7Dots Studio "Destination Unknown" & Kaisercraft "All that Glitters" by Linda Eggleton

Hello everyone....welcome to the blog today.

I am back to share some more 7Dots Studio goodness, but this time I have a layout using the wonderful "Destination Unknown" collection.
It is full of beautiful teals, greys & browns & I think would suit any theme of layout.  I have gone with a bit of a vintage style, using an old family photo that I was recently given :)

"Sowing New Soil"

I started off with the reverse, teal side of the Celestial paper & trimmed it down slightly & then backed it with the reverse side of the Journey paper....but before doing so, I cut out the centre of this piece for future use.  I then added a bit of textured stencil work using a Memory Box stencil - Scraped Paint with some modelling paste, and then finished off with a bit of random stamping using Darkroom Door stamp - Scratches

Here I've used some more of the amazing new flowers from Petaloo - Burlap Sunflower & Pointettia...mixed in with some smaller Petaloo flowers, some diecut leaves & another of the beautiful Wild Butterflies from Petaloo also.

I used a variety of papers cut into different sized strips - both width & length....some punched, some diecut & all of them with stressed edges....and I played around with them until I was happy with the look before sticking them down.

I've used a couple of pieces of the stunning 2Crafty Bubble Clumps, diagonally at opposite sides of the photo area, making sure that not too much of the pieces are wasted in behind the layers of paper - this stuff is too good to have it hidden in behind bits where it's not going to be seen!!

Here is the other piece of 2Crafty Bubble Clumps.  I left them raw & then simply rubbed some gesso randomly over the pieces with my fingers.

I have used the scrabble letters from the "Thoughts Keeper" range for part of my title....again cutting them down so they were a smaller size, distressing the edges & then mounting them on a lighter piece of PP to help give them better definition on the page.

Here is another view of the cluster area....which includes a fabulous Flutterby Flair

And a close up view of the main area of the page.

Not a lot of journaling on the front of this page.....there is WAY too much to be able to fit on there.
It is all on the back of the page & tells the story about this amazing man, who was the first from my Dad's side of the family to come to Australia back in 1924.
His story for me is fascinating, inspiring and I am in total awe of him & his wife who waited & followed him to Australia 2 years later.

Next I have a couple of my DT projects using Kaisercraft's "All That Glitters".
This is such a beautiful & pretty collecton...lots of gold, glitter & foil!  It includes a few different specialty papers that are full of glitter, foil, butterflies & the like...they are totally gorgeous!

"Perfect Bridesmaids"

I have used the reverse side of the Radiate paper for my background, topped with both the pink & gold damask sides of the Twinkle paper...and the butterflies?  They are fussy cut from the amazing Golden Butterflies - Speciality Foil paper....the paper is absolutely FULL of them - so you will not run short of butterflies with this one!!

I have used one of the new Kaisercraft Decorative Dies - Berry Vine with the fabulous Gold Glitter - Specialty Glitter paper.  This die is one of my favourites....and I reckon it is going to get a LOT of use - I absolutely LOVE it :)))

Here's a bit of a close up of the fussy cut butterflies from the Golden Butterflies specialty paper....There is a mix of colours & each butterfly has some gold foil - very cool & gorgeous!

There's also a few Collectables pieces here too.

The title is made up of one of the Collectables pieces, and some Kaisercraft Alpha stickers in coral.
Just poking out of the cluster is a circle piece "Our Story" that is stamped using one of the stamps in the All That Glitters stamp set - I have stamped it with embossing ink & gold embossing powder.

And here is an overall view of the main area of the page, with some of the pretty KC blooms
(I was very limited on time & have not added any journaling as yet - it is on my list to add it though)

Kaisercraft products - Radiate P1778, Twinkle P1779, Golden Butterflies - Specialty Foil PS394, Gold Glitter - Specialty Glitter PS397, Paper Pad PP964, Collectables CT822,  Sticker sheet SS275, All That Glitters clear stamp set CS208, Captured Moments 3x4 Sparkle cards, Leaves Decorative Die DD312, Berry Vine Decorative Die DD522, Sage Paper Blooms F632, Fairy Floss Paper Blooms F640, Sage Mini Paper Blooms F649, Coconut Mini Paper Blooms F644, Coral Alpha Stickers AS256, Foam Tape T303

Other - Brad, Embossing powder & ink

"Nom Nom"

For this page I've used the Polka Dot Glitter specialty paper....I love how nice & thick these specialty papers are!  They make it perfect for adding any mixed media!  Although I haven't added any modelling paste etc, I did alter the colour of the paper, making it a soft pink
by colouring it with my Gelatos :)

A cute little cluster of paper blooms, diecut pieces from the Collectables pack & ANOTHER new decorative die - Leaves!  This one is a favourite too....I love adding die-cut leaves to my layouts!

