Jump for joy, by Amanda H

Hello AAS fans!

Sharing this page of my daughter - such a happy joyful photo... and it was perfect to team some blues with neutrals!

I started with some Kaisercraft wood grain paper from the Memory Lane collection and ripped it in half, for the top section of the page.

Next I grabbed some Kraft cardstock and for interest, I decided to add some stencil work. Using the new Kaisercraft Grunge stencil, I added Colour Blast - Colour Paste in Snow White.  The Snow white paste dries clear and sparkly and adds a subtle effect on the Kraft background.

Look at the cool texture in this close up!

You will also notice I added some blue splatters, using Colour Blast Shimmer Spray in Just Blue.

You can also see I added a 2 Crafty butterfly here - I inked it blue, sprayed it with Colour Blast Shimmer Spray in Just Blue and then coated with Dimensional magic.

For the title, I combined Thickers, with some Webster letters.
Also here, I used a grey arrow and heart sticker, both from the More Than Words collection.

More stickers from CVS in this bottom left corner cluster, also adding "Go Abby" in Webster letters.
I included a Kaisercraft Paper Bloom in black, but I painted the edges with Colour Blast Shimmer Spray in Just Blue
Lastly I found the cute blue spotty Bella Blvd clip in my stash and the colour was perfect!

Thanks for looking today!

Choose Happy with Simple Stories Good Vibes by Fiona Johnstone

Hello everyone

This week I've got the very pretty Good Vibes collection from Simple Stories to play with. Love the black with the bright colours, a fun collection!

Choose Happy

The base for my layout is almost ready to go with this paper - Be Amazing. It already has the floral pattern in the corner and a cool design.

I have added a little colour with Dylusions and Distress Ink. I've used lots of paper layers on this page, behind my photo and added some texture by distressing the edges.

The Sticker Sheet with this collection has a fab variety of words and images to make embellishing a breeze! I've finished off my layout with a painted 2Crafty Title and added some paint sploshes in black that tie in with the pre-printed sploshes on the background paper.

Thanks for stopping by
Till next week

Loving These Moments using Echo Park Paper Co by Kerryn Fry

Good morning everyone.
Today I've created a second page using
Echo Park Paper Co Happy Birthday Boy.
This time it was not quite used for the intended purpose,
but it does involve cake.
Mr then 5, enjoying a cupcake.
But from memory, I'm pretty sure he only ate the icing.

I've started with a plain piece of Kraft cardstock.
Then I've laid out the patterned papers
and cut strips from different papers, coordinating the colours and patterns.
I've then built layers under the photos, matted the photos with black cardstock and
then lifted the photos with cardboard.

The 2 Crafty Stars have been covered with patterned papers
and the frames have been painted with Black Soot Distress Paint.
I've hand cut some cupcakes from the papers and
added stickers from the Element Sticker Sheet.

I have matted some of the stickers used with black cardstock
to help them pop above the patterned papers.
Most have the embellishments have been given dimension with foam tape.

The 2 Crafty title Loving These Moments has been painted with Black Soot.
I have used a black gel pen to add faux stitching on the page.
I have used black as an accessory on the page
to balance with the beautiful, bright colours.
The subtitle has been cut from the 3x4 Journaling card.

A simple page this week with a burst of colour.
Thanks for visiting the blog today.
Fiona will be back on Monday to share her next project,
I hope you can join us.

"Gorgeous", by Amanda H

Hello all and welcome to July!

Today I share some sweet-prettiness using one of the new collections from Prima - the Havana Collection. And this super cute photo of my daughter and niece seemed perfect!
 Look at those sweet faces!

I used both sides of the lovely "Chirping New" paper - one for the base and one for a panel.
I also added a backing of the "PS I love You" paper.

With different panels and combinations, I pulled these papers together as the backdrop to my page with some distressed edges and machine stitching.

I was a bit tricky with the photos - I used packaging from the sticker pack to mount them! Prima always has such nice packaging; I never want to throw it away and in this instance it was perfect behind the photos!

What I hope you can see in these photos - the beautiful copper foil tones in all these papers. It really is divine.

There is an interesting paper in the range - Love from Havana - which has different elements on it. I was able to fussy cut the pink ticket, and circle punch a couple of elements, including the "dream" circle seen in this close up.

I also added some flourishes from the 2Crafty Leafy Shrub set, inked mint to match.

Also here you can see some of the stunning little flowers from the Havana Mirana Mulberry pack

For the title I used the word "gorgeous" from the 2 Crafty Fine Word set. inked pink and layered on some white muslin. Added a circle punched from paper and more flowers, as well as sticker from the Rose Stickers pack.

