Bella BLVD - Hush Little Baby Layout and card set by Rachel Lowe:

Happy Monday everyone, Rachel here again and this week I have a layout and card set using the oh so cute Bella BLVD Sweet Baby Girl collection.

This photo is of my daughter leaving hospital in her 'going home' outfit (a very cute pink Peter Rabbit outfit with floral detail), in keeping with her outfit I decided to create a 'floral' layout.
I used a flower punch to create the larger lavender flower, layering and using foam tape to give it more height.

I then picked out the flower die cuts , as you will see I have sewn the stems of the three flower die cuts, this added more texture to the layout and it assists in drawing your eye to the feature.
I am sure you have noticed the new trend of paper fringes, I love them and again I have used it on my layout. They are easy to make, on this layout I cut a 1 inch strip, on the reverse I drew a line in pencil in the centre and then cut to this line all the way along. This ensures your fringe is even, you can of course create any sized fringe or create a border with multiple paper fringes.

I have foam taped the die cut word 'love' and the adorable hedgehog.
I them chose the stickers that were relevant to this memory/photo.
I finished this layout with randomly adding some enamel dots.

Sewn stems create texture and visual interest.

This border has multiple layers and finished off with a hand punched flower.

All elements here are foam taped and finished off with enamel dots.

As I used white as my background on both layouts created using this collection I had lots of die cuts, stickers and paper left over and I so I created some cards and two small gift tags. I love having a 'card' box with ready made cards for any occasion and it is budget friendly.

Here are some close up photos.

Here you will see I have used the 2Crafty heart clumps chipboard which I painted in white. How cute does it look on this card!

I love to sew on cards as it adds more texture and visual interest.

I have foam taped the die cuts to create a 3D effect.

I created a double paper fringe on the below card.
I have also added enamel dots to further add visual interest.

Gift tags are a great way to use up your left overs and add a personal touch to your gift wrapping.

This collection is just lovely (there is also a boy version) for layouts, cards or even a mini album.
Thank you for stopping by and next week I have a boy themed layout using Kaisercraft Sea Breeze with a 2Crafty feature.

Have a happy and safe week.

Everyday is an Adventure
by Tammy Klingner

Hi everyone, well what a week that was!

Today I'm here to share a recent layout created using My Minds Eye 'My Story' Range.
I adore this range, and have created a couple of layouts with it, but still had lots left, so decided to keep playing......

This layout is about my One Little Word for 2016, inspired by the amazing Ali Edwards.
Every year I select a word to focus on, to inspire me throughout the year.

I created a simple watercolour background, and then added a strip of paper.
I added some layers of paper, and then went crazy hand cutting from all the papers.
I hand cut some gorgeous flowers from the beautiful floral paper.
I attached my photo, and added a few cut out butterflies and arrows.
Even my title was cut out from paper.

I used foam tape in between the layers of these, to create some depth.
Finally,  I finished it off with a few of the Enamel Shapes.  Love these!!!

This range is truly beautiful, one of my absolute favourites that I've had the pleasure of working with.
There's still plenty left in store.  Go HERE to have a look!

I also used the leftovers to create a weekly spread for Project Life.
I cut all my paper scraps to 6x4 and 3x4 to suit my pockets.
Here's the week:

 Here's the left side:

And here's the right:

This week was a busy one, with my girl and I going on an adventure together.
Because of this I had lots of extra photos, so I added in an extra page.
The pocket is from the Simple Stories range.
Here's the front:

And the back:

And here's how it looks sitting on the weekly spread:

I love how it's a different size to the rest - it creates real interest and a point of difference within my weekly layouts.

Well after a long post, that's it from me.......
Have a lovely weekend

Cocoa Vanilla Totally Rad - Totally Cute by Fiona Johnstone

Hello everyone

Back again with some more Totally Rad collection. The colours in this collection are just fab and I have created a background to co-ordinate with them in my layout of my puppy Harry:

Totally Cute

To create my background I have applied clear gesso to my white cardstock then used Dylusions ink and water to create a light watercolour background . Once this dried off I have added some stamping before layering my papers. For some added layers I have added a transparency under the paper layers.

The words that come in the ephemera pack are perfect to use for titles and I have combined this one with some thickers.

With a busy background I have kept my embellishments to a minimum with some ephemera, flair and an enamel heart.

Thanks for stopping by
till next week

Kaisercraft Sea Breeze - Love This Layout by Rachel Lowe:

Hello everyone, this week I have a layout to share created using the fab collection Sea Breeze by Kaisercraft. I just love the wood grains, turquoise and mint greens with a mix of black and brown contrasts.

I do tend to use white as my base paper in layouts but this wood grain just had to be used with its weathered look.

I adore photos that are not poised and this shot of me with my four children walking hand
in hand in a field at dusk is one of my all time favourites.

Firstly I splattered the wood grain base paper with mint colour shine.

I then painted the 2crafty chipboard butterfly in white and when dried I sprayed lightly
over it in the mint green colour shine so it would tie in with my background.

I cut a diagonal corner and half inch strip from Refresh paper. I then sewed them down.

From the die cut pack I chose a sentiment that would go with my photo and sewed that
down over the already sewn corner.

I have then layered under my photo starting with the darkest green paper to the lightest mint
green. I have also sewn in a random fashion on these paper pieces. Usually I don't ink with
pine cone but felt it suited this more rustic layout.

I always cut off the border strips from each sheet of paper before I start my layouts, most
these days have some form of pattern on them that can be used on your layout. You will see
the heart strip that has been sewn on is from a border strip (you can use these as a form
of washi tape).

