Last Birthday Bisque & Something Blue creations - By Linda Eggleton

Hello everyone...welcome to the blog & happy Friday to you all :)

I am back to share one more layout & a couple of cards before this month draws to a close.
My layout is again using the fabulous & fun Jillibean Soup Birthday Bisque, and this time I've gone for a bit of grunginess on this bright & cheery collection

"Churning the Roost"

I started off with some template work & modelling paste on the bright orange background paper...then added some random stamping using 2 Kaisercraft stamps - Checker Plate & Chevrons, then layered up a few layers of different papers, stickers, lots of different 2Crafty chipboard pieces...as well as some JBS Sprinkles & Nickels.

Photos are of my DS in a recent motocross/amcross race where he is spitting dirt out everywhere (otherwise known as "Roost")

Here's a few close ups....

I've grouped a few handcut chevrons and cut them into different sizes, just so that they didn't look too uniform :)  And the stickers gained a bit of a worn/wrinkled look from moving them around so many times...lol  But I quite like the look & it fits in with the grungy feel to the page.

I've used quite a few pieces of 2Crafty over the page....some are only tiny off-cuts that I've kept over the years, and for these pieces, they are placed at the edge of the papers with just a tiny bit tucked in behind & it gives a great layered effect.  I've also clustered some more 2Crafty with some JBS Sprinkles & sticker from the Labels sticker sheet.

And again, another cluster of 2Crafty, JBS Sprinkles & Nickel that I've added some JBS tiny alpha stickers to, to change the wording to suit the layout.  I've also used a 2Crafty circle revolution frame to frame one of the photos.  All the chipboard pieces have been coloured with Gelatos.

Now for a couple of cards using the stunning

"Mister & Missis"

These papers are just so beautiful to work with....everything I've created with them this month, just seemed to fall into place & creating with them has been such a breeze & a joy too.

I've layered a few different papers, inking & distressing the edges, then topped them off with a stunning 2Crafty Georgian Frame that I've lighly inked in black then randomly swiped with a bit of gesso...and also a few collectables pieces, the top one that was originally white until I coloured it with a blue Gelato, and also added a few clustered flowers & punched leaves.  Then to finish it off, I added a few small strips of Kaisercraft rhinestones.

I think it all makes a really gorgeous card - now I need a wedding to come up
so that I can give it to someone! lol

Here's a couple of close ups...

And the next card is a lot plainer....

"Thank You"

Again, a few simple layers of varying papers, topped with a piece of velvet style ribbon, a few collectables, KC pearls & rhinestones and some tiny alpha stickers.
A simple, yet effective card :)

This one is already on its way overseas....to Northern Ireland, along with a gift,
to a man who has been so helpful to me & my family in
getting a few family matters finalised.

So because it was for a male, that was the reason I left the card with no flowers etc on it.

Well, that is it from me for another week....and month.
I hope you have been inspired by these 2 gorgeous collections :)

Thanks so much for visiting today.
Until next time....happy scrapping!

More MME Market Street "Nob Hill" by Fiona Johnstone

Hello everyone

My last share for this month and I have created two layouts using the My Minds
Eye Market Street Nob Hill collection. Such a versatile range!
My first share of the month was a boy layout, now I have a girl page and a
 pet page using the range.

First up is my layout Seriously of Miss Lily at rollerskating last school holidays. This is her pose for the camera, after she had a stack, rather than just hopping back up again. It is pretty funny that she will pose on without being prompted!

For this layout I have created some background detail to the plain gradient green paper. I have used the new memory box templates in store and some texture paste, then once that was dry I have sprayed with glimmer mist and let the drips run down the page.

A couple of close-ups:

I love these wonderful phrase Thickers by Amy Tan, lots of cool phrases! You can also see the detail of the misting and mist drips.

Detail of the masking using the new Memory Box Designer Stencils with some texture paste. Then I have sprayed over with glimmermist.  This lovely heart is also from the cool phrases pack and the shine button from the MME Market Street Nobs Hill range.

I have used this cute little journaling card and tucked it under my papers, love the cute little hearts along the top. Also a couple of enamel dots to finish off the page.

And my second share today is this layout about our puppy, Harry.  This layout is in my cleaner style, utilising the patterned papers in the range as well as the mixed bag of embellishments, sticker sheet and flair badges.

