More Teresa Collins Daily Stories - By Linda Eggleton

Hi there everyone, today I'm back to share 2 more layouts created using the gorgeous Teresa Collins "Daily Stories" collection. As I mentioned in my previous post, deciding which side of the papers to use is not an easy one....both sides are totally gorgeous! For me, this is one of those collections where 2 of each paper is a must!! Anyways...on with the show "Just be you" My layout is based on sketch #112 at Sketchabilities

For this page I wanted to create some backround work, and I've used some of the new Teresa Collins Basically Essential stencils. There are a few varieties of these available in the AAS store, and are well worth checking out! I've also used the Kaisercraft Honeycomb stamp on my background as well as some splashes of glimmermist

Here I've used a 2Crafty word for my title - "You" loopy font....and I've simply inked it in black.

I also used some of the alpha stickers from the Daily Stories alpha/word sticker sheet, and I've altered them using pink my gelatos. On the yellowy piece of PP, I've cut around the circles on the paper for a scalloped finish along the edge.

I'm sure you all know by now, that it's almost a requirement for me to have a cluster on my page :)

This one is made up of some Green Tara flowers, Flutterby flair, 2Crafty butterfly, and also stickers & enamel dots from the Daily Stories range.

Here you can see some of the background work, where I've used 3 of the Basically Essentials stencils that come in the set....one is used with texture paste & the other 2 with gelatos, and you can also see some more stickers & enamel dots across the top of the photo...plus there's a tiny piece of mesh tape added for a bit more texture & interest.

And again, more stickers & enamel dots layered onto some chevrons cut from the "currently" paper, with a bit of mesh tape in there as well.

Here you can see where I've used all 4 colours of the sequins...placing them onto some foam tape to give a little bit of height off the page, and also alternating them with a different side facing up so that they all don't look uniform.

I have added some very personal journaling on the back of the layout to myself,

that it's ok to just be me :)

Next up is a layout based on the Scrap Around The World April mood board.

"2 of a kind"

For this page, I've created some more background work onto another plainer piece that I have covered in gesso (don't ask!) ...giving it a crackled look using a Prima stencil, with some more splatters, using Gelatos this time & a new fan brush that I've had fun playing with :) I've also used Kaisercraft Tiny Dot stamp randomly on the background.

And another cluster with more Green Tara & Petaloo flowers, Flutterby flair, 2Crafty butterfly & a few pieces cut from different PP's. The butterfly was coated in gesso & then white liquid pearls for a lovely shimmery finish.

Here you can see the background work close up....with a few punched butterflies that have sequins & enamel dots added for their bodies.

And even more butterflies :)

Here you can also see the punched border across the top (also on the bottom too) with a piece of the reverse side of the Butterfly paper tucked in under the main background piece to create the look of another layer in behind. This was needed as a fix up for another "don't ask" moment...LOL!!

to the back of the page for this one.

Kaisercraft Happy Snaps - by Fiona Johnstone

Hello everyone

This months Kaisercraft release includes this super fun range, Happy Snaps that I am fortunate enough to get to play with! Great for kids photo's and anyone who loves brights. I have created a layout of my kids and 2 of their favourite cousins, being all so close in age they are all the best of friends! As you can see by my photo, there is all sorts of colours going on, so I have chosen a neutral background, though with the fun pattern around the edges, and then used a mutlitude of the colourful papers:

A close-up of the left hand side detail. The multi-coloured strip below the Little Moment tag is from the bottom trim of the patterned paper - always check when removing as a few ranges have little extra bits you can use.

And the right hand side, utilising the collectibles and the sticker sheet:

Teresa Collins "Daily Stories" - By Linda Eggleton

Hi everyone, thanks for visiting the blog today :)

This month I will be creating with the newly released Teresa Collins - Daily Stories collection, and WOW, I am so super duper impressed with this one! You know you love a collection when you can't decide which side of each and every paper to use, as they are all just G.O.R.G.E.O.U.S, nor do you want to actually cut them up as they are so pretty and you feel that you will ruin them! lol AND then there's all the beautiful bits & bobs that come in the collection....gorgeous enamel shapes, a nice variety of stickers, and there's even Sequins that come in 4 different colours & sizes!!!

But you'll be pleased to know that I have made a decision on which papers to use for my first layout...and yep, I even got the courage to cut them up!!! hehehe.

I can't stress enough how much I love this collection and I know you will too....so make sure you get yourself some, you won't want to miss out!

So here is my first page using Daily Stories....

My page is based on the April sketch challenge at Scrap365

"Too Cute"

I used the reverse side of the notecards paper for my base...as I just LOVE the colour of this one & the lovely big white polka dots. I didn't want to alter the background too much, and was a little undecided at first whether to do anything at all to it...but for me personally, it just looked and felt a little "flat" without something on there! lol

So I kept my background altering to a bare minimum....I've added some sequins scattered around the page, all sitting on a the polka dot, and then I randomly traced around some of the circles, and others I've added some texture paste - all by using a circle template that was lucky enough to be the same size as the circles on the paper :) Then I left the remainder of the circles as is. I also hand stitched a border around the outside of the page using embroidery thread.