More gold foil butterflies....from the Collectables pack & fussy cut from the
Golden Butterflies specialty paper.

I have also used some of the Sparkle Captured Moments cards in amongst my paper layers...with some Collectables pieces in there as well.

More Collectables pieces & stickers......

Some strip journaling & KC white alpha stickers for the title

Other - Gelatos

And lastly....a card

"You are Loved"

I have used one of the gold foil papers from the Paper Pad as the base of the card, then layered it using the Glow & Gloss papers - the Gloss paper (the pink one) I have embossed with the new KC Flourish Embossing folder....then I have given it a bit of a distressed look by rubbing the raised embossed bits with a sanding block.

I topped this with a few Collectables pieces, some KC stamped leaves onto the Gold Glitter specialty paper...and a few blooms & stamped butterfly.

Here you can see the gorgeous embossed flourishes!!  Aren't they gorgeous!

Kaisercraft All that Glitters by Fiona Johnstone

Hello everyone

Another new collection from Kaisercraft to share with you this week, the lovely All that Glitters collection, which features lots of gorgeous gold papers and embellishments.

My layout I am sharing with you today is titled Dream, a soft and beautiful photo of my daughter sleeping:

For the base of my layout today, I have chosen one of the papers that has a ready to go background, gorgeous butterflies and flowers adorn it as well as some gold spots along the sides. I've added a little complimenting stamping, a Prima butterfly stamp and some tiny dots from a Kaisercraft texture stamp. I've layered several of the papers, which are predominantly gold with some pinks, black and mint green - very pretty combination!

I have then embellished the layout with Kaisercrafts Collectibles pack of ephemera and their sticker sheet, adding some ink splashes, enamel dots, sequins and a paper doily.

I have finished off my layout with this gorgeous word from the Amy Tan Accent Word pack., which I have painted with some gold paint. My butterfly is from the collectibles pack and I added some gold glitter to it's wings.

Some of my stamping, a doily and a frame from the Collectibles packet:

and my last close-up, a cluster of embellishments from the stickers and collectibles pack, some washi from my stash and enamel dots & sequins. Lots of sparkle!

This is a beautiful collection, be sure to check it out in store.

Till next week
Fiona

7Dots Studio "Thoughts Keeper" & Kaisercraft "Wanderlust" by Linda Eggleton

Hi everyone & happy Friday!

This month I am lucky enough to be creating with a couple of 7Dots Studio collections!
I will be creating with both "Thoughts Keeper" & "Destination Unknown" ....and I can't wait to see what I come up with using them.

So far I have 1 layout to share....and it is using the beautiful
Thoughts Keeper collection.
This one has a mix of soft, almost pastel, yet they have a vintage feel to the papers.
They are quite unique!

So my first layout for the month is this one....

"Dundrod House"
Based on sketch #134 at Sketchabilities

It's probably not the type of  photo you'd expect to use on such a soft pretty collection, but I chose this one as I have only just been given a copy of this, which is the house where my Granny was born & grew up in Ireland...and I was itching to get it scrapped!  PLUS, I felt it suited the vintage side of these papers.

I have used the No. 5 paper for the background with some added stencil work with modelling paste.....and also a small amount of random stamping & some glimmermist that I have dabbed on with a scrunched up piece of clingwrap.

The cluster - I have to point out these GORGEOUS new flowers from Petaloo - the one I've used here is Textured Burlap - Wild Sunflowers in Ivory....but there are a heap of other styles & colours available too!!!  PLUS look at that gorgeous paper butterfly!!!  It is also a new one from Petaloo - I absolutely LOVE them!! You can see them all HERE in the AAS store - I reckon these are going to sell really quick!

There's also some more Petaloo & Green Tara flowers used, along with stickers from the Thoughts Keeper sticker sheet, some 2Crafty ATC butterflies & Bluebird...and some diecut leaves.

Here is a different angle of the cluster...and a bit of a better close up of that gorgeous Petaloo butterfly.  You can also see some more 2Crafty used here - the new & very versatile "Dotty Bits" which comes in a variety of combinations of strips of these joined dotty bits....they are WAY cool!

Here is another smaller cluster....Green Tara & Petaloo flowers again, with a few different stickers from the Thoughts Keeper sticker sheet...and more 2Crafty butterflies <3

Part of the title is cut from paper No. 6 - which on one side, has a variety of card type elements PLUS these really cool scrabble type letters.  They are a tad bigger than what you see here, as I cut them down slightly so that they didn't overpower the rest of the title.

You can also see the background work here...I first added the textured stencil work outside of the area where the photo was going to go.  Once dry, I then added a small amount of random stamping with Kaisercraft script stamp & Tim Holtz Gathered Twigs distress ink.  I then finished it off with a few dabs of glimmermist that I had sprayed onto a scrunched up piece of cling wrap.  I love the effect this gives as it adds to the vintage feel of the page.