A couple of close-ups. This one of my title, the flair badge, and a couple of the mixed bag embellishments - the gold circle and the doily, which I have halved and used here and also at the top of the layout.

The top portion of the layout, with the other half of the doily and a phrase from the mixed bag of embellishments.

And finishing with the right hand side of the layout with the big bow from the mixed bag, green heart from the sticker sheet, and the gold heart and circle heart also from the mixed bag. The cute resin flower is from Crate Paper.

Thanks for stopping by

Till next time
Fiona

More Jillibean Soup "Birthday Bisque" - by Linda Eggleton

Hello everyone & welcome :)

Today I have 2 more layouts to share using the super fun Jillibean Soup "Birthday Bisque" collection....which is filled with lots of cheery bright colours & they are so much fun to work with!

PLUS, my 2 layouts are not birthday based at all...so once again, this is another range of
papers that is very versatile & quite suitable for any themed layout :)

First up

"Coota Haycarters"
My layout is based on the 1st June Stuck sketch

I have used the reverse side of the "Bunch of Balloons" paper for my background with
some textured stencilling & a bit of random grungy stamping with Kaisercraft "Numbers"
stamp thrown in too.  I've used lots of the JBS Wooden Nickels & Wood Sprinkles mixed with
some 2Crafty chipboard & some wood veneers all over my page.....and you might note,
there is not a flower in sight! lol

Pics are of my DH with his bike at his very first cycling race at a town called Cootamundra
 - or Coota as we call it, and the race is known as "The Haycarters" - no idea where that
stems from.

Here are a few close ups....

Here I've cut one of the chevrons from the Smiden of Sweets paper, clustered with a few hand cut circles plus a sticker & Wooden Nickel...with a bit of the background work in underneath.

Some more of the hand cut chevrons that are up on 3d foam tape
with more Wooden Nickels & veneer arrow

2Crafty chipboard arrow coloured with red acrylic paint...and some strip journaling....with a few stickers from the Labels Sticker sheet along the side of my paper layers.

Another cluster of Nickels & Sprinkles...with 2Crafty lightbulb &
scalloped circle frame plus a SC veneer arrow & circle frame.
They have all been coloured with gelatos & the lightbulb is inked in black.

And another 2Crafty arrow down the other side of the photos.

After working out where the main paper area of the page would be, I then used modelling paste with a Teresa Collins stencil to go around the outer edges of this area.  Once it was dry, I then randomly stamped with KC Numbers stamp & jet black archival ink.

Next up is another bright fun page, this time about some fun times at the park
when my DD was a little tike...a non digital photo that just seemed to jump out at me to use with these papers :)

"Fun Times"
This one is based on sketch #271 at Creative Scrappers.

Again, some stencilling with modelling paste on my background page, this time with some added splashes of Glimmermists....and I've added my journaling around the edges of 2 sides of the page.

The stencil is Tim Holtz Layering Stencil - Hearts, and is a great sized stencil for working on smaller areas around your page :)

I've clustered a few Green Tara flowers with a 2Crafty Butterfly Frame
& another of the JBS Wooden Nickels.

The title is by 2Crafty...and I've simply coated it in gesso & then coloured it with a red gelato.
I've also used a few scrap pieces of leftover JBS Lattice Placemat and
placed them at the sides of the photo.

Here is a bit of a close up of the stencil work...along with a few stickers poking out here & there, along with a small JBS Wood Sprinkle

And another little cluster of Green Tara flowers & JBS Wooden Nickel.

So there you have another 2 layouts using this fun, gorgeous collection.
I hope you have been inspired :)

Thanks so much for dropping by today  xx

More Kaisercraft Dream Big - by Fiona Johnstone

Hello everyone

I'm back with some more of the gorgeous Kaisercraft Dream Big collection today. Just the one layout today, using some of the Dream Big specialty papers - Be Happy & Today, along with leftover papers from my previous shares and of course the abundant embellishments in the collectables pack.

Today's layout is "So You"

The base is the specialty paper "Be Happy" and I've cut up the "Today" specialty paper to make separate doilies which I have tucked under opposite corners of my photo, before layering leftover papers from the collection I used at the beginning of the month.

A close up of my title, using a 2Crafty chipboard word "you" and some mini market stickers, some word phrases and camera from the collectables pack, finishing off with a new flutterby flair - perfect!

