Basic Grey - B Side Collection by Rachel Lowe - Happiness Is This:

This new B-Side collection was so much fun to play with. I love the vibrant pink, green,
yellow colours with a touch of black! It is very on-trend and you can create many themes
 due to it's versatility.
Here I went for a modern but fun look. Again because I used a
smaller photo (you could use a 6x4 inch portrait photo) I framed it so it did not get
 lost amongst the die cuts.

This collection has a pack of frames with various designs/colours. I added 2Crafty chipboard
word title, arrow and mini hearts which I coloured with versa ink and a splash of colour
 shine to finish.

I hope this has inspired you to create your own 'B side' layout!

My Story continues....
by Tammy Klingner

Hi everyone

I'm back to share another layout from the awesome 'My Story' Range available at
All About Scrapbooks.
Last week I did a bright funky page about myself and my daughter, and I was really
 taken with the gold accents.

So this week I decided to do a monochromatic page, using black, white and pops of gold.

I smeared some gesso over the paper, and then some gold paint.
I then gathered together scraps that happened to be sitting on my desk from other layouts,
from both the My Story range and also the Basic Grey Barista Range.

I also added a Simple Stories Frame - I am really loving the look of frames in the background of my layouts.
I like how it adds depth and layering without 'blocking' everything.
I love mixing up ranges.....at first it can be a little scary, but starting with a monochromatic theme can really help at first, as you are really only searching for one colour to mix.

I added embellishments to the layers - lots of word stickers, which I'm also a little obsessed with.
I cut a few arrows out of a 12x12 paper.
The gold in this paper range is stunning.
I love how it went so well with my bright, fresh layout from last week, but also feels
so 'classy' added to black and white.

Of course a layout of mine at the moment wouldn't be complete without a few
sequins.......here's a close up...
   Back again soon!
I am so LOVING playing with these amazing products!!

Echo Park - The Wildlife "Happy Campers" by Fiona Johnstone

Hello all

This week I've got another layout to share using the Echo Park Wildlife collection. The gorgeous colours in this collection were well suited to my photo of the kids off on their Cubs camp this year. It did need a pop of yellow to match the uniforms of course, which I found in an old Kaisercraft range.

I love this big chipboard circle, perfect for framing the photo. I have mainly contained all my papers to this circle to draw the eye in to the photo. The circle revolution piece itself has been inked lightly in brown, then I have randomly gone over sections a second time to give a heavier coat.
My title Happy Campers, as well as some cute travel themed words I have stuck onto the circle revolution frame to keep the focus in the circle.
I have finished the layout with some cute little stars to match the background constellation paper and some sequins for a little sparkle.
Thanks for stopping by today
Till next week

Bo Bunny - You're Invited Flower power by Rachel Lowe:

Happy Monday everyone Rachel here to share another layout created using the
divine collection by Bo Bunny aptly named You're Invited.
Although this is a collection that is all about celebrations and parties I wanted to show you how versatile it can be. I am a lover of dark florals and contrasts which is why I went with a stark white background. To add texture I created a butterfly background with a Silhouette digital cut file (you could hand punch the butterflies).  I then added a 2Crafty chipboard butterfly which I inked. I created a handmade a bow, foamed taped the floral bunch above the photo, added enamel dots and I also foamed taped the 'oh Happy Day' die cut.

This collection really is lovely and very versatile.
Thanks for having a look and see you next Monday

My Story
by Tammy Klingner

Have you seen the gorgeous range 'My Story' by My Minds Eye?
It is divine.  I am absolutely in love with it!!
So in love that it sat on my desk for 2 weeks!! WHAT! I know crazy??
But it's one of those ranges I love so much that I just want to look at it....cutting into it seems so wrong.....thank goodness this only lasted 2 weeks and then that itchy feeling took over, and, well, the cutting began!!

Here's a little pic, so you understand what I'm talking about!

Sorry it's so small - but if you head HERE you will find the entire range available at All About Scrapbooks.

Here's the first layout I came up with.....the colours are beautiful -
pinks, golds, yellows and blacks.
I teamed them with a white background and I love the fresh modern feel it created.

And here's a closer look.

