Kaisercraft Mister Fox - by Fiona Johnstone

Hello everyone

A brand new month - May already, can you believe it? - and a brand new month means brand new goodies to play with! This month I have Kaisercrafts Mister Fox collection to create with.

I have created two layouts using this range for you this month, and both of these
 will be available as kits!

First up, Love Life:

In both of todays layouts, I have used the collectibles pack to make my title.
Lots of great words to choos from in this collection.

The papers I've torn and gone a bit grungy to go with the earthy tones in the paper
and the neutrals in my photo.

I have also run with the lattice theme, using a Jillibean Placemat to mimic the paper.
I have very lightly inked the placemat using a worn out black ink pad, then I have
used various pieces of Mister Fox papers to mat behind the placemat.

A close up of my embellishments, love the film reels and the barcodes, so fun!

And my second share today, is the layout Cherish:

I've kept with clean lines on this page, but used the oranges and greens with the floral prints and added some flowers for this family layout.
Again, lots of layering of the collectibles, and the use of the word Cherish for the title.

The top paper strip quote "this is one crazy family" has come from the bottom piece of one of the papers - always check these before you discard them!!

A close up of the title from the collectibles pack, and my flowers, which I have grunged up with a bit of black ink:

And finishing with a close up of the other side, simple journaling tag, flower and bit of chipboard:

Thanks for stopping by
Till next week

Crate Paper "The Pier" - By Linda Eggleton

Hi everyone, and welcome to another Friday share :)

This month I am creating with  Crate Paper "The Pier" collection....which is filled with a variety
of  coloured & patterned papers which would suit any style of layout.

My first layout for the month is
"The Carousel"
based on the Scrap365 May sketch.

I have added a bit of background work onto the yellow Popcorn paper...using a Teresa Collins stencil (a list of products with links is at the bottom of my post) with some modelling paste that I coloured with some shavings from my gelatos, some Kaisercraft & Prima stamping
and some flicks of glimmermist.

The modelling paste that I used mixed with the gelato shavings is the same mixture that I used on my "2 of a kind" layout using Teresa Collins Daily stories last month.  At the time of mixing it up, I had mixed way too much, and decided to leave it in the plastic cup I had mixed it in (you know, the throw away type plastic cups) and cover it in alfoil with a rubber band around the very top of the cup to try to keep it as air tight as I could.....with the intention of using it up on some other backgrounds the same weekend.  Well, that just didn't happen...and when I was creating this layout, I was really surprised to find that the modelling paste was still ok and hadn't dried up...not one little bit!

Soooooo, I thought this was a really handy tip to share.....just keep any leftover colour mixed modelling paste covered up as best you can, and even 2 or 3 weeks later, it will still be good to go :)

Anyways...on with some close ups

I've used a mix of flowers for my cluster, along with some 2Crafty chipboard - Sharon's Butterflies & some Chevron Bits - yep, I am still using the same pack from a few months ago! As well as a Flutterby Flair button - I absolutely LOVE these buttons <3

How perfect is this Carousel ride ticket?!
I have cut it out from the "Splash" paper, which also has a heap of other tag, word & strip pieces on it.  The dotted strip above the piece of ric rac is also from the "Splash" paper.
Here you can also see one of the cute little camera wood veneers from Studio Calico...finished off with a KC rhinestone in the centre.

I have swiped some gesso over the 2Crafty chevrons...and added a few paper clips &
a brad above the photo, as well as a little tab sticker from the sticker sheet.

Title using some AC thickers and also some woodgrain alpha stickers from Studio Calico.
And the big red pin dropper is from the Pier collection sticker sheet.
The ric rac is years old & is from my stash - love that I've been able to use it with this collection :)

A close up of the background work.  The pink bits are using the Teresa Collins stencil (these are still available in store & are great value - 3 stencils for $6.99!!! - see link below), stamping with KC Numbers stamp & some flicks & drops of Denim Blue & Viva Pink glimmermists.

And here's an overall view of the main area of the page.  Pics are of the gorgeous old carousel at Luna Park in St Kilda...from a trip to Melbourne a few years ago.

I also have a few cards to share.
I could NOT do something with the leftovers from last months Honey Chai & Daily Stories papers, as I really enjoyed working with both of these collections, so I decided to make a few cards and thought I'd share them with you all .....

Using papers, stickers & diecut pieces from the Honey Chai collectables pack,
with a few added flowers.

And here's 2 more using Daily Stories

Both cards are using papers & stickers from Daily Stories...with a few sequins & enamel dots, plus a few flowers and some twine added to the first one.

Thanks so much for dropping by today ...until next time, Happy Scrapping!

Echo Park- That's My Boy by Fiona Johnstone

Hello everyone

Back today sharing my first layout of our new puppy Harry, using Echo Park That's My Boy range of papers. Lots of tradional boy colours, with a mix for younger and older kids - or in my case, boy puppy!

I've also used a 3x4 Sn@p card for my title. These cards are not just for Project Life style scrapping - they can look great on traditional layouts as well.

The kraft cardstock goes perfectly with Harry's colouring, but it was a little plain, so I added some splashes of  Dylusions ink and some stamping.

