A Star is Born
using Simple Stories Say Cheese 4
by Kerryn Fry

Hi everyone!
Today's page has been created using
You really can't go wrong with the primary colours
and the patterns in the papers were easy to adapt to suit the photos.
I did change the photos to B&W to suit.
Mr, now 15, at his school sports day.
He came second, just got pipped at the post by the last throw.
Very proud of him.

The page started with a Kraft Cardstock base.
I have added some interest to the background using Distress Inks
in Wild Honey, Chipped Sapphire and Black Soot.
Then I have selected three different stencils,
Kaisercraft Dotted Lines & Starburst and the Crafter's Workshop Template Diamonds.
I've randomly highlighted some of the diamonds with a white gel pen.

The Cardstock Stickers were great to embellish the page.
I have adhered some of the stickers to Black Cardstock
for better definition and then used foam tape for some added dimension.

The 'fireworks' have been hand cut from the paper Fun This Way.
I've cut the journal spot from the 4x4 Elements paper
and most pieces have been mounted on foam tape.
The word stickers are from the Cardstock Sticker Sheet
and work well with the sport theme.

The small black diamonds have been fussy cut from patterned paper
Fun This Way and then added to the page with foam tape.
The Black Cardstock was also used for the trim above the photos.

The 2 Crafty title A Star is Born has been given a few coats
of Distress Paint Black Soot.
Once the chipboard was completely dry,
I have outlined the title using a white gel pen
and faux stitching, to allow it to pop.

And that's a wrap!
Thanks for visiting the blog today.
and happy crafting for the weekend.
Pop back again on Monday for Fiona's next project.

Fish and Chips, by Amanda Hartmann

Hi all!
Who doesn't love Fish & Chips shared with friends?
This is what I am scrapping today, and I have combined the fun bright
Jillibean Soup Rainbow Roux collection with black accents for this page.

I started with the grey tones of the Drop of Fantasy paper as my base.
Then I used the bright Pinch of Colour paper. To break it up I layered it on a matte of both yellow and black cardstock. I repeated these papers to matte my 2 photos also.

For the embellishments, I used tags cut from the Bite sized bits paper, and stickers from the Label stickers pack. I inked the edges of the stickers and tags black and added foam tape for some dimension.

Here are some close ups:

I used the black lettering from the Label stickers pack to add the title.

All the small stickers and sticker strips add such fun detail to the page!

And yes, I even used my old eyelet setter to add black eyelets to the tags!

A fun page to remember a fun day with friends.

Thanks for looking today!
Amanda

I (Heart) Summer with Simple Stories Sunshine & Blue Skies by Fiona Johnstone

Hello everyone

Back again with another layout using the Simple Stories Sunshine & Blue Skies collection.

I 💗 Summer
Again I have used a woodgrain paper from another range - I love the woodgrain
 for summer pages!!
It gives me the neutral background without being as plain as cardstock.

I've used the florals, peaches and navy tones of this collection for this layout,
love how well they work together and with my photo.

Again I have used the Ephemera from the collection and some word stickers
 from another Simple Stories collection:

And the final touch being these beautiful flowers from 49 & Market.

Thanks for stopping by
Till next week

Those Eyes using My Minds Eye Happy Days by Kerryn Fry

Hello everyone!
Today I am sharing the 4th and final page created using
My Minds Eye Happy Days
I have used almost every piece of this collection
and I just love the result against the black cardstock.
The photo is one of my Great-Nieces
showing off her baby blues.

A different start for this page, Black cardstock is the star
and I love how the colours stand out even more.
I've layered the patterned papers under the photo
which has been matted with Black Cardstock for definition.
Most of the embellishments have been hand-cut from the remaining papers.

Glad Garden and Ice Cream Dreams papers provided the houses
and flowers to embellish the page.
I've used foam tape to lift these elements
and layer them across the page.
The word 'Hi' is from the Ephemera Pack
and have hand drawn a faux stitch line with a white pen.

The 2 Crafty Anthea's Butterflies have been covered
with Distress Paints first, then swiped with gold ink.
Once dry, I have sealed with Dimensional Magic for a gloss finish.

The 2 Crafty Addy's Butterflies were painted with
2 colours to coordinate with the papers
and then sat on top of the Anthea Butterflies as a second layer.

The 2 Crafty title Those Eyes was painted black
and once dry, stamped with a script stamp and gold ink.
The title was also sealed with Dimensional Magic for a glossy finish.

