Star Student using Simple Stories School Life by Kerryn Fry

Hello everyone!
Today I'm sharing the first page that
I have created using the collection,
Simple Stories School Life.
My favourite colour palette!
The photo is Mr H's school photo from last year.
This kid is growing up way too fast.

The page started with a clean piece of Bazzill Kraft Cardstock.
I've let the bright colours in this collection shine through.
Lots of paper layers under the photo
and Cardstock Stickers to embellish the page.

The top right corner of the page
has the flag banner and word sticker
added to the page with foam tape.
I've used a white gel pen to add
faux stitch circles around the spots on the paper.

To the left of the photo I've added more of the
Cardstock Stickers to create an embellishment cluster.
The 'first day' has been added directly to the page,
The other stickers have been lifted with foam tape
and staggered down the side of the photo.
I've used a black gel pen to add a border
to some of the elements on the page.

I've hand cut the 'clipboard' journal spot
from the 3x4 Elements paper.
The white section of the journal card
has been outlined with a black gel pen.
'The 'Choose to Shine' words have been hand cut
from the 2x2 & 4x4 Elements paper
and added to the page with foam tape.
I've added more cardstock stickers to
this cluster with foam tape.
The photo has been backed with
the Honor Rollin' black side patterned paper.

The cluster in the top left corner of the page
is a mixture of 2 Crafty chipboard and word stickers.
The 2 Crafty Scrabble Tiles have been
covered with Candied Apple Distress Paint.
Once dry, I've outlined each tile with a white gel pen.
The words added are form the Cardstock Sticker sheet
and have been outlined with a black gel pen.

covered with Black Soot Distress Paint.
I've backed the large star with scrap patterned paper.
I've highlighted the letters and smaller stars
with a white gel pen to pop the title.
The chipboard has been lifted with foam tape.

Thank you for visiting the blog today.
I hope the page has inspired you to
get those school photos out and
get creative this weekend.
Have fun and join us again on Monday.
