Echo Park "Capture Life" & Kaisercraft "Mistletoe" - by Linda Eggleton

Hello everyone & welcome to the blog today :)

I am back to share another layout using the fun & versatile
I have to say that this has been a fabulous collection to create with....and I'm really happy
with the different themed layouts I've been able to get from it.

This one is using pics of my crazy husband while we were in Ireland last year....and is
quite bright with a mixture of colours & patterns.

"Hello Hello?"

I've used the reverse side of the Journal Cards paper for my background with that fabulous
white text on the grey background...and of course I didn't want to go covering any of it
up with background work.  I've then used a variety of papers to layer in under my photos.
The patterns & colours in this collection are fun & gorgeous!

Some of the alpha stickers from the Alphabet sticker sheet & also one of the 2Crafty
word circles that I've coated in gesso & then coloured with gelatos.

A few of the stickers from the sticker sheet

And some journaling on one of the pieces that I cut from the Memories paper.
And I LOVE that arrow paper <3

A small cluster of Petaloo & Green Tara flowers with a film viewfinder from the sticker
sheet & a brad from my stash - Teresa Collins Memorabilia Decorative Brads.
I have coloured the Petaloo flower with the same coloured gelato as the 2Crafty piece previously.

Next up is some of my Kaisercraft DT creations using the gorgeous
"Mistletoe" collection.

Yep....Christmas is on its way! :-/

"The Merry Little Christmas Crack-Up"

I've used a variety of papers to create tall Christmas trees in behind my photos and have
used the reverse side of the Wreath paper for my background - I love those chevrons!

As always, the Collectables pieces are FABULOUS!

I always keep the "cut off strips" from my KC papers & then love to use them on my
creations whenever I can....here I've used the strip above the photos .

^ Some new washi tape that is being released SOON - Fa La La La

Pics are of my crazy kids....and to think that I was trying to get some
nice normal Christmas photos! lol

Kaisercraft Products – Wreath – P1577, Jingle Bells – P 1575, Mince Pie – P1574, Santa’s Helpers – P1579, Tinsel cut off strip – P1580, Paper Pad – PP945, Collectables – CT802, Sticker Sheet – SS250, Red Alpha Stickers – AS258, Coconut Paper Blooms – F627, Sage Mini Paper Blooms – F649, Coconut Mini Paper Blooms – F644, Fa La La La Printed Tape – PT213, Red Ink Pad – IP734, Double Sided Tape – T314, Foam Tape – T303, Mounting Foam – T302

Next is another layout...

"1920's Christmas"

I've gone for more brighter, contasting colours for this one.

Some more of the collectables pieces & some stamping using the Mistletoe stamp pack - the
little black sprigs in amongst the cluster are from the stamp pack as well.  After stamping
them onto cardstock, I then cut them out & tucked them in and around the cluster of
blooms & collectables pieces.

A few tags from the Paper pad finished off with a small piece of KC lace.

And lastly, some jars that I have altered into Christmas gift jars - to be filled with lollies,
chocolates, or maybe some home baked goodies

These are so simple & quick to make!
Just a few strips of paper & lace, with some collectables & blooms & you have
transformed a plain glass jar into a gorgeous gift jar....and then you can fill it with
something yummy & give to someone special <3

Fancy Pants Everyday Circus by Fiona Johnstone

Hello Everyone

This week I've used the new Fancy Pants Everyday Circus collection.
Love the subdued brights and woodgrain papers together. There are so many
colours in this range, fab for any of those photos with a myriad of colours,
like this one of me and my kids on my birthday this year.

The background of these papers is an off white/cream and co-ordinates perfectly
with the Jillibean Soup Birthday Bisque embellishments which I have used for my
 birthday themed page.

I love these new Thickers with their multi colours and spots!
Too cute and fun. I have added some mini veneer stars to finish off my page.

Thanks for stopping by!

More "Capture Life" from Echo Park - By Linda Eggleton

Hello everyone :)

Today I have another layout to share using the fabulous "Capture Life" collection from Echo Park.
There are so many different colours in this collection, which makes it
suitable for any theme of layout.

This week we are going pink!

"Oh so serious!"

I've used the reverse side of the Brokeh Blur paper for my background & have added some template work using Kaisercraft's Bubble template & some modelling paste.
(A full list of products including links, is listed at the bottom of my post)

These are the alpha stickers from the Alphabet sticker sheet - love them!
The smaller black alpha's are from last month's kit - Simple Stories "The Story of Us"

Here I've clustered a few Green Tara & Petaloo flowers with some 2Crafty Heart Silhouettes
that I've coated in gesso then coloured with gelatos.

The "Memories" paper is one that I wished I had 2 of because I wanted to be able to use both sides!
The front side has all these fab squares with all sorts of images & words on them that are great for cutting out & using either as journal cards, as I have above or just for the images as I have in the pic below with the cute little pink viewfinder thingo.  The reverse side of this paper has a fabulous yellow pattern on it...so that's the reason I wished I had got an extra sheet of this piece!