I created a watercolour background by using my Prima Watercolour Pencils.  I just use a small brush (nothing fancy), LOTS of water, and I brush it into the tip of the pencil and then apply to page.
For this soft pink colour, I didn't brush for long on the pencil tip - as I didn't want a lot of depth.
It's important to note that before doing any of this, I apply a clear/transparent gesso to my page as this creates a barrier for the watercolour to sit onto.

I then added a few layers of some of the patterned papers - they are gorgeous!
I cut a few random triangles as well, added some stickers, a flair, some twine, sequins and a chipboard 2 Crafty arrow (painted black).
The pops of gold throughout this range are simply stunning.

I'll be back soon with another layout created from this paper range soon.

Thanks for stopping by.

Bo Bunny Sweet Life & Crate Journey "Dream" by Fiona Johnstone

Hello everyone

Back with another layout created using the gorgeous Bo Bunny Sweet Life collection. I have combined this with some papers from  Crate Paper Journey Collection, to create my layout:

Love this carefree photo of Lily taken down by the beach on a sunny but cool day. The pinks and blues in this range are gorgeous but I wanted to add a touch of the teal colour of Lily's jacket and the sandstone of the rock. Initially I was going to use the cork paper as the full background but decided to soften the page with a watercoloured background using my Dylusions inks.

The embellishment packet in the Bo Bunny Sweet Life collection contains a tonne of these beautiful butterflies which I have used to frame my photo. I've added this cute 2Crafty dream catcher which I have coloured with gelatos, then adorned with a couple of enamel dots.

This cute quote is from Simple Stories Summer Vibes stickers. I've added another butterfly here and the tag with the title Dream already on it. I've finished the layout by adding a little more texture with the 2Crafty Hessian patches. Love these, so funky, I've just left them raw.

Thanks for stopping by the blog today,
till next week

Get your B-Side on by Rachel Lowe:

Happy Monday everyone.
Today I am showing another layout created using B-Side by Basic Grey.
I just love this photo of my girl and immediately wanted to scrap it.
I went fun and loud
I used Geletos to create the pink and yellow water colour effect on
the white Bazzill card stock. (you could use water colour paints to create the same effect). With placement,  colour choices and layering this layout
really 'pops' and suites this photo of a teenager perfectly.
The large black title finishes off this layout perfectly.
You really can create very different looks/styles with this collection.
 Happy creating!

Feeling Lucky by
Tammy Klingner

Hi Everyone.
Well it's Friday already, so it's my turn to share......
Today I have a bright layout I created using Bella Boulevard and Simple Stories DIY Boutique.  These two ranges blend together so easily!
I love the little frame embellishments you are seeing everywhere at the moment....there are many available in sticker form or die cut form.
I love using them in layers behind my photos.
These ones from Simple Stories really appealed due to the colours and words on them!
I know they will go with so many different ranges.
As the background paper I chose was really busy, I toned it down a little with gesso, and then stamped with a triangle stamp, to tie in with the triangle paper.  I added the frames, a few painted chipboard stars and a few pops of embellishements.
I loved creating his page and can't wait to do a few more with my leftover bits and pieces
 from these ranges.
Hope you get to play too.
Bye for now.

Bo Bunny Sweet Life "This is the Good Life" by Fiona Johnstone

Hello everyone

Happy Hump Day! Today I am sharing a layout created using Bo Bunny's Sweet Life collection. This collection came out earlier in the year and I loved it and finally got around to having a play and creating a couple of pages.

These photos were taken on a recent trip away, we were waiting for someone and the kids were just hamming it up and having some fun, killing time. As you can see their clothes are rather busy with colour, but this range has so many colours in the collection it is easy to mix and match!!
The background paper I have chosen is already patterned but I have added a little extra gesso and a little extra stamping. I've used a mix of the patterned papers and embellishments from this collection to bring in a bit of all those colours!
Some close-ups:

The paper embellishments are Bo Bunny Die-cuts. I have added in a few favourites - some wood veneer, a flutterby designs flair and enamel dots.
My title "This is the Good Life"  is a  2Crafty Chipboard piece, that I have gone over in gelatos. I've used a mix of two pink colours and blended them in over the chipboard.
The two quotes are Kaisercraft Clear Stickers and perfectly suit this photo series. Not the main part of our day, but definitely a memorable moment.
Thanks for stopping by