A close up of the Simple Stories 3x4 card as a title. I added the little paw print, it comes from the Simple Stories Sticker sheet that compliments the cards.

Also some splatter and stamping detail, finishing off with some enamel dots and a vellum embellishment.

The second close up, a sticker from the Echo Park range and a funky Jillibean Wooden Nickel.

  Thank you for stopping by,

Till next week
Fiona

Last shares with Daily Stories & Honey Chai - By Linda Eggleton

Hi everyone...welcome to the blog & happy Anzac Day - Lest We Forget!

Today I'm back to share another layout from each of the
collections I've been working with this month

Teresa Collins - Daily Stories
&
Kaisercraft - Honey Chai

I have loved working with both collections & feel so privileged to create with them.

First up is a layout using Teresa Collins - Daily Stories
The colours in this collection are totally gorgeous, as is the patterns & embellishments that go with it.

"The Cutest Little Yawn"
(based on the April sketch at Grand Divas Creative Corner)

I have used the reverse side of the Ombre Circles paper for my background, with a few splashes/flicks of glimmermist randomly across the page, then distressed, inked & layered a variety of PP's in under the photos.

Here is a cute little cluster of Green Tara & Petaloo flowers, and a Flutterby flair...with a scatter of the Daily Stories Sequins around the edges.

Some of the enamel chevrons & dots from the Enamel Dots & Shapes pack
Plus one of the stickers & a 2Crafty butterfly that I've coloured with FC Gelatos

My title is made up of AC Thickers, a few little stips of PP & the alpha stickers from the Alpha/Word Sticker sheet.  The alphas from the pack are white, so I have coloured them using some more yummy Gelatos!

Some strip journaling on white cardstock that I have also coloured with Gelatos to help it stand out against the white background.

And here is an overall view of the page....with pics of my gorgeous little Great Niece - Olivia <3

Next is my layout using Kaisercraft - Honey Chai
The colours in this collection have gorgeous autumn tones - one of my fav colours to work with!
Again, the Collectables pack is filled with so many fantastic diecuts,
and they are also the perfect size for adding in and around your page.

"Blarney Castle"
(based on the April sketch at Life.Paper.Scrapbook)

I've tried to use a mix of all the colours from the collection, and have left the background plain, as I felt there was enough going on with the layers etc under the photos.  I also added some punched borders down the sides of the paper layers.

A small cluster of KC blooms, Collectables diecuts, Petaloo flower &
raw 2Crafty Summer Leaf Stems

A few of the diecuts, that I've inked around the edges.

Another smaller cluster - KC blooms, butterfly diecut, a button & a wood veneer camera

My title using the alpha stickers from the sticker sheet along with some Prima alphas...and the gorgeous rose border is from the collectables pack too :)

And my journaling...straight onto the background paper.

A closeup of the main area of the page - pics are of Blarney Castle, which holds the famous Blarney Stone.  Everything about this place was amazing...from the Castle, to experiencing the climb up inside it to reach the stone that HAD to be kissed....to the magnificent gardens & grounds surrounding the castle.  We spent practically the whole day there exploring & having a great time :)

Thank you all for visiting today...I hope you have enjoyed seeing my creations :)
Until next time....take care & happy scrapping!

Simple Stories - A Charmed Life by Fiona Johnstone

Hello everyone

This week I am working with the amazing Simple Stores A Charmed Life, and I have
both a boy and girl layout to share with you. This range with its greens, blues and
yellows is the perfect colour combo for just about anything!

My first share with you, Joining Cubs, is of my son just before being inducted into cubs. This photo is from last year, I needed the perfect papers to complement that shirt!!
The background paper I chose, has all these fabulous stars along the top. To balance this out I have used some vellum stars and made a small cluster down the bottom right of my layout.

A different perspective, showing the trio of clusters around my photo:

A close up of the journaling, a star to continue the star theme on the background paper, with a little enamel dot. Bottom corner has a little cluster of a circle and a couple of word stickers and a 2Crafty Fleur De Lys, which is the Cubs and Scouts symbol - wonderfully suggested to me by the lovely Jo at All About Scrapbooks crop day when I was pondering what to add to my layout.

My title and another circle and word sticker cluster to match the one above.

And for my second layout Today I have used the same wonderful range and applied it to a more girly design, with love hearts and flowers.

I've used a plain white Jillibean placemat and cut a small section to add a little more texture & light to the page, particularly with the dark, plain baclground paper.
Another view of the layout:

I really am loving all the fabulous diecuts that are being produced in more ranges these days, so easy to co-ordinate your layout.
A close up, showing my title, some journaling stickers and flowers. The clear sticker is from the MAMBI packet, it contains tonnes of fabulous shapes and phrases, great for sticking over photos and they come in black as well as the white I've used here "you make my {heart} sing".
The top corner, some washi tape, another small flower sticker and this adorable cloud with Hello Sunshine! from the A Charmed Life sticker sheet.

Thanks for stopping by, I hope I've inspired you to create with these gorgeous colours!

Till next time
Fiona
