Best Day Ever using Simple Stories Hey, Crafty Girl by Kerryn Fry

Good morning Crafters!
Today I've managed to squeeze a third page from the collection,
Simple Stories Hey, Crafty Girl
This range was really easy to use, considering its theme,
I loved the colours, bright and happy and the reverse patterns were simple.
The photo is from a few years ago, a rare snap snuggling with my boy.
A great day at the park, spent with my sister and her grand-daughters.

I've used the reverse side of the paper
Makers Gonna Make as the base page.
I thought the green was a great match for the photo
and it had a simple, clean background pattern to work with the page.

The layers of patterns and colours have been balanced to work with each other,
trying to alternate the white background papers onto the coloured ones.
The floral paper DIY Queen was used on the page
and then the flowers were hand-cut from the remainder of the paper.

I've cut a circle from the reverse of Made With Love
and used it as a journal spot for the page.
The hand-cut flowers have been used to frame the circle.
All of the flowers have been lifted with foam spots for some dimension.

The small hearts have been hand-cut from the paper Made With Love,
they were placed on the page with foam spots
and formed a decorative edge across the base of the photo.
The small alphas have been backed with patterned paper and added with foam spots.

The 2 Crafty Lattice Leaves were covered with Peeled Paint Distress Paint
and added to embellish the circle frame.

The 2 Crafty title Best Day Ever was covered with Black Soot Distress Paint
to highlight the black touches in the patterned papers
and black matt used to define the photo edges.

That's a wrap from me today.
I hope you have enjoyed the steps
and get a chance to create over the weekend.
Please join us again on Monday for Fiona's next page