In this corner is another flourish from the 2Crafty Leafy Shrub set, another flower, muslin and sticker. OH! please note those sweet little duck lips! ha ha ha!

In the top right corner, I added more stickers, including a journaling spot with a flower and small piece of muslin.
Thanks for looking today!

Summer Lovin' with Simple Stories Hello Summer by Fiona Johnstone

Hello Everyone

The start of a new month - can you believe we are half way through the year now?

This week I have the Simple Stories Hello Summer collection to create with. I am reliving some summer memories while it is cold outside!

Summer Lovin'

For this layout I had the design in mind based on my photos and using the journaling card as a title. the floral paper gave me both a light background and the colours to match my photos, adding some coral strips to add a bit more pink to the page and break up the white cardstock.

The sun and cloud were the perfect little embellishment to add the feeling of a beach scene to my layout.

A close-up of my ink splatters - a little extra colour to the page, taken from the turquoise flowers and finishing with the sticker chillin.

Thanks for stopping by
till next week

It's the Simple Things using Echo Park Paper Co Wish Upon A Star by Kerryn Fry

Good morning all.
Hope you are keeping nice and warm.
Today I'm back to share my second page using the fabulous collection,
Echo Park Paper Co Wish Upon A Star.
I'm sharing the limelight with Mr 14 at the Tour Down Under back in 2013.
Started with plain Black cardstock for this page,
but I've flipped to the smooth reverse side
and just let the patterned papers and photos shine.
I love how crisp the primary colours appear on the black.
It helped that Mr 14 was wearing a black t-shirt as well.

The patterned papers have been layered first.
The embellishments have been hand cut from the papers
or are sitckers from the Element Sticker Sheet
I have added a some faux stitching with a black pen
and a few white borders with a Sharpie Pen

Some of the stickers have been matted with black cardstock
and raised with foam tape.
Love the row of stars from the sticker sheet.
The 'smile' letter have been hand cut from the Border Strips.

The 2 Crafty title It's the Simple Things was given a base coat of gesso
and then painted with Mustard Seed Distress Paint.

The 2 Crafty Stars have been painted with Candied Apple Distress Paint
and then doodled with the Sharpie Pen
The camera and small stars are from the sticker sheet,
they have been popped up with foam tape.

That's my page for today.
Thank you for visiting the blog today.
I hope you have a lovely weekend,
please remember to drop by Monday for Fiona's next project.

Mother & Daughter using Echo Park Paper Co Wish Upon A Star by Kerryn Fry

Good Morning everyone.
Today I am sharing my first page creating with the collection,
Echo Park Paper Wish Upon A Star.
I just love the primary colours!
The photo is of my Mum and my big sister taken in Sydney 2015,
a girls weekend away celebrating my sister's 50th.
This page started with a slight variation of my usual base cardstock,
I think this one is called Dark Kraft.
The colour in the background was the finishing touches added to the page at the end.
I have used the 6x6 Crafters Workshop Template Tiny Circles,
one of my favourites, with Distress Paint and a sponge.
I have built up the layers on this page with plenty of scrap cardboard
and a little foam tape under some embellishments.
Most pieces have been cut from the patterned papers

The sun's rays have been cut from patterned paper
and then a border doodled with black pen.
I have then decorated the smallest of the 2 Crafty Dianne's Doily
with Distress Paint and fussy cut a button for the centre piece.

You can see the dimension that has been created with cardboard under each layer
and to lift the different embellishments.
The houses and picture frame have been cut from the Journaling Cards.

The 2 Crafty title Mother & Daughter has been slightly renovated.
To suit the page, I have cut to title into two pieces.
The chipboard was given a light coat of gesso first.
Once dry, I have covered with Distress Paint Timbled Glass and
then finished with a coat of Dimensional Magic

I've used the title to frame the black & white photo and
the photo has been matted with black cardstock.
I have added faux stitching with a black gel pen on a few different pieces

That's my page for today, I hope you have been inspired.
Thank you for dropping in.
I'll be back on Friday to share my second page.

Alice in Wonderland with Echo Park by Fiona Johnstone

Hello everyone

Ending the month with my final layout using the fun Alice in Wonderland collection
by Echo Park.

Alice in Wonderland
This blue and white striped paper is so striking, and the perfect background for my photo of Alice and the Mad Hatter with their blue outfits. I decided to tear the paper for texture and break up the blue with some plain white cardstock and a little strip of the yellow floral paper, also torn for texture.
A doily provides some texture and a plain background for the busy flower stickers.

How cute are the teapot and tea cup stickers?

Fabulous embellishments from the chipboard stickers and elements stickers are the perfect embellishment and also make for an easy title. The enamel dots add the finishing touch.

 Thanks for stopping by
Till next week
