Scrap Squad
using Simple Stories Safe Travels
by Fiona Johnstone

Hello everyone

Todays layout with Simple Stories Safe Travels - memories from last years scrapbook retreat just before the next one - which unfortunately isn't looking to likely to go ahead with the current Sydney lockdown!

Scrap Squad

The blues and oranges in this range were perfect for this photo from last scrap retreat, I teamed them up with some stamping onto a kraft background - love the new Vicki Boutin stamp in the Color Story range!

I added tearing and distressed paper layers, using a few more tags for extra texture. I've used this gorgeous bloom from Green Tara as a focal embellishment, adding a small camera and a sticker from the Safe Travels foam thickers.

Title from Pebbles Girl Squad and some old Jillibean alpha stickers.

Get Away with Simple Stories Safe Travels by Fiona Johnstone

Hello everyone

I've got a page with the Travel inspired collection by Simple Stories:  Safe Travels.
It was nice to be able to document being able to fly again (though current plans are
up in the air again!)

Get Away

This is range has some fab colours in it, this week I am showcasing the blues and pinks for my layout. I have masked the white cardstock with a subtle stenciling in blue ink to co-ordinate my page and have matted the cardstock onto a pink border.

Next it was layering up my patterned papers, alternating between the blues and pinks!

I love that this range has a whole sheet of shipping tags as patterned paper, they are easy to cut and make perfect and inexpensive embellishments. I have used one to tuck and one as a focal point on my page.

The other embellishments I have kept simple as my title and the shipping tag are large focuses on the page. I have used a wood veneer aeroplane and some of the foam flowers from the Foam Stickers packet.

I have also used the Foam Stickers pack for my title - love how big this title is!

Summer Fun using Echo Park Paper Slice of Summer by Kerryn Fry

Hello everyone!
Today I've create my first page using the collection,
Echo Park Paper Slice of Summer.
I found the perfect photos of my niece,
from January 2012, in her gorgeous heart covered swim suit.
I had a series of photos to fit on the page,
so decided to do a little fussy cutting.

The page has started with Bazzill Kraft Cardstock.
The background effect was created with Distress Oxide Inks
Faded Jeans and Speckled Egg,
using an older Vicki Boutin Stencil.
I've dried the oxide inks with a heat gun
Iridescent Glitter.....LOVE IT!!

I've hand cut a number of elements from Fun in the Sun paper.
The sun and 'Hello Summer' cloud have been lifted with foam tape.
The other sparkle element on the page is Ranger Stickles Glitter Glue.
I've added it to the flowers, butterflies and the sun.

The words have also been hand cut from the Fun in the Sun paper.
The banner was cut from 3x4 Journaling Cards.
Plenty of foam tape used to create dimension across the page.

The flowers and butterflies have been hand-cut
form the 3x4 Journaling Cards paper.
I've used a border punch with the reverse side of Fun in the Sun
for the lighter blue strip and to back the words 'Summer is here'.

The 2 Crafty title Summer Fun has been covered
with white gesso as a base.
Once dry, I've added a layer of
Stickles Glitter Glue for the extra sparkle.
I've also add the glitter glue to the hearts
on the bathers in the middle photo.
The photos have been cut out to fit on the page
and each photo has been lifted with foam squares.

Thank you for visiting the Blog today.
I hope you like the page
and are inspired to do some fussy cutting.
Have a fabulous weekend, enjoy your crafting time
and please join us again on Monday for Fiona's next project.

Do all the Fun Things with Vicki Boutin Colour Study by Fiona Johnstone

Hello

This week I have cracked open the Color Study papers - love how bright and funky this collection is!!

Do all the Fun Things!

The boss lady challenged me to use coloured photos with this collection and I think these ones work perfectly! I've focused on the papers with the red, yellow and blue combo to match the ride!

First up I have created a masked background combining the three primary colours,  then I've layered up some papers in the primary colours and throwing in some more spots to match my background.

I have fussy cut the Colour Wheel from the back of the base paper - Perspective. Next I have hit the ephemera pack and cardstock sticker sheet to find some cute embellishments to compliment my page. I adore the large bull clip! Of course you can never go wrong with butterflies too !

A smattering of hearts from the puffy stickers combined with the hearts from the Thickers finish off the embellishing. Then I have added some journalling stickers from the CVS Sunkissed collection and finished with large title with the Color Study Thickers.

