I has so much fun with the mixed media
effect last week that I decided to play again.
Starting with the awesome Foundations Paper
from Vicki Boutin, seriously perfect for wet mediums.
I took inspiration from my favourite patterned paper
in this collection, the wood panel So Lucky paper.
The background effect started with
Evergreen Bough Distress Oxide Ink
applied with the packaging technique.
Once it was dry and I was happy with the depth of colour,
I have added a layering of dot stencilling with the same ink.
Before moving to the next layer of colour,
I have added some big drops of the same ink
watered down to drip on the paper.
The next layer of colour is
Antique Linen Distress Oxide Ink and
I have added random stencilling to the
outer edge of the Evergreen Bough layer.
The next layer is using white gesso
layering over the other colours to appear
just beyond the paper layers.
I have fussy cut all of the flower clusters
from the patterned paper Together.
These flowers have been used to create
embellishment cluster on the page.
To the right of the photo I have added the flowers
with foam tape and also added a star
and butterfly from the Element Sticker Sheet
The embellishment cluster to the left
of the photo is a combination of
hand-cut flowers from both sides of the Together paper
and also the Documented paper.
I've used foam tape to lift the flowers.
There are also multiple stickers from
the Element Sticker Sheet, the camera,
small flowers and hearts.
The words have been hand cut
from to So Lucky paper
and raised again with foam tape.
The smaller cluster at the bottom of the page
is also a mixture of hand cut flowers and stickers.
The word Priceless has been cut from the
Documented paper and backed with black cardstock
for definition against the white flowers.
The 2 Crafty Chevron Bits
have been covered with black ink
and helps to frame the cluster and title.
The simple title is a 2 Crafty Mini Title Stick
I have swiped the stick it with black ink
to keep the words neutral and clear.
I have lifted the title with foam tape.
To finish the page, I have outlined the main
piece of So Lucky paper with a black pen
and then added flicks and splashes of
watered down black gesso.
