Happy Heart with Pinkfresh Studios Everyday Musing by Fiona Johnstone

Hello everyone

Back this week to share a class page I taught for the May crop at All About Scrapbooks using the amazing Pinkfresh Studios Everyday Musings Collection:

Happy Heart

For this layout I wanted a white background, so have used some white cardstock then added some paint sploshes with Dylusions Paints before mounting onto the mauve background paper to give some extra colour.

Then I have layered several of the different patterned papers up before delving in to the gold puffy stickers to add some fun shapes between the layers

I've finished the layout with some pink azaleas and leaves by Green Tara and my title from the puffy stickers.

Thanks for stopping by
Till next week

Mummy's Boy using Simple Stories Spring Farmhouse By Kerryn Fry

Good morning everyone!
Today I have created another page using the pretty collection
Simple Stories Spring Farmhouse
The photo has come from the archives, right back to 2005.
The day was our very first pageant
and as you see, our boy was a little overwhelmed by it all.

The base is Kraft Cardstock, I've left that background plain for this page.
The soft pastel colours in the collection have been left to tell the story.
The patterned papers have been layered in the bottom half of the page
and I've die cut two doilies from patterned paper and black cardstock.
These have been layered together
and then tucked under the top left hand corner of the photo.
I've used more black cardstock as a strip across the page.

I have hand cut all of the embellishments from the patterned papers.
Simple Stories collection are perfect for this.
The flowers were the main elements used on the page,
these have been added with foam tape for an extra layer.
The 2x2 and 3x4 Element sheets were used for the other elements,
including the words.

The bird cluster has been created with small pieces from different 2x2 elements.
I've used foam tape to give them some dimension.

The tag and heart have been cut out from the 3x4 Element paper
and I have then added the words from a 2x2 element piece.
The words have been given dimension with more foam tape.

The journal spot has been cut from the 2x2 element sheet,
I kept it flat and then decorated with more hand cut flowers.

The 2 Crafty title has been covered with Distress Archival Black Ink.
I've added foam tape to lift the title off the page
and used a hand cut embellishment to highlight the 'o'.

That's all for this week.
Have a great weekend, hope you get to enjoy some craft time.
Please join us again on Monday for Fiona's next project.

"Love this view", by Amanda Hartmann

Hi AAS fans,

I have done some travel in the past couple of years - so I have lots of photos to scrap.
It means I am always looking for travel ranges to scrap with.
The new Simple Stories - Simple Vintage Traveller collection is perfect!

In the collection, there is a pack of Simple Basics papers - they are amazing base papers, with no real patterns but in great colours for the collection. I bought this pack and used the papers as the back border and to mount the photo. I also used strips of the orange paper to hold my journaling.

The hero of this page, is the patterned paper -Explore & Discover - with an amazing design which means you need very little other paper.

To finish the page, I used some 2 Crafty chipboard Harlequin Clumps and stickers from the Simple Stories sticker sheet. Also I used more of my 49 & Market wishing bubbles.

Please enjoy these close ups to see some of the details.

I layered the 2Crafty chipboard under the photo edges and under some stickers. I used Distress Oxide Ink: in Faded Jeans to add the first colour to the chipboard, before colouring darker with Colour Blast Shimmer Dust in Navy. I added a few layers to get the colour right. I also included splatters of the Distress oxide Ink to the background.

I loved the layers of stickers and wishing bubbles with the chipboard. The colours and stickers were a great match for this photo from the top of Mount Saint Peter in The Netherlands!

Thanks for looking today,
Amanda

Best Memories with Carta Bella Let's Travel by Fiona Johnstone

Hello everyone

This week I have a holiday layout, using the Carta Bella Let's Travel papers and Celebr8 Matt Board.

Best Memories

I love the light blue background paper, looks like little waves. I've mounted this onto some dark blue cardstock to make it pop.

Next I have used some of the red and blue papers to create my layers.
The new Celebr8 Matt Board is easy to use, just like chipboard. I've inked and painted my pieces to co-ordinate with my layout.

I've dug into my stash to find some co-ordinating pieces to finish off my page using some older travel collections and some Say Cheese embellishments.
Thanks for stopping by
Till next week

A Star is Born
using Simple Stories Say Cheese 4
by Kerryn Fry

Hi everyone!
Today's page has been created using
You really can't go wrong with the primary colours
and the patterns in the papers were easy to adapt to suit the photos.
I did change the photos to B&W to suit.
Mr, now 15, at his school sports day.
He came second, just got pipped at the post by the last throw.
Very proud of him.

