today.
Hope you have a great weekend
and find some free time to create.
Join us again on Monday to see Fiona's next project.
