Cute with Uniqueley Creative Summer Holiday by Fiona Johnstone

Hello everyone

Back with another page using the Uniquely Creative Summer Holiday collection.
The soft tones work perfectly for this sweet photo.

Cute

Love the soft and muted colours on this floral paper and wanted it to be a focus on my page, I combined it with the soft pink plainer patterned paper to create my background.

Next I mounted my photo on a few coordinating papers then added a doily to break up the busyness of the background paper.

I've hit up the embellishments next, adding some flower clusters to each corner and some little word tags before using the Cocoa Vanilla Studio accessory stickers to add some word details.

More ephemera flowers, some puffy stickers from Vicki Boutin and Cocoa Vanilla studio, a CVS wooden button and a fun Pinkfresh title complete my page.

Thanks for stopping by
Till next week

Just Hanging About using Simple Stories Simple Vintage Country Harvest by Kerryn Fry

Morning everyone!
Today I am sharing my first page created with
Simple Stories Simple Vintage Country Harvest.
Some fun Autumn photos of my Niece
and Great Niece playing in the leaves
while we were setting up to take some family photos.

The base is a plain 12x12 sheet of Bazzill Kraft Cardstock.
I've torn the edge of the Nature's World paper,
leaving a white exposed edge and added
those pieces to the cardstock.

At the top of the photos I've used the top
part of a 6x4 journal card under the photo
and then cut some elements from the Journal Elements paper.

The butterflies have been cut from the journal card
and from the Favorite Season paper,
these have been added with foam tape.

The 2 Crafty Chevron Bits have been
covered with Ground Expresso Distress Paint
and added in groups of three to the top
and the bottom of the page.

The 2 Crafty Autumn Leaves have been covered
with Peeled Paint, Spiced Marmalade, Mustard Seed
and Ground Expresso Distress Paints.

have been covered with the Distress Paints too.
I've used  gold pen to add
some extra details to each of the leaves.

The leaves have been layered with
some hand cut leaves from Favorite Season Paper
and a Chipboard sticker from the 6x12 chipboard sheet.

I've also add some chipboard hearts

The bottom halves of the journal cards
have been used to build the cluster
in the bottom right corner.

I've hand cut a small journal spot
and added a chipboard butterfly.

I've watered down some of the Vegas Gold Ink
and added some flicks of ink across the layout.

Thanks for visiting the blog today,
I hope you've enjoyed the steps
and been inspired to create.
Have a great weekend
and join us again on Monday.

Currently with Uniquely Creative Summer Holiday by Fiona Johnstone

Hello everyone

This week I have created a layout using Uniquely Creatives Summer Holiday range.

Currently

I've utilised the background work of the Sunkissed patterned paper for this page - adding a few splashes of Distress oxide in Spiced Marmalade to add a bit of colour to the pastel background.

Next I have layered up the deeper colour in the Staycation paper with some pretty pastel floral Beautiful paper before adding embellishments from the Cut a Parts and Creative Cuts
coordinating packs.

The 2Crafty leaves add a little extra colour and dimension.

The cute puffy hearts and word stickers are from CVS These Days collection. I finished off my page with a mix of wood veneer butterflies and a heart left natural before adding my title Currently, using some Vicki Boutin thickers.

Till next week

Girl Squad using Photo Play Our Friendship Thru the Years by Kerryn Fry

Morning everyone!
My layout today is my last page created with
Photo Play Our Friendship Thru the Years.
I literally only have random stickers left,
can you tell I loved this collection.
This is another very special memory captured with
my beautiful friend at her 40th Birthday party in 2004.

The page started a little differently this week,
a 12x12 sheet of Bazzill Raven Cardstock.
The background effect is layers of Distress Oxide Inks
and Fired Brick with a stencil from my vast collection.

Only a few layers of patterned paper under the photo,
with a hand drawn scalloped border in gold pen.
I've used stickers from the Element Sticker Sheet to
embellish the page, the flower has been lifted with foam tape.

The black & white photo has been mounted
on Raven Cardstock, then more stickers
added around the photo with foam tape.

I've used strips of white cardstock to create
an area for journaling, which I will add later.
The strips have been lifted with foam tape.

Another sticker added to the left bottom
corner of the photo, all perfect for the photo.

The title and sub-title are simple.
Both stickers from the Sticker Sheet,
raised with foam tape.
I've added black pen stitch line to the
bottom edge of the patterned paper layer.

A very simple page created with very little paper.
Love the result on the black cardstock.
Thanks for visiting the Blog today.
Have a lovely weekend
and please join us again on Monday.

Untitled with Vicki Boutin Fernwood by Fiona Johnstone

Hello everyone

Thank you for all the well wishes on the passing of my Dad.