And here is a bit of an overall view, with a better close up of the template work on the background.
I use a plastic palette knife that came in a pack of about 3 or 4 from one of the cheap shops for spreading my modelling paste....I find these are easier to use rather than the old credit card that lots of people use.  I generally work out where my papers & embellishments will go and lightly mark them with pencil on the background paper, so that I can see where the modelling paste needs to go, plus I then know where the papers go when I adhere them down after I've finished with the background work.  I then lay the template on the page & get a rough idea in my head where I want to spread the modelling paste, and I try not to be too particular about it being perfectly spread
or to be covering the whole area of the template.
I hope that all makes sense!

That's all from me for this week...I do hope you have been inspired by this fantastic collection :)
Until next time.... xx

Kaisercraft Outdoor Trail Collection - by Fiona Johnstone

Hello everyone

This month I have a couple of nice new collections to design with! The first one I have
had a chance to play with is one of the new Kaisercraft releases, Outdoor Trail.
It is rather outdoor, hunter/fisherman in style, but as usual the reverse side can be
used for so many other layout styles.

For this layout I have used the plainer patterns, particularly the browns and oranges
that are such a part of the Florence landscape. There are also plenty of embellishments
in the collectibles pack and sticker sheet that are suitable for travel layouts.

I have used the plain styled "frontier" paper and added some colour with a mixture of
orange and brown gelatos. Then I have added some masking and stamping to
complete the background.

   Breathtaking Florence

I've torn and distressed the edges of the papers and lightly inked my chipboard
circle in complimentary colours to give a little bit of an aged feel to the layout
 of this renaissance city.
I've added some of the collectibles and sticker sheet words to embellish this corner.

A close up of one of my clusters - some pretty flowers over a collectibles compass
piece and this gorgeous wooden butterfly. You can also see a bit more of the stamping.
I hope I have inspired you to give this range a try, even if you don't have any
hunting or fishing pages to scrap!!

Till next time

Echo Park "Capture Life" & Kaisercraft "Bow & Arrow" - by Linda Eggleton

Hello everyone....welcome to the AAS blog today & welcome to August!! :)

This month I will be working with the fabulous bright & cheery

My first layout for the month is this one that is based on the Scrap365 August sketch

"Escape to the City"

How COOL is that background paper???  It's the "City Scape" paper & is named appropriately!
I just love the chevrons with the city scape that can be seen through them - so I kept my photos & embellishing off to the side so as to not cover up any of the city scape :)

The "Memories" paper has lots of bits on it that are great for cutting out - including this really cool view finder that I've popped up on some foam tape.

As usual...a cluster! lol
some Green Tara & Kaisercraft flowers, Flutterby Designs flair & some 2Crafty silhouette hearts that I've inked the outer one in black, and the inner one is coated in gesso then stamped with co-ordinating ink using Kaisercraft script stamp.

A few stickers from the Sticker sheet.....and the top black one is actually from one of my DT kits a few months ago - Teresa Collins "Daily Stories" word/alpha sticker sheet.
I love being able to mix leftover goodies into other collections :)

A few black chevrons that I cut from the Chevrons paper & also some strip journaling.

And here is an overall shot of the main area of the page.
Pics are from a trip to Melbourne a few years ago with the girls from work.

And now for a few of my Kaisercraft DT layouts using the FABULOUS
Bow & Arrow collection...and I have to say that the colours, patterns & also the Collectables in this collection are AMAZING - I love them all & they were such fun to work with :)

"Carrick-A-Rede"

I've used the woodgrain "Spirit" paper for my background <3  and have only added a few splashes of mist to it as I love it just as it is.

Feathers, feathers & more feathers...there are a heap of them in the Collectables pack!

Here is a better close up where hopefully you can see a bit more detail.
I've cut down at small intevals into each feather at an angle to help it look more like a real feather, plus I've inked the edges & curled the edges up by working them with my fingers.

Lots of cool arrows in the Collectables pack also

Including these chevrons that I've cut out from the Chevron Specialty paper - I absolutely love these!!

Photos are from the Carrick-A-Rede rope bridge in Northern Ireland on the beautiful Antrim Coast.
It was an amazing & fun place to visit :)

Next up, another layout with the same collection...yet the colours are very different.

"Gangster's Ball"

This time I've used the reverse side of the "Stone" paper for the background....gotta love those chevrons!!

Again, more fabulous feathers :)
This time I've just shaped them with my fingers & also inked the edges again.

More of the cool arrows & also some tabs off to the side...all from the Collectables pack

There's also lots of very usable words & sayings on banners etc in the Collectables pack.
I think it's fair to say that the Collectables packs really are awesome value!

And here's even more pieces from, you guessed it, the Collectables pack!  lol

The title is using some Kaisercraft alpha stickers - Natural....and I have inked them in a darker brown to suit the colours of the layout.

And lastly, a quick & easy card.

"Hello"

I have simply layered some papers from the Paper Pad & some diecuts from the Collectables pack...all on top of a row of chevron's that I cut from the Specialty paper...and I also coloured them with a light inking.

Thanks so much for taking the time to check out my creations.
I hope you have enjoyed them & were inspired :)

Until next week  xx