The page started with a Kraft Cardstock base.
I have added some interest to the background using Distress Inks
in Wild Honey, Chipped Sapphire and Black Soot.
Then I have selected three different stencils,
Kaisercraft Dotted Lines & Starburst and the Crafter's Workshop Template Diamonds.
I've randomly highlighted some of the diamonds with a white gel pen.

The Cardstock Stickers were great to embellish the page.
I have adhered some of the stickers to Black Cardstock
for better definition and then used foam tape for some added dimension.

The 'fireworks' have been hand cut from the paper Fun This Way.
I've cut the journal spot from the 4x4 Elements paper
and most pieces have been mounted on foam tape.
The word stickers are from the Cardstock Sticker Sheet
and work well with the sport theme.

The small black diamonds have been fussy cut from patterned paper
Fun This Way and then added to the page with foam tape.
The Black Cardstock was also used for the trim above the photos.

The 2 Crafty title A Star is Born has been given a few coats
of Distress Paint Black Soot.
Once the chipboard was completely dry,
I have outlined the title using a white gel pen
and faux stitching, to allow it to pop.

And that's a wrap!
Thanks for visiting the blog today.
and happy crafting for the weekend.
Pop back again on Monday for Fiona's next project.

Fish and Chips, by Amanda Hartmann

Hi all!
Who doesn't love Fish & Chips shared with friends?
This is what I am scrapping today, and I have combined the fun bright
Jillibean Soup Rainbow Roux collection with black accents for this page.

I started with the grey tones of the Drop of Fantasy paper as my base.
Then I used the bright Pinch of Colour paper. To break it up I layered it on a matte of both yellow and black cardstock. I repeated these papers to matte my 2 photos also.

For the embellishments, I used tags cut from the Bite sized bits paper, and stickers from the Label stickers pack. I inked the edges of the stickers and tags black and added foam tape for some dimension.

Here are some close ups:

I used the black lettering from the Label stickers pack to add the title.

All the small stickers and sticker strips add such fun detail to the page!

And yes, I even used my old eyelet setter to add black eyelets to the tags!

A fun page to remember a fun day with friends.

Thanks for looking today!

I (Heart) Summer with Simple Stories Sunshine & Blue Skies by Fiona Johnstone

Hello everyone

Back again with another layout using the Simple Stories Sunshine & Blue Skies collection.

I 💗 Summer
Again I have used a woodgrain paper from another range - I love the woodgrain
 for summer pages!!
It gives me the neutral background without being as plain as cardstock.

I've used the florals, peaches and navy tones of this collection for this layout,
love how well they work together and with my photo.

Again I have used the Ephemera from the collection and some word stickers
 from another Simple Stories collection:

And the final touch being these beautiful flowers from 49 & Market.

Thanks for stopping by
Till next week

Those Eyes using My Minds Eye Happy Days by Kerryn Fry

Hello everyone!
Today I am sharing the 4th and final page created using
My Minds Eye Happy Days
I have used almost every piece of this collection
and I just love the result against the black cardstock.
The photo is one of my Great-Nieces
showing off her baby blues.

A different start for this page, Black cardstock is the star
and I love how the colours stand out even more.
I've layered the patterned papers under the photo
which has been matted with Black Cardstock for definition.
Most of the embellishments have been hand-cut from the remaining papers.

Glad Garden and Ice Cream Dreams papers provided the houses
and flowers to embellish the page.
I've used foam tape to lift these elements
and layer them across the page.
The word 'Hi' is from the Ephemera Pack
and have hand drawn a faux stitch line with a white pen.

The 2 Crafty Anthea's Butterflies have been covered
with Distress Paints first, then swiped with gold ink.
Once dry, I have sealed with Dimensional Magic for a gloss finish.

The 2 Crafty Addy's Butterflies were painted with
2 colours to coordinate with the papers
and then sat on top of the Anthea Butterflies as a second layer.

The 2 Crafty title Those Eyes was painted black
and once dry, stamped with a script stamp and gold ink.
The title was also sealed with Dimensional Magic for a glossy finish.

Thanks for visiting the blog today.
I hope you have enjoyed this collection as much as I have.
Have a great weekend with plenty of crafting.