And here is a close up of the main area of the page.

Next, I also have some more of my February Kaisercraft DT work to share using the fabulous
"Wanderlust" Collection.
This is a great collection to scrap all those travel photos, but would also be suited for other themed layouts as well.

"Conquering Mt Kozzie"

I used the "Freedom" paper for my background and I wanted to fit a few photos on the page for this one...Hubby & I hiking up to Mt Kosciuszko on the Australia Day long weekend.  The colours in this collection went perfectly with the colours in the photos.  I've also used some of the "A is for Adventure", Captured Moments cards as the layering in under my photos - I find these are great for this - you don't need to be a PL scrapper to make great use of these!

The alpha stickers are all Kaisercraft - Ivory, Red & Ebony

Lots of Collectables & sticker pieces layered & tucked here and there....and again, there's not a flower in sight :)

How cool are those Geotags?!  There are some in both the Collectables pack & on the sticker sheet...so plenty to go around.

More Collectables pieces.

I've also added some stamping to the background, using some of the arrows, chevron arrows & words from the Wanderlust stamp set.

Another great use for the CM cards....for journaling!
I created a pocket on the left side of the page, and my journaling card just slips in there with the little tag poking out so that it's easily pulled out to read.

Kaisercraft Products: Wanderlust Collection – Freedom P1758, Discover P1757, Adventurous P1759, Collectables CT820, Sticker Sheet SS273, Wanderlust Clear Stamps CS206, A is for Adventure – Captured Moments Cards 6×4 CM325, Red Alpha Stickers AS258, Ebony Alpha Stickers AS251, Ivory Alpha Stickers AS253, Foam Tape T303
Other – Twine, Archival Ink

Next is a couple of cards....

"Travel ......"

I've used one of the cards from the Kaisercraft Kraft cards & env. pack...topped with another CM card, some layers of paper from the paper pad, Collectables pieces & more stickers from the sticker sheet.  I've embossed a few of the paper pieces with another of the new Embossing folders - this one is called "Weave"....very cool!

Kaisercraft Products: Wanderlust Collection – Exploration P1756, Paper Pad PP962, Collectables CT820, Sticker Sheet SS273, A is For Adventure – Captured Moments Cards 6×4 CM325, Weave Embossing Folder EF200, Kaisercraft Card & Env – Kraft CD512,
Foam Tape T303, Black Ink IP719
Other – Cotton Thread

next card

"Bon Voyage"

A variety of papers, Collectables & Stickers....layered up on top of another Kaisercraft Kraft card.
I used the 'bon voyage' stamp from the Wanderlust stamp set, then cut it out & mounted on another piece of patterned paper, and then also cut it out, and mounted it on some foam tape.

Kaisercraft Products: Wanderlust Collection – Unknown P1764, Paper Pad PP962, Collectables CT820, Sticker Sheet SS273, Wanderlust Clear Stamps CS206, A is for Adventure – Captured Moments Cards 6×4 CM325, Kaisercraft Card & Env – Kraft CD512,
Black Ink IP719, Foam Tape T303
Other – Twine

Well, that is all from me for another week.
I hope you have been inspired by both of these collections :)

Kaisercraft Furry Friends by Fiona Johnstone

Hello everyone

YAY it's the beginning of a new month and lots of new goodies are in the store at the moment, you should head on over and check them out here.

First up for me this month is one of the new Kaisercraft releases, Furry Friends collection. This range is definitely aimed at our two most common domestic pets, dogs and cats, and today I am sharing a layout featuring part of my gorgeous dog Harry.

Photo Bomb:

I ADORE this photo, I was attempting to get a close-up of Zane when someone decided he would pop in and say hello. Too cute!!

There are lots of browns, tans, white and black in this range and lots of doggy details - bones, paw prints etc. For my page I have layered several of the papers together and added a circular background drawn with a black paint pen and some gelatos to add some extra depth to the layout. Then I've gone to the stickers for embellishments before adding some raw wood veneer which compliments the colours in this range perfectly.  A couple of tiny flowers, a flair (of course) and the PERFECT title for my page, Photo Bomb!

Some close ups:

I've layered up a combination of the stickers from the Dog Sticker sheet for this cluster on the lower right of my page. Finishing off with some hexagon veneers.

The 2Crafty chipboard title I have inked then used a woodgrain stamp to add some texture in a light beige. A couple of Prima flowers & a flair and the cutest little saying "Every dog needs a boy" from Simple Stories.

More wood veneer on the top left corner and a close up of my circle with some brown gelato rubbed alongside it.

You must check out this range if you have a precious furbaby, lots of cute!!

Till next week
Fiona