This week I am back with a layout that has remained title-less for the moment, but is another created with the fab Fernwood collection by Vicki Boutin

I've used Vicki's foundations paper to create my background for this page. I started with some yellow and orange distress oxide inks using the plastic bag technique, then added some texture with some paint and actual bubble wrap.

My papers I have used tearing to add lots of texture, those edges not torn are slightly roughed up. Next was to fussy cut the flower cluster in the top right of my page before hitting the embellishments. I've used a matching flower cluster from the ephemera pack, a cute little house and some stickers.

To complete my embellishing I have used the cute puffy stickers from the phrase thickers pack - love the puffy butterflies - so cute!

Happy Life using Photo Play Our Friendship Thru the Years by Kerryn Fry

Hello everyone and happy Friday!
Today I am sharing another page that
I've created with the gorgeous collection,
Photo Play Our Friendship Thru the Years
The photo is my beautiful niece,
changed to B&W to pop above the
rich colours in this range.

I has so much fun with the mixed media
effect last week that I decided to play again.
Starting with the awesome Foundations Paper
from Vicki Boutin, seriously perfect for wet mediums.

I took inspiration from my favourite patterned paper
in this collection, the wood panel So Lucky paper.
The background effect started with
Evergreen Bough Distress Oxide Ink
applied with the packaging technique.

Once it was dry and I was happy with the depth of colour,
I have added a layering of dot stencilling with the same ink.
Before moving to the next layer of colour,
I have added some big drops of the same ink
watered down to drip on the paper.

The next layer of colour is
Antique Linen Distress Oxide Ink and
I have added random stencilling to the
outer edge of the Evergreen Bough layer.

The next layer is using white gesso
layering over the other colours to appear
just beyond the paper layers.

I have fussy cut all of the flower clusters
from the patterned paper Together.
These flowers have been used to create
embellishment cluster on the page.

To the right of the photo I have added the flowers
with foam tape and also added a star
and butterfly from the Element Sticker Sheet

The embellishment cluster to the left
of the photo is a combination of
hand-cut flowers from both sides of the Together paper
and also the Documented paper.
I've used foam tape to lift the flowers.

There are also multiple stickers from
the Element Sticker Sheet, the camera,
small flowers and hearts.

The words have been hand cut
from to So Lucky paper
and raised again with foam tape.

The smaller cluster at the bottom of the page
is also a mixture of hand cut flowers and stickers.
The word Priceless has been cut from the
Documented paper and backed with black cardstock
for definition against the white flowers.

The 2 Crafty Chevron Bits
have been covered with black ink
and helps to frame the cluster and title.

The simple title is a 2 Crafty Mini Title Stick
I have swiped the stick it with black ink
to keep the words neutral and clear.
I have lifted the title with foam tape.

To finish the page, I have outlined the main
piece of So Lucky paper with a black pen
and then added flicks and splashes of
watered down black gesso.

Thanks for visiting the blog today,
I hope you have enjoyed the steps to this page
and get a chance to be creative over next few days.
Enjoy your weekend and join us again next week

Fabulous Forever using Photo Play Our Friendship Thru the Years by Kerryn Fry

Hi Everyone!
Today I'm sharing my second project
that was created with the collection
Photo Play Our Friendship Thru the Years.

The photo is a very precious memory.
My beautiful friend and Mr H's Godmother
who passed away in 2009.
A very early photo of Mr H taken in 2004,
I was about 8 months pregnant.

Loads of mixed media on this background.
The base is Vicki Boutin Mixed Media 12x12 Foundations Paper,
the perfect base for any wet mixed media products.

The first layer is the packaging technique
using Fired Brick Distress Oxide Ink and water.
Once dry, I have repeated the technique
and added some big drops of ink.

The next layer is with a Crafters Workshop Stencil
and Fired Brick Distress Oxide Ink, applied with a blending tool.
I have then used a second Crafters Workshop Stencil
and Antique Linen Distress Oxide Ink.

The next layer is gold ink
to add pops of gold to the background.
I've applied it with a blending tool.

To finish off  the background, I've made separate liquid mixes
of Fired Brick Distress Oxide, Gold ink
and Black Gesso to add splashes to the paper.

The top of the page is a paper strip of Together,
a sticker border from the Element Sticker Sheet
and the 'Good Time' and 'Best Friends' words
from the Element Sticker Sheet.

I've hand-cut some flowers from the Together paper
to create clusters around the photo.
The quote was hand-cut from So Lucky paper
and backed with Bazzill Raven Cardstock.
The black cardstock has also been used
to back the photo and create a border strip under the photo.

The title and sub-title has been created
with stickers from the Element Sticker Sheet.
I've lifted some elements with foam tape
to add some dimension to the page.

The final touches are the small
heart stickers scattered around the title.

Thanks for visiting the blog today,
I hope you have enjoyed the page.
Have a great, crafty weekend
and join us again next week.
