What a difference using Bella Blvd Pop Quiz by Kerryn Fry
Good morning everyone!
Today I'm sharing a page created using the fabulous school collection,
Every year, like many others, I like to take a photo of
Mr 13 in his school uniform.
When comparing this year with last year's photo,
I was gobsmacked and a little sad to see how much our boy had changed,
or should I say grown up.
The colours in this collection are amazing and bright, which I love!
So I kept the Kraft cardstock background reasonably soft.
Using 6x6 Crafters Workshop Templates, a cheapie hexagon stencil
and 3 Distress Inks, I have added some colour to the cardstock.
Mermaid Lagoon, Ripe Persimmon and Black Soot worked well with the papers.
The Ephemera Pack had some great pieces to build the clusters on the page.
I have used scrap cardboard and foam squares to define the different layers.
The 2 Crafty Chevrons Bits were given a few coats of Distress Paint Candied Apple
to balance the pop of red in the lockers.
Love the 2 Crafty Sun!
Using just the rays of the sun to create a spot for the journalling.
The sun has been painted with Distress Paint Fossilized Amber and
then added a touch of Ripe Persimmon.
The photos have been matted with Black Cardstock to add another layer.
I have used a black pen to doodled some faux stitching.
I have fussy cut the hexagon shapes from one of the patterned papers
and lifted the with foam squares.
This cluster has been created from elements in the Ephemera Pack.
The title has been created using foam Thickers from my stash.
The 2 Crafty Mini Camera has been painted with Distress Paint Hickory Smoke.
The date stamped with Ranger Archival Ink.
That's my page for this week.
Thanks for visiting the blog today and I hope your have a great weekend.
Please check back on Monday for Fiona's next project.

"Amazing" by Amanda H
Hi all!
With my last share of April, I am using the wonderful and amazing Pink Fresh "Let your Heart Decide" collection, teamed with some Tim Holtz Distress Oxides.
Here is the page! And below are some photos of how I used the Distress Oxides...
and a bonus card!!!!!
The colours in this collection are amazing. I used two main sheets of paper from the range: Impulse and Instinct. I used Distress Oxides plus heaps of stickers from the Pink Fresh collection.
Before we look at the details, let me show you how I used the Distress Oxide Inks.
I was able to directly ink with Tim Holtz - Distress Oxide Ink Pad - Abandoned Coral onto these 2 Crafty chipboard Leafy Twig branches.
I pressed some ink on a messy mat and sprayed with water.
I was able to swipe the chipboard through this. This adds variations and different colouring to the chipboard.
With the excess ink, I soaked up some in some muslin fabric to colour it to match the layout.
The lovely stickers in the Pink Fresh range some on some very cool packaging cardboard. I decided that this cardboard would be great to use on the page. I swiped a piece of it through the Distress Oxide Ink. This piece of cardstock did not end up making onto a page, instead I used it to make a card.
Next using the Tim Holtz - Distress Oxide Ink Pad - Cracked Pistachio I pressed it onto a messy mat and sprayed it with water.
I used this ink to splatter on the page and on the cardboard panel.
Now let's look at some of the details of the page.
I love the patterned paper, with the subtle splatters of Inks. Combined this with some chipboard, stickers and flowers and I do love this page! Behind the photo I used some of the sticker cardboard packaging. I ink all the edges of all the papers with Tim Holtz - Distress Oxide Ink Pad - Abandoned Coral.
I used some 49 & Market flowers and wires throughout the page. I combined the yellow vintage flower blends, with the chipboard and ink-coloured muslin.
This Pink Fresh collection has some awesome stickers. You can see many of the Puffy stickers in these close ups. How sweet is the Hummingbird puffy sticker?
I also used Dimensional Magic on the chipboard.
Also in this cluster is the title. I used the Puffy sticker "amazing".
In the other photo corner, you can see I repeated the chipboard, muslin, flowers and more puffy stickers.
At the top, I created another cluster, this time combining the same elements with some stickers from the Sticker Pack.
Once my page was done, I had some leftovers. The cardboard panel, made with packaging from the sticker pack, was coloured with the Distress Oxides. With this as the background, it was easy to layer the muslin and stickers to make a quick and easy card. I will give this to my husband for our next anniversary.
I love this range! I think I need to buy some more!
Thank you for looking today!
Amanda