Bo Bunny - You're Invited by Rachel Lowe:

Happy Monday everyone Rachel here again.
Ok hands up who finds birthday photos hard to scrap? My hand is up! I always find birthday photos difficult to take and they end up just capturing the chaos of the day.  I now have a very organised way to ensure I have one photo I can scrap each year. One child, one card with the age on it and some good light!
This collection is just lovely with its pastel colours, ombre papers and a hint of black to keep it modern. Birthdays are candles,  balloons, cakes and pretty packages of course!
I foam taped the die cut balloons (also adding twine) which creates the illusion they are floating. I added some enamel dots to add texture to dot paper. I also foam taped my photo.
It really is a wonderful way to watch your children grow taking the 'same' photo each year. I also do this for the first day of each school year.
Here is another layout using the same collection.
This layout is soft and I adore the pastel hues and florals.
I have used a digital cut file from Silhouette to create the XOXO background and then used papers randomly to create interest. This layout would work without it and instead you could cut two floral strips at 1 inch each and attach to the top and bottom of white bazzill.  I have fussy cut several flower bunches from the floral paper. I have randomly added enamel dots to flowers and as I always do I have foam taped elements such as my photo, flowers and chipboard to add extra visual interest.
So even though this collection is about celebrating it doesn't have to be just about parties it can be any event in your life you want to celebrate.
Happy scrapping your own special celebration!

More Hello Lovely
by Tammy Klingner

Happy FriYay everyone!
I'm back with another of my designs using the Hello Lovely  range from Cocoa Vanilla Studios.
I really love this collection.
And guess what else?  It's Aussie!! How cool is that!

You may have worked out by now that I'm drawn to black and white on my layouts.
I find they make a great base to your layout.
I'm also very drawn to words, especially hand-scripted ones, so the ephemera in this range is right up my alley!

For this range I added turquoise, grey and woodgrain to the black and white palette.
I started by smearing some gesso using a very cool circle stencil.

Once this dried I added a few strips of patterned paper, some stickers,
die cuts, and wood veneer.
This range truly has everything.
I was really drawn to the butterflies in the die cut pack, and so I
punched a few extra out from leftover paper.

I added some 2 Crafty chipboard, and some sequins to finish off the page.
I really love the colour palette,
and this could easily be used to create boyish pages too.

Thanks for stopping by.
Happy scrapping!

Echo Park The Wild Life "Dude" by Fiona Johnstone

Hello everyone

Today I am sharing a layout I have created using the awesome, outdoorsy collection, The Wild Life by Echo Park. A recent photo of my son, who clearly didn't want his photo taken at the time.

I've created a lightly masked background using a 12 x 12 crafters workshop template and a distress ink in a similarly toned colour for a subtle background. I love the fresh green and oranges in these papers and extended it to my embellishments. The papers I have torn and layered and inserted some sheer fabric between the layers for added depth.
These gorgeous 2Crafty pieces are Heidi's Vines. I have inked them in a combination of brown , green and orange inks to represent the pattern on one of the paper sheets. I have used these in opposite corners with a bunch of paper leaves to create added layers.
To complete my layout I have used a variety of green, brown and orange embellishments from my stash.

Thanks for stopping by

B-Side - Basic Grey by Rachel Lowe

Welcome to the beginning of another week.
This is the first layout I created using B-Side by Basic Grey and I just love it!
The colour scheme of this collection is so on trend right now.
The paper designs are modern and fun.
I think the 'star' of this layout is the Gigi's chipboard flowers by 2Crafty, although the
layout is vibrant in colour the inked flowers give it a classic feel. Versa ink the base of the chipboard flower in a darker shade of whatever colour you choose to use and then a lighter colour on actual flower to give light and shade contrast.
I inked the leaf flourishes also by 2Crafty and foam taped the flowers to create a 3D effect.
 Just so pretty!
Don't be afraid to use bold colour combinations they can really make your photo pop.
You can easily scrap lift this layout to have your own B-Side.