On this side of my page, I have created a cluster with lots of lovely Green Tara flowers and a few Prima as well, finished off with the gorgeous avery vines from 2Crafty.

I often hide my journaling on my layouts, by utilising the journaling spots in the collectables pack and then just tucking them in. A little bit of story to find later on:

Thank you for stopping by, hope I have inspired you with this gorgeous collection this month, it really has been one of my favourite Kaisercraft collections to date!

Till next week

Kaisercraft "Something Blue" - by Linda Eggleton

Good morning everyone & welcome :)

This month I am lucky enough to be creating with yet another gorgeous Kaisercraft range -
the newly released Something Blue Collection

This is a perfect collection for wedding photos - as it was designed & intended.
The diecuts in the collectables pack are amazing, as always....full of little tags, tabs, doilies, hearts, love/wedding verses of all shapes & sizes, and more....all perfect for your wedding pages
& also for wedding cards.

So first up, that's what I have created...a wedding layout of my DH & I on our
wedding day, some 27 years ago!

"Mr & Mrs"

For me, the papers & photos that I'm working with usually determine the style of layout
that I will create with it....and this collection called for a more formal layout with clean straight lines.
I left the background as is for this page, as the paper is utterfly gorgeous and truly shines on its own.

I've clustered a few Green Tara & Kaisercraft flowers with some 2Crafty Indian Feathers
along with a few of the diecuts from the collectables pack.
The 2Crafty feathers have been lightly coated in gesso only.

Keep Calm & Say I do!
I just love that saying & had to use it on this page - it is from the Honeymoon paper
(see links at the bottom of my post)
I've also used a heap of little tabs from the Collectables pack in & around my paper layers.

A little bit of strip journaling with the basics of where/when & to break up all the straight lines I've punched a border strip in black from the reverse side of the Honeymoon paper.
More journaling is on the back of the layout.

And here is an overall view of the main area of the page - My gosh, we look so young!

Next up I've created a non-wedding page with the same collection.

"You & Me"
(based on the June sketch at Life.Paper.Scrapbook)

Again, lots of clean straight lines for this one....but I have added some subtle background work with some splashes of glimmermist here & there. (the textured background work is a bit hard to see)

This is one of the titles from the collectables pack that I've put onto foam tape to
give it some dimension on the page.

And a few more pieces from the collectables pack...a group of hearts that I've layered with foam tape & also the "extra special" banner.  And my usual strip journaling :)

I've tucked a few of the diecut tags at the side of my photo & a little tab at the top,
all from the collectables pack.  Pic is of my Dad & I having a night out for my last birthday :)

And here is a view of my cluster

Kaisercraft, Green Tara & Petaloo flowers, collectables diecuts, a Flutterby flair & some diecut leaves using my cuttlebug.

The background work is rather soft on the page, so it's a bit hard to see....hopefully you can get an idea of it here in this close up.  I mixed some gelato shavings in with my modelling paste & after working out where my papers were going to go, I randomly spread the modelling paste over the Teresa Collins stencil & finished it off with some splashes of glimmermist.

I love the colours on this page...that tan colour just seems to really lift
everything on the page perfectly <3

Well, that is all from me for today...thank you so much for visiting & any comments you may leave.
Until next time...have a great weekend & happy scrapping! xx

My Minds Eye Market Street "Nob Hill" - by Fiona Johnstone

Hello everyone

Well it is certainly starting to feel like winter here, perfect weather for scrapping!
This week I am playing with the stunning Market Street Nob Hill collection
 by My Minds Eye.

I've gone with a mixed media background on some smooth white cardstock to
create todays layout: Be Happy

For my background I have used a mix of Dylusions and Color Shine sprays
and then added some masking with texture paste and inks.

Here is a close up that shows some of the background details, including my title
that has been created using the Teresa Collins mask and Color Shine spray, which
I have dabbed on with a sponge finger dauber.

The 2Crafty chipboard chevron bits have been inked then given a spray of
Goosebumps Texture spray in shimmer, love the finish.

A close-up of the cluster of embellishments that are all part of the range, the big
badge from the Flair Pins pack and the lovely mix of ephemera are all in the
 mixed bag set.

I've finished off the page with some enamel dots from the collection, these
are in a great mix of sizes and colours!!

This is a super fun range to work with, be sure to check it out in store and I hope
I have inspired you to play with it!

Till next week
Fiona
