October Afternoon "Public Library" & Kaisercraft "Basecoat Christmas" - by Linda Eggleton

Good morning everyone & welcome :)

Today I have a few project to share....including some of my Kaisercraft DT work for
September, using one of the new Christmas Collection - Basecoat Christmas.

But first up is another layout using October Afternoon's "Public Library" collection....and again,
I've created a page that is not library/reading/school/book related.
I am REALLY loving working with this collection....the colours, the patterns & it's versatility
makes working with it a breeze...and also FUN :)

"Pure Joy"
(Based on the 1st September Stuck Sketch)

I have used the "Due Date" paper for the background, and even though it is quite bold in it's colour & pattern, I've also added a bit of stencil work to it using the Memory Box - Rings & Puddles stencil with some coloured texture paste.  I quite like how it is fairly subtle against the background, yet not completely lost in it.

For my cluster I've used some Green Tara flowers, a Flutterby Flair, punched butterflies....plus some 2Crafty gears tucked in at the edges.  I've also included a few pieces of tangled up cotton thread in there as well, and the half circle piece at the top of the photo is one of the Pink Paislee - Circle Artisan Elements that I've coloured with my Gelatos

Another smaller cluster of the same.

I love the effect of using a corner punch to round off the edges of the papers in my layers....it really changes the look dramatically compared to leaving them with the squared corners .

I've used strips of paper & also stickers from the Border Stickers sheet
to create some layers in under my photos....which are my gorgeous little G. Niece, Olivia, having an absolute ball on the swing at the park <3

A list of products used, including links to the AAS store, is at the bottom of my post.

Next up is my Kaisercraft projects using the amazing Basecoat Christmas Collection - and I have to say, if you have loved all 3 of KC's previous Basecoat collections, you will LOVE this one too!

"I Beleive in Santa Claus"

I've used the reverse side of the gorgeous "Flora" paper for my background with a touch of mixed media in under my layers of paper strips. How cool is the red timber decking on this paper?!
I absolutely love it!

I've created a cluster with a few different coloured paper blooms...and pieces from the Collectables pack. There's also some strips of Kaisercraft lace and also border stickers in amongst
the paper strips as well.

The stencil work is using the new release template - Moroccon Lattice & the stamping is a new release stamp - Morocco. Love them both!

Here you can see the lace a bit better....as well as some punched border strips, border sticker from the sticker sheet, and also some cut off strips from various papers.

More collectables pieces...and a close up shot of the main area of the page....which has some of the Captured Moments 3x4 cards layered in under the photo.  These cards are great for layering on your page....and they make it so quick & easy too.

"Christmas Eve"

I've kept the background nice & clean with this one....using the Christmas Bells paper - I love the old weathered look & feel to the timbers on this paper <3
And.....Oh how I love the christmas decorations at the top of the page...they look so real & 3D!!

I have, however, added a bit of stencil work on the green piece under the photo...using the new Stars template.

Another cluster of Paper Blooms, stickers & Collectables pieces

I've added a strip of KC cream lace along the bottom of the papers for some added texture....and some stamping using the Basecoat Christmas clear stamps.  And there's also some of the new release printed tape in there too....Chevron - Mint <3

I've also used one of the Basecoat Christmas - Captured Moments 3x4 cards at the side of the photo.

And lastly....a quick & simple card

Using a variety of papers from the paper pad, some paper blooms, Collectables, Lace & Rhinestones

With the centre Collectables piece raised up on some foam tape....fairly quick & simple - which is how I like to create my cards :)
