Fun Times using Simple Stories Homegrown by Kerryn Fry

Good morning all!
I'm back today to share my second page
created with the collection Simple Stories Homegrown.
The photos are from the 2005 archives,
a very young Mr H with his Godmother,
visiting the Hahndorf Farm Barn.
Perfectly suited to this paper range.

The base is a plain sheet of Bazzill Kraft Cardstock
which worked well amongst the bright colours.
I have used six small photos in two strips
and backed them with Bazzill Raven Cardstock.
The photos have been mounted on foam tape
to pop above the paper layers.

I have hand-cut the Ee-i-ee-i-o paper
to create the cow patches around the page.
A fun element around the colourful strips.

I have also hand-cut the 'patches' from Country Fair
and placed them around the page.

The 12x12 Sticker Sheet provided great
embellishments to the page and
worked perfectly around the photos.
Some elements have been lifted with foam tape.

been covered with black ink
and backed with a scrap of white cardstock.
I've added more stickers to the base of the frame.

The animal stickers were super cute!
I loved how well they matched the photos.
The words from the Sticker Sheet
added the extra details to the photos
and were raised with foam tape.

I've used a black gel pen to add a
fake stitch line on both sides of the paper strips.

been covered with black ink
and lifted with foam tape to
create further dimension.

Thanks for visiting the blog,
I hope you have enjoyed the page
as much as I did creating it.
Have a lovely weekend

New Route with Vicki Boutin Fernwood by Fiona Johnstone

Hello everyone

Another layout with the stunning Fernwood collection by Vicki Boutin.

New Route

Love all the fern leaves in this collection, especially the large Fern mask. I've used that several times on this page in different shades of green Distress Oxides.

and more masking close-ups:

Next I added the fern leaves from the ephemera pack along with some flowers, butterflies and dragonfly.  I've added a few stickers around the page and added a cute 2Crafty arrow.

I've finished off with a title from the Thickers pack - I changed Routine to Route to suit my page.

Beautiful Girl using Photo Play Our Friendship Through the Years by Kerryn Fry

Hi everyone!
Today I'm sharing my first page created with
Photo Play Our Friendship Through the Years.
My focus for this page was to showcase
the colours in this gorgeous collection.
The cute photos are of my Great-Niece
checking on her doll to see if she was hungry.
The colours in the photos didn't quite match,
but the B&W photos worked really well.

The page started with a plain
sheet of 12x12 Bazzill Kraft Cardstock.
I've torn pieces from three of the edges
to add the patterned paper pieces.

to create a scalloped strip to add to the page
and to back some of the words used on the layout.

The Bow is from the Element Sticker sheet,
I've used it to embellish the top of the photos.
It has been lifted with foam tape.

The camera and phrase 'enjoy the moment'
have been hand cut from the Documented paper.
I've used foam tape to raise the elements
and the centre of the camera has been
hand-cut from the Do Epic Stuff paper.

The embellishment cluster in the bottom
right corner of the page has been
built bigger with florals & a heart sticker

There are also the hand-cut elements,
the butterfly and heart cut from Do Epic Stuff
added to the page with foam tape.

The words 'priceless' and 'memories' were hand-cut
from the Documented paper and backed with cardstock.

The photos were matted with the red side
of the Do Epic stuff paper.

The embellishment cluster to the left of the photos
was built with hand-cut elements.
The flowers were cut from the Together paper,
the butterfly was cut from Dream Life paper
and the flower & heart from the sticker sheet.

The 2 Crafty Beautiful Girl title was Beautiful Girls,
the 's' was removed to adapt to the page.
I have colour the title with multiple colours
of Distress Paint to replicate the So Lucky paper.
I have built the effect with layers of Evergreen Bough,
Pine Needles, Brushed Corduroy and Black Soot.
I loved the end result.

Thank you for visiting the Blog today,
I hope you have enjoyed the page.
Have a lovely weekend,
hopefully some time for crafting.
Please join us again on Monday.

Discover with Vicki Boutin Fernwood by Fiona Johnstone

Hello everyone

Another share with the stunning Fernwood Collection by Vicki Boutin.