Now for a few close ups....

A cute little cluster with layers of flowers & butterflies - the pink butterfly is from the Enamel Dots & Shapes pack & the peachy coloured one I fussy cut from the Butterflies paper

& lightly inked around the edges.

Title using the 2Crafty loopy font title - Cute....with some of the alpha stickers from the Daily Stories alpha/word sticker sheet as well. I gesso'd the 2Crafty title first with a few thick coats & while drying with a heat gun, it bubbled up a bit (probably because I got too close!) and created some unique texture. I then coloured with a gelato - Metallic Melon, spreading the colour with a damp brush.

Some more from the Enamel Dots & Shapes pack....2 little chevrons, and in the bottom left of the photo I've also used a few of the dots in different sizes. I've also used one of the stickers from the Decorative Sticker sheet in amongst my paper layers. Plus a few little X stitches at the bottom of the paper with the cute little hearts <3

And here you can see some of the scattered sequins, with either modelling paste underneath or doodling around the circle that they sit on.

Kaisercraft Blubelle Collection - by Fiona Johnstone

Hello everyone
Happy April! Not sure how we arrived here so fast! Today I am finishing up with last months ranges and sharing a layout using Kaisercrafts Blubelle Collection. As well as lots of pretty florals, this range has a very cool triangle print on some of the papers that I was very drawn to and have used to start my layout.
I've chosen a plain patterened paper for my background so to add a bit of zest to the layout, I have inked over a crafters workshop triangles template to extend the triangle design of the patterned papers.

A close-up of my small flower cluster and the chipboard chevrons that I have covered in neptune ink, then painted over then distressed before coating with some distress crackle paint.

My title features a 2Crafty chipboard title that was made just for me. You can get any title you like made up for you, just ask! This piece I have inked then dabbed lightly with blue paint and coated in distress crackle paint. A couple of stickers from the sticker sheets and finished off with a bow.

Two last layouts using Far & Away and Limelight Collections - by Linda Eggleton

Hi there everyone...welcome to the blog today. As you know, I've been working with 2 collections this month, Teresa Collins' Far & Away & Kaisercraft's Limelight .... and I have really enjoyed creating with both. So for my last post for this month, I'm sharing a layout from each collection.... (a full list of products used is listed at the bottom of this post) First up is using Far & Away "Bay of Martyrs"

I have used the reverse side of the Ephemera paper for my background as I liked the grid pattern and thought it would work well as a base for some background work. I am loving using stencils & templates for stamping with mists lately, so again, this is the technique I've used for my background. I used the CW Quarterfoil template with some Denim Blue glimmermist - I first sprayed the template then placed it on my background piece & gently smoothed it over to ensure the GM transferred on to my paper base. I've also splashed a bit of Scarlet GM around, plus a bit of random stamping using Kaisercraft's Tiny Dots stamp.

For my cluster I have layered some Green Tara flowers, 2Crafty Summer Leaf Stem, that I've kept raw & diecuts & stickers from the Far & Away collection.

Here I've fussy cut around the red pattern on the reverse side of the Word Labels paper to create a scalloped effect to help break up all those straight lines....plus it tied in with the background quarterfoil stamping :)

And here is a better look at some of the background stamping with the mists....plus a few of the stickers & diecuts.

I've created a few layers of different lengths & widths in behind the photos...with one that I cut into a banner shape at the sides of the photos....and I've distressed all the edges to help create a bit of texture & depth.

And here is an overall close up of the main area of the page...with the title & a few stickers & diecuts.

Ok next layout using the Limelight collection from Kaisercraft....

"True Love"

Oh how I love this collection!

Again, another grid type pattern for the background in green...with a bit of a black border using the reverse side of the Dawn paper. To create my background, I first randomly sprayed the green "Bright" paper with some White Linen Dylusions ink spray....which helped tone down the brightness of the paper. I then used the Kaisercraft "Flutter" template with some modelling paste to create the pretty spray of butterflies across the page.

Once this was dry, I placed the template back over the page & then stamped some of the butterflies with Kaisercraft script stamp & some Prima chalk ink (Tin Can). I then continued on with creating the rest of the layout, adding layers of papers & adding all my embellishments. When the page was finished, I then decided that there was too much white on the butterfly background (yep, I tend to do this a lot!). So I decided to colour random butterflies with 2 different glimmermists, which meant I had to pull the papers & embellies back off the page (yep, I tend to do this sort of thing a lot if I'm not happy with it!). So again, I laid the template back over the page & then brushed the glimmermist on with a small paint brush. Surprisingly, this didn't affect the script stamping...I thought that it may have made the stamping run & smudge, but nope, it was all fine :) I then finished off the background work by adding a few random flicks of slate glimmermist....and then I placed all my layers & embellies back into place on the page to finish it all off :)

Here are a few close ups....