What a Wonderful Day using Echo Park Paper Pool Party by Kerryn Fry

Hi Everyone!
I'm back today to share my second page
created with the gorgeous collection,
Echo Park Paper Pool Party
The cute photos are from 2012,
one of my beautiful great-nieces,
out and about in the City of Adelaide.

The Kraft Cardstock was the perfect base
for the colours in this collection.
The 3 photos have been backed with black cardstock
and lifted on the page with foam tape.

I've created three embellishment clusters around the photos.
The top cluster consists of hand cut leaves
from the reverse side of the 4x4 Journaling Cards paper.
Also 2 Crafty Lattice leaves covered
with Pine Needles Distress Paint.

The cluster on the left side has more
hand cut leaves, lifted with foam tape.
The 2 Crafty Hibiscus has been cut in half
and then painted with 3 colours of Distress Paint.
Started with Mustard Seed in the centre,
then Spiced Marmalade, with a touch of Worn Lipstick.

I've tucked another 2 Crafty Lattice Leaf
under the hand cut leaves.
A black gel pen has been used to add a faux stitch border
around the edge of two patterned paper pieces to tie the black together.

The bottom cluster has the other half
of the 2 Crafty Hibiscus tucked under
the corner of the photo.
Some more hand cut leaves
in varies colours, all lifted with foam tape.

I've added a few pieces of Lucky Dip Wooden pieces.
The book plate has been backed with white cardstock
and will be used for some journaling.

has been covered with black ink
and add to the page with glue.
I've added string bow to the tag
and left the tails longer to drape across the page.

Thank you for visiting the blog today.
Have an amazing weekend,
hopefully plenty of time for some crafting.

Hi Sunshine
with Echo Park A Slice of Summer
by Fiona Johnstone

Hello everyone

This week I've created a page using the summery Echo Park collection - A Slice of Summer. Adore the colours in this range!

Hi Sunshine

Loving the tearing trend at the moment, it really adds dimension to the layout, as does a diecut background - they don't all need to be backed! I especially love the white on the Timber background.

I've fussy cut some flowers from the Summer Floral paper to add to the side of photo, layering these with some flowers from CVS Sunkissed Collection

The cutest stickers can be found in the Echo Park Slice of Summer Puffy Stickers pack - cute butterflies, flowers, sun and cute quote!

I've finished off my page with a title from an older Simple Stories collection.

Star Student using Simple Stories School Life by Kerryn Fry

Hello everyone!
Today I'm sharing the first page that
I have created using the collection,
Simple Stories School Life.
My favourite colour palette!
The photo is Mr H's school photo from last year.
This kid is growing up way too fast.

The page started with a clean piece of Bazzill Kraft Cardstock.
I've let the bright colours in this collection shine through.
Lots of paper layers under the photo
and Cardstock Stickers to embellish the page.

The top right corner of the page
has the flag banner and word sticker
added to the page with foam tape.
I've used a white gel pen to add
faux stitch circles around the spots on the paper.

To the left of the photo I've added more of the
Cardstock Stickers to create an embellishment cluster.
The 'first day' has been added directly to the page,
The other stickers have been lifted with foam tape
and staggered down the side of the photo.
I've used a black gel pen to add a border
to some of the elements on the page.

I've hand cut the 'clipboard' journal spot
from the 3x4 Elements paper.
The white section of the journal card
has been outlined with a black gel pen.
'The 'Choose to Shine' words have been hand cut
from the 2x2 & 4x4 Elements paper
and added to the page with foam tape.
I've added more cardstock stickers to
this cluster with foam tape.
The photo has been backed with
the Honor Rollin' black side patterned paper.

The cluster in the top left corner of the page
is a mixture of 2 Crafty chipboard and word stickers.
The 2 Crafty Scrabble Tiles have been
covered with Candied Apple Distress Paint.
Once dry, I've outlined each tile with a white gel pen.
The words added are form the Cardstock Sticker sheet
and have been outlined with a black gel pen.

covered with Black Soot Distress Paint.
I've backed the large star with scrap patterned paper.
I've highlighted the letters and smaller stars
with a white gel pen to pop the title.
The chipboard has been lifted with foam tape.

Thank you for visiting the blog today.
I hope the page has inspired you to
get those school photos out and
get creative this weekend.
Have fun and join us again on Monday.