Sewing will add extra texture and interest to your layout.

I foam taped the heart sticker over lapping on my photo and then attached the 'smile'
die cut sentiment over the lower right of my photo.

I attached three small heart sticker to my bottom border strip with foam tape.

To finish this layout I then foam taped the already altered 2Crafty chipboard butterfly to my page.

I think this colour combination is just so classy and I am happy with the way this collection
really shows off my photo wonderfully.

Thank you for stopping by today and see you next week with more inspiration from this
gorgeous range.

Stay safe, stay warm and find some 'me' time to scrap.

Project Life - another week done!

I'm back!!

So I unexpectedly got another week of my Project Life done so thought I'd share it with you.

I truly love this Project.
Of all the creative commitments I have, the first one to get pushed back, when life gets busy is this.  And do you know what?  I don't know why.
When I look back on my projects, this one totally has my heart.  It's the one that evokes the most emotion, the one that brings the memories flooding back, the one that highlights the most change that occurs around here.

My layouts are my real creative outlet, where I often get messy and experiment.
However, this project is about getting it done.  Not overthinking it, just print, stick and write.
So maybe it seems the easiest to put off.
Last year I put it off, and got over 20 weeks behind.  Aaargh!
I nearly gave up.
I nearly stopped.
But then I looked back at what I had done, and I was reminded of how wonderful this project is.
Of how it truly captures our real, everyday life.
I pulled a lot of late nights, to get caught up.
I'm so glad I did.

This year, so far, I am almost up to date.
Four weeks behind is nearly up to date right?
This year I'm determined not to fall behind again, and so I have a different tact.
I create with the leftovers from my layouts.
I leave it all on my desk and I just go for it!
As they are all leftovers, they all coordinate.
I cut them into 4x6 and 3x4 shapes.  Simple as that!
It really is making it easier.

Here's a few close ups of the left side:

 And the right side:

Often I add in a few extra photos by creating a flap with washi tape.
It's usually when I want to tell a story and need more than one photo, but I don't want it to take up any more pockets.

Yay!
Another week done and dusted.
Love it!

My Loves
by Tammy Klingner

Good morning everyone.

With Mothers Day coming this Sunday, I thought it was a perfect time to scrap a layout
of my biggest loves and me!
I used a few papers from Crate Paper's Hello Love range.
I love the freshness and simplicity of this range.

I began with my white background and then added some soft watercolour to the background.
I added a strip of paper down the side - I absolutely love that hand drawn heart paper.
I then began layering a few of the tags I cut from one of their papers.
I love how companies make these papers, as I've explained before I cut them all out, and then begin tucking them behind my photo.

I decided to stick with just coral, red, black and white with a teeny splash of gold.
I painted a 2Crafty Chipboard border word in black, and added this to the  edge of the strip of paper.
Those little hearts scattered on the page are simply cut from the hand drawn heart paper.

I love the simple colour combo, and those little gold hearts from the range (adore these!) just give that simple lift to the layout.

To all the mums out there, have a lovely mothers day - I hope you get to enjoy some time with your precious babies, no matter how old they are!!
For anyone who feels a little sadness on this day, for whatever reason, big hugs. You are not alone.
I will be lighting a candle for my beautiful mum, and celebrating her amazing spirit.

Love Tam

Crate Paper Wonder - Brave by Fiona Johnstone

Hello everyone

Happy Star Wars day :)

I did a bit of a scrap tidy up and found a bunch of papers and embellishments leftover from late last year! It was super exciting as I love this collection and I quickly found some perfect photos to create a layout to share with you all today:

Brave

I love the funky geometric prints in this collection and decided to use lots of angles with my patterned papers in my design to stay on theme. I love how the pink softens the bold colours.

I've used a bunch of the chipboard embellishments in the collection to make a cute little cluster.

and the title is 2Crafty of course, one I requested specifically for the page. I have sprayed it in two different ColorShine sprays to create the right tone of colour .

I've finished off the page with some enamel dots and the adorable puffy sticker "love this".

Thanks for stopping by
Till next week

Fiona

Bella BLVD - Perfectly Precious layout by Rachel Lowe:

Happy Monday everyone.

Today I am sharing a layout created using the oh so gorgeous Sweet Baby Girl collection by Bella BLVD (there is also a boy collection too which is as equally cute).

I pulled my children's photo albums out to find the 'right' photos and reflected how quickly the baby years go and I wish I had taken more photos than I did.

This photo is of my daughter blissfully asleep at her Christening, I had to covert it to black and white as the background was a dark grape colour but I think a black and white photo contrasted beautifully against the pink.

I set about to create a 'sky' with the sleeping moon. I cut from the border strip paper 'perfectly precious' and attached this under the cloud paper (just a wink paper).  I then hand cut a paper fringe border strip (I just love paper fringes as they are so pretty) and finished off by sewing to add extra layers/texture. Finally I hand cut some clouds and used foam tape to attach to my created sky.

I matted my photo on the heart paper and then attached with foam tape.

I then chose from the die cut pack the banners, clouds, heart and hippo (the hippo just too cute).

I then chose from the die cut pack the banners, clouds, heart and hippo (the hippo just too cute).

I then painted my 2Crafty chipboard title Gorgeous in white and attached under my photo.

Finally I added a 3/4 inch strip along the bottom of my page.

You will note I have sewn around my matt, at the top of the banners and the bottom page strip.

This collection would also be ideal to create a baby album.

Don't forget to check out the Sweet Baby Boy collection.

Thank you for stopping by for a look and I will have more paper creations
using this collection in the next few weeks.