Thanks for visiting the blog today.
I hope you have enjoyed this collection as much as I have.
Have a great weekend with plenty of crafting.

Summer, by Amanda Hartmann

Hi all,
As the days get shorter and the temperature drops, I love scrapbooking summer! And the new collection from Simple Stories: Sunshine & Blue Skies is perfect!
I started with the navy blue background paper in the range, and then layered a number of panels of paper down the page (see list below for papers used). I distressed the edges for some detail.

I also mounted the photo with the navy and coral paper from the range. The solid papers in this range are so good for backgrounds and photo mounts!

To finish the page, I went to town with stickers from the Sticker sheet. I also tried out the 49 and market Wishing bubbles for the first time too!

Check out these close ups!

The floral bunch sticker are awesome is this collection. I also added word sticker strips along the vertical panels.

I used a white paint pen to add a few journal details and for some little white dots to the page!

In the lower photo corner, I added more stickers in the cluster. Foam tape is very helpful for adding some dimension to stickers. I also added the wishing bubbles in each cluster.

The sticker sheet had the word "Summer" and it was the perfect title!

I really loved the word stickers and little tabs on the sticker sheet. Very nice way to finish a page.

Do you have some summer photos to scrap? You really need to get this collection!

Thanks for looking,
Amanda

Good Vibes with Simple Stories Sunshine & Blue Skies by Fiona Johnstone

Hello

This week I have created a layout with the fun summer inspired range by Simple Stories -Sunshine & Blue Skies to create my layout:

Good Vibes
For my base paper I have used Kaisercraft Paradise Found, I love the woodgrain papers for beachy pages. Then I have layered up my Simple Stories Sunshine and Blue Skies papers - I have gone for a haphazard pattern to create an interesting design, keeping everything including my photo a little off kilter.
Cute little ephemera flowers and embellishments in the Simple Stories collection make the perfect additions to the page to keep the beach theme going. I have combined this with some word stickers from an older Simple Stories collection.
Finally my title is created using the ready made words in the Cocoa Vanilla Studio Happiness Die-cut titles.

Thanks for stopping by
Till next week

Living the Dream using Pinkfresh Studios Out and About by Kerryn Fry

Good morning all.
I'm back today with my first page using the collection,
Pinkfresh Studio Out and About.
A travel collection put to work on a sport page
and the colours were a great match.
I love it when the patterned papers can be adapted to suit a different purpose.
Mr almost 15, taking on the defense.

This page was started with a Kraft Cardstock base.
Then using a Tim Holtz Layering Stencil,
I have created a background effect with two coordinating Distress Inks.
The Bucket List paper was perfect to hand-cut
some elements to embellish the page.
These elements have been lifted with foam tape to create layers acrossthe page.

Some of the other hand-cut elements are from
Tickets and Explore papers
I've used them to build clusters around the photos
and add a journal spot for later.

I found an excellent quote from the very famous player, Pele,
it's been printed onto white cardstock and added to the page.
The quote pieces have been strategically placed for anonymity of the opposition.
I've used foam tape to add more dimension.

The 2 Crafty title Living the Dream says it all for this boy!
Simply painted with Black Soot Distress Paint and stuck down

A simple page today bursting with colour.
Thanks for dropping into the blog.
Enjoy your weekend, hopefully there will be some sunshine
and plenty of creating.
Please join us again on Monday for Fiona's next project.

"Pure joy", by Amanda H

Hi again AAS fans,

Last month, I shared a layout of my cute niece using this range of papers:
  Echo Park Hello Baby Girl.
I had so many lovely papers and stickers left, that I had to use them again.
Especially when I found this old photo of Abby with the perfect colours!

I used a mix and match of the papers in the range, cutting and layering different panels in the different patterns. All papers and links in store are listed below. I used a distressing tool to add detail to the edges and a pretty scallop paper edger to punch a scalloped edge on the bottoms of the papers.

All this was layered together and then finished with the Element stickers and some 2 Crafty chipboard.

I used some 2 Crafty hearts, which I painted white and then heat embossed with fine white embossing powder. I combined these with stickers and some muslin fabric.

For the title, I used 2 Crafty word 'Pure Joy', which was also painted and embossed.
It looks great on the muslin with that cute bunny sticker!

More stickers and hearts in the top left corner. You can also see a little splattering of white.
I mixed some white gesso with water and splattered this with a fine paint brush.

This photo shows all the scalloped edge layers.
Also includes a long checked sticker from the sticker sheet, and that cute deer!

I have really loved working with this range.

Thanks for looking,
Amanda