Lovely with Simple Stories Bliss by Fiona Johnstone
As you can see this is the same background in my photos as my share from the other week. I have focused more on the blues for this layout to compliment my daughters dress.
I have layered some papers from a few other collections alongside the main Bliss papers, and again used a doily for some added layers.
Love the large butterfly as a focal embellishment on this layout, I've combined it with some smaller butterflies and some die-cut flowers from the ephemera pack .
More layer details with a border sticker and some tearing adding to the texture of the layout.
Thanks for stopping by
Till next week

Caught in the Act using Pinkfresh Studios A Case of the Blahs by Kerryn Fry
Good morning everyone.
Today I have another page to share using the cool collection,
I loved this collection so much from last week, I just kept creating!
And still loving the older photos of our boy, this one also from the archives and love the B&W.
A much younger Mr 13 looking a little guilty, Easter weekend 2009.
This week I have kept the background effect subtle.
Kraft cardstock as the base, then some Distress Inks and a cheapie stencil.
Using Picket Fence, Stormy Sky and Ripe Persimmon inks to colour the background
and a metallic gel pen for a few finishing touches.
I have die cut the doily and tag from the pattern paper Messy
and then cut a few elements from the reverse side.
Foam tape has been used to create layers and some string added.
The Ephemera Die-Cuts were fabulous to build the clusters.
Some more foam tape used to add dimension.
Some of the houses were fussy cut from the patterned papers.
The 2 Crafty Mini Camera was painted with Distress paint
and then lightly doodled with gel pen
I love that there are so many different elements in the Ephemera and chipboard packs.
They work so perfectly for the everyday moments.
The pops of colour in this collection are the stand outs for me
The 2 Crafty title Caught in the Act was painted using Distress Black paint.
I have then stamped with white ink and an old stamp.
Using more Distress Paint, I have coloured random circles in the stamp pattern,
using colours from the collection.
The final layer is Dimensional Magic

"Crafty Girls", by Amanda H
I started with a sheet of paper in the range (3x4 elements) - I loved the wood grain effect and white doodled images on this paper!
I kept the page simple, by layering an old white paper bag and white paper doily under the photo, rather than introducing any more patterned papers.
In these close ups, you can see how I used some 2 Crafty chipboard and stickers to finish the page.
On either side of the photo, I used some 2 Crafty chipboard film strips. I inked these black.
Then I took the Crafty Girl Combo Cardstock Stickers and used a variety of them around the page. There are flowers, hearts, paintbrushes, words, word quotes, longer strip stickers. All combined perfectly to finish this page. Plus I have some many left over for another page!
I also found a 2 Crafty chipboard camera, which I inked yellow and added a coat of dimensional magic to. Another great finishing touch!
I also finished with some white and black ink splatters and a few black sequins.
What a great collection! Thanks for looking,
Amanda

Little Moments with Simple Stories Bliss by Fiona Johnstone
The colours in this collection were just perfect for some recent photos I had done of my girls - my brother in law was the photographer and he was testing out his new mauve backdrop!
I love a woodgrain paper as a background and this one was so pretty with the extra floral details.
I've added some paper layers from the collection, and combined this with a paper in the Simple Stories Romance collection. Combining papers from the same manufacturer, but a different range, is a great way to start combining different papers in your layouts as they are often complimentary.
There are some super cute embellishments in this collection, and I have chosen to use the ephemera pieces to embellish my page - love the cute bottle of flowers. Lots of cute little phrases in this ephemera pack too, I have used Happy Little Moments as my title.
To finish off my embellishments, I have added a xoxo in wood veneer from my stash and some CVS goodies - an enamel flower and a flair badge.
Thanks for stopping by
Till next week
