So I won't show off and say I am currently in Florence, Italy!
Today I have two boy layouts for you.
I love a good boy collection and this new collection by Echo Park Pinstripes Boy is just awesome (petticoats is the girl version).
I love this photo of my baby boy (being the youngest of four he will ALWAYS be my baby!!) and rocket shops, stars and little boys just go together.
Firstly I have cut a circle at 8x8 inches in the navy blue paper. I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut various sized stars but you could use punches to create the same effect. I chose the yellow tan paper as I wanted a stark contrast.
I them went about creating layers to mat my photo and in keeping with my theme of stars I chose the rocket ship paper and the speciality foil stars paper which I broke up with hints of dark blue and red.
To add more texture and interest I have sewn around my layers.
I then chose the stickers to keep with my theme and foam taped these to add depth to my layout.
I hand cut out the 'NOTE' banner from a 4x6 journalling cards paper and once it has been show cased I will go back and add one hand written journalling to give my layout meaning.
With my left overs from this collection I created another layout for you.
Firstly I splattered my white bazzil with yellow spray in a random fashion.
I have hand stitched my over sized title 'Dream Big'. Hand stitching is a cheap (if somewhat time consuming) and effective way of adding a real 'wow' factor to your layouts.
I have made the star foiled speciality paper a feature behind my photo and then layered a strip of the yellow tan paper behind it.
I created an embellishment cluster to the right of the photo, a sticker at the top left of my photo and finished of with the zig zag border sticker under the photo.
Finally I added some small star stickers to the top, left of my page.
I love creating a minimalist layout as they are always so clean and fresh but still visualising striking.
You sometimes need very little product to make a great layout.
Thank you for stopping by today and see you next week and yes I will be back in Australia and back to reality.
Love these Rach- I adore your stitching!