Discover

For this layout I have used my favourite paper in the collection, Into the Woods as the focus of my page. I've used the green tones to add a small amount of watercolour and stamping to my Kraft base paper before using a full torn strip of the Into the Woods paper. I've taken the colours from this paper to add to my page with a strip of yellow from the Happy Thoughts paper and red from the Flora and Fauna paper.

Next I've used some of the florals and camera from the ephemera pack to embellish my page.  A few stickers and dots from the collection complete the design, finishing with the Thicker title Discover.

Remember moments using Simple Stories Home Grown by Kerryn Fry

Hello everyone.
The page I'm sharing today was created with
Some hilarious photos of Mr H
from the archives 2009 laying on the
floor at home being tickled.
There is nothing more precious
than a child's giggle!

I've started the page with Bazzill Kraft Cardstock.
Once I had a plan for the page
I have inked the background with
to create a shadow around the papers.

Once the ink was dry, I grabbed a stencil
from my stash, sprayed the back of it with water
and then put it down on the inked sections of the cardstock.
I picked up the excess water with paper towel.

I've then added splashes of watered
down ink to add splashes to the background.

I've cut two different sized heart shapes
from the Ee-i-ee-i-o paper to pop behind the photos.
I've raised the tops of the hearts with foam tape.

The photos have been backed with
black cardstock and lifted with foam tape.

The stickers from the Cardstock sticker sheet
have embellished the page around
the photos and were raised with
foam tape for some extra dimension.

The patches have been hand cut from
the County Fair paper and added to the page.
Some of the patches have been stuck down
with tape and some have been
lifted with foam tape.

has been covered with black ink.

was covered with black ink
and backed with with cardstock
to create a journal spot for the page.

The 2 Crafty title 'Remember moments like this
has been covered with black ink.
The sub-title is from the Cardstock Sticker sheet.

The finishing touch on the page
is watered down white gesso
flicked across the pages with a paint brush.

Thank you for visiting the blog today.
I hope you found the page inspiring
and got a bit of a giggle from the photos.

Have a fabulous weekend,
happy crafting
and join us again on Monday.

Hello 16 with Vicki Boutin Fernwood by Fiona Johnstone

Hello everyone

Back this week with the gorgeous Fernwood collection by Vicki Boutin.

Hello 16

I started with the Notebook paper - I adore this background paper with this gorgeous floral cluster and the blue/green base that is perfect for my daughters dress. I added a matte of the light green paper to the photo before fussy cutting some of the base paper so it wasn't hidden by the photo.

Next was to fussy cut some flowers from the Flora and Fauna paper and then I teamed them up with some Fernwood ephemera pieces, Fernwood stickers and some ferns from 49&Markets Hike More range. Love the cluster!

I added some butterflies to the white space at the left and added some doodling.

I finished my title using Vicki Boutins Thickers for Hello and the heart and some older Thickers numbers in my stash.

It's the Simple Things using Pinkfresh Studio Keeping it Real By Kerryn Fry

Hi everyone!
Today I am sharing my second page created with
the gorgeous collection, Pinkfresh Studio Keeping it Real.
I have been saving this photo for just
the right papers to suit the beautiful purple jacket.
Another lovely photo of my youngest niece
and her very first snow experience last year.

I started with two 12x12 sheets of
The first piece was used for the background.

Using the 6x6 Echo Park Paper Snowflake Swirl,
I have stamped the stencil in a puddle of water
and Dusty Concord Distress Ink
and then added Spun Sugar Distress Ink
through the stencil before lifting it.
A great technique from a VB video that I had to try out.

Once the background was dry, I've added
a few random areas of Pickled Raspberry Distress Ink
I have used a small stamp and gold ink
in the background and Ranger Stickles Glitter Glue.

The second sheet of Foundations Paper
was used to die-cut the snowflakes.
I've used Milled Lavender, Dusty Concord,
Spun Sugar, Pickled Raspberry Distress Inks
with the packaging technique to colour the paper.
Then die-cut multiple sizes of snowflakes.

I have layered the snowflakes with foam tape
and spread them across the page.
that extra sparkle to the page.

The rainbow strips on Big Mood paper provided
the layers of colour behind the photo
The hearts and journal card were cut from

The 2 Crafty Mini Stick That Smile
was covered with gold ink and
added to the page with foam tape.

also been covered with gold ink
and then added to the bottom left corner of the photo.