The main cluster with some of the leafy diecuts from the Collectables pack as the base of the cluster - this has been one of my most favourite Collectables pack EVER - there are just so many pieces in this pack that are so ME :)...also some Petaloo, Manor House & Kaisercraft flowers.

I've used a 2Crafty Ornate Oval Frame to frame my photo....adding some modelling paste for texture, then painting it in Liquid Pearls for a lovely pearly sheen, & I then finished it off with a light coat of painted Wheatfield glimmermist. To the left of the frame I've used one of the clock face diecuts from the Collectables pack with a butterfly sticker from the sticker sheet layered on top.

For the title I've used the black alpha stickers from the TC Far & Away sticker sheet, plus the word Love from the 2Crafty ATC word pack, that I first coated in gesso & then coloured with a grey gelato.

Here is a close up of the butterflies with the stamping & some painted in glimmermist.

And here's a bit of a close up to show the layers of papers, all distressed & inked for more definition & depth...plus one of the diecut banners from the Collectables pack.

MME Now & Then Izzy - by Fiona Johnstone

Hello everyone For this weeks layout, I am using the gorgeous new My Minds Eye Now & Then range - Izzy; to capture this photo of my two children, who are so close, both in age and affection for each other. How cool is the big ampersand? I knew I wanted to use that as the focus on my title, so kept it simple by using their names as the title. Another awesome part of this range is the fun "mixed bag" of embellishments which compliment the Izzy range and make up the majority of the embellishments I have used on my layout.

Teresa Collins Far & Away by Linda Eggleton

Hi there everyone....happy Friday & welcome to the blog!

Today I'm back to share 2 more layouts using Teresa Collins Far & Away collection.

The thickness & texture in TC papers is fabulous and makes them such a pleasure to work with!

I love the red, white, cream, grey & blue in this collection, and although I've mostly used them for travel photos (which you all probably know by now, it's what I scrap the most), this range would also go perfectly for any type of photos that suited these colours, as you'll see in my 2nd layout :)

My 1st layout is based on the 15th March Stuck sketch.

"Poulnabrone Dolmen"

I've used the Maps paper for my background and chose to not add any background work as the paper is fairly busy, except for a few splashes of scarlet glimmermist that I added after I'd finished the page, as I felt it needed a little touch of red added to it....then I've layered bits of PP that matched in with the colours of the photos.

I've added a small cluster of flowers, diecuts & the arrow piece cut from the word labels paper to the top right of the photos.

These are banner pieces, slightly overlapping each other from both the sticker & diecut sheets.

And some more of the 2Crafty chevron bits that are inked in black. I love that this pack of chevrons has so many pieces & different sizes too....plus those outlined/negative bits are a fav!

Across the top of the page is the scalloped border strip from the sticker sheet with a few scrap strips layered on top. Also some strip journaling that I cut from the throw away bits from around the diecut sheet. I also cut the Chevron PP (just below the journaling) to the shape of the chevrons to help highlight them & create more interest to the page.

And some more journaling a the bottom of the page - telling a brief history of the Poulnabrone tomb

And here is an overall shot of the main area of the page where you can see the photos & details of the layers better. The small rectangle piece with the date is cut from the Word Labels PP...which also has a heap of other travel related words & symbols.

Now for the 2nd layout....

"Selfie fail ?"

For this layout I've used white cardstock as the base with some stamped stencil work using CW chickenwire template, with some added ink stamping as well.

I sprayed the chickenwire template with some Scarlet GM inside an old pizza box. I then flipped the template over & laid it onto my white cardstock, carefully pressing it down slightly to make sure the GM transfered onto the cardstock. I then worked out where my papers would go & added some random stamping using Kaisercraft chevron stamp, and to finish the background off, I've added a few small flicks of Denim Blue Glimmermist.

Another cluster with Green Tara & Kaisercraft flowers, a Flutterby flair & punched butterfly.

These are more word strips cut from the Word Labels paper, plus one of the tab stickers from the sticker sheet. Plus you can get a bit of a looksie at the stamped stencil work on the background.

More stickers that I have trimmed down to create a little banner. Some using the top wider part of the banner and others using the longer thin part ....and I've overlapped them slightly when placing them onto the layout.

Some more of the background work & a quick simple title using the alpha stickers from the sticker sheet.

And here is a bit of a close up of the main area of the layout.

I've used some 2Crafty filmstrip that I inked in black & poked in under the sides of my photo....me and my pooch Oscar, who I'd swear hates the camera! Unless you have food to bribe him with, he will never look at the camera...LOL
